Gorgeous property and a lovely spacious room. Food was lovely in the evening and breakfast was lovely. The lady that served breakfast was very chatty, friendly and helpful.

We raised issue with shower it was scorching hot ( I hurt foot testing it) could t not get to correct temperature, we were not able to have a shower. the breakfast lady raised with owner and while we were at breakfast he went to look at problem to call emergency plumber. What spoilt our stay was that the owner couldn’t be bothered to come and apologise we couldn’t shower and check all ok. Very disappointing from the owner - even on checkout he was there and never said a word to us. Be rude we felt. It only takes an apology. He probably thought we’d want to be reimbursed!

What an absolute gem of a place The Bugle Inn is. My husband and myself stayed Friday - Sunday over the Easter weekend. The welcoming, warm, friendly, attentive staff all weekend was wonderful. The room was beautiful, spotlessly clean, and there was plenty of tea, coffee, and bottles of water. Loved the toiletries and the fact flannels were provided. The breakfasts were gorgeous, and had we not already had plans with family we were visiting on the two nights we stayed, we would have certainly had our evening meals here as the menu looked delicious. Both the Friday and Saturday nights when we got back for drinks were busy, and such a fabulous atmosphere. We absolutely loved our stay at The Bugle Inn and can't wait to come again later in the year!

Lovely country inn. Difficult to find parking space on arrival. Mix up with my booking was sorted via a room upgrade, but the larger room had not had its heating turned on until I arrived at the room. Luckily I was heading to the restaurant for supper anyway. Breakfast was cooked to order and superb.

Friendly and helpful staff. Excellent food; good variety of choices for dinner, well cooked, good quality, great taste and of more than sufficient quantity; breakfast was first class (perfect poached eggs). Comfortable room; everything you needed in toiletries, tea/coffee making. The situation is good for a lovely walk via a pretty church to the river and along the field.

Nothing. However, it's a very popular place around lunchtime, so parking is at a premium.

We stayed in the Room called Itchen- the King size room . This was our second stay here . The Room is comfortable and the bathroom nice with a separate shower and a bath . The breakfast was excellent . We would certainly stay here again and feel the cost is reasonable . . We visit our son who lives in Winchester and it is a 15 min drive- 6 miles - to his Flat so bit of a distance for us but this is the nicest place we have stayed in on our visits to him .

Our room was named "Test" (named after one of the three rivers that surround the area). It was spotlessly clean and when walking barefoot across the warm flooring you could just tell how clean it was - not a grain of grit at all! The bed was comfortable with beautiful bedlinen and the rainforest shower was easy to use, an ample hot water supply and good water pressure - it was lovely. We had an absolutely delicious evening meal (house burger and chicken supreme - both highly recommended. The bar staff were all so lovely, attentive and helpful, without being intrusive. I would have originally said that The Bugle Inn was quiet, whilst we enjoyed a late afternoon latte in the bar, however, we dined at 6pm and by 7pm it was a hive of activity geared up to serve families to one side of the restaurant and couples and adult groups to the other side (not sure if this is intentional or not, but it worked really well). We'd visited Winchester for the day and didn't want to stay in town, so this was a swift four mile drive away. We were able to take a walk to a nearby recreation ground where we gather there are several walks.

We'd turned in quite early, not that it kept us awake, but we could hear the odd beer barrel (?) being rolled out the back quite late and then very early in the morning. Staff were very obliging in replacing two hard fried eggs and, if we were to be really fussy, we would have preferred 'back' bacon as opposed to 'streaky' which was a little tough.

Friendly staff, excellent food including breakfast. Nicely decorated and spacious rooms.

We arrived later in the evening and the car park was full with those visiting for drinks/ evening meal. Extremely small car park to try and manoeuvre. Had to try and find parking in the local streets which we were not familiar with and as a small village it was very difficult to find a parking space. Had to return to the car park later in the evening to move the car when visitors had left and there was plenty of space.

Lovely little inn, stayed one night as attending event in local area following day. Room was comfortable. It also unexpectedly had an air con unit which was very welcome on a very hot night. Comfortable mattress and very good shower. We had an excellent meal at a very reasonable price in the bar. Plenty options for breakfast in the morning. Would stay again if in that area.

the size of the room - nice bathroom - and the morning breakfast was very nice. the staff was very professional and smiling at all times. a special word for the waitress who took care of us for breakfast, made us feel very welcome. great job. location very close to beautiful walks along the river Itchen.

car park is a bit small so we had to go and park 100 yards away.

Really friendly welcome when the staff woke up to the fact that people with luggage might be wanting to check in. From then on the staff were great.Lack of local knowledge about places to visit etc.

Asked through booking.com to have a car park place reserved as i had a lot of expensive fishing tackle I did not want to take to the room. I did not even get the courtesy of a No can do!
