Arrived in Durres after ferry trip from Bari. From the ferry terminal, follow sign for "Train Station", to get to the bus station, where you'll find a bus going to Tirana (South and North Albania Bus Terminal). From here I took a taxi to the hotel, which was situated in a very pleasant area of the city, about 400 meters from Skanderbeg Square. The hotel is literally round the corner from a fast food restaurant (good) and next to the restaurant is a Money exchange for your Albanian Lek. This particular area is populated with various bars and restaurants, including "Oda Garden" serving authentic Albanian cuisine. Within the adjacent vicinity is a large covered market selling all and sundry, really worth a wander around, clean and tidy too. A visit to Skanderbeg Square in the evening is a must, it comes alive in all sorts of ways.

This country isn't new to tourists. However, at this point in time, if you are a single traveler, then trying to get on tours of any description is pretty much a non-starter, unless you want to break the bank. Two people travelling together fine, single person ok, but you will required to pay excessively for that privilege. However, as the country becomes more credible as a tourist destination, I'm pretty sure that these inconsistencies will be eventually eliminated.

The guy at the reception desk was extremely nice. We enjoyed talking to him and getting answers for questions we had about Albania. He also was really nice to agree to prepare breakfast for us earlier than usually (7AM), since we had to head out of Tirana early. The room met our expectations and is of great value. Although small, it is perfectly fine for a short stay, warm enough in winter (A/C working fine, extra blankets available), hot water is working (we had experience in another Tirana hotel where this was a problem, so this is not a "given" :)

The room was perfect for a single traveller. The location was perfect, I walked to everywhere I needed to go. Breakfast was sufficient for a busy person like me, needing lots of energy to go around. The staff were exceptional: Anxhela at the Reception was really helpful, and she became a friend. I will come back to the hotel in the hope I get to catch up with Anxhela again.

Jolly Hotel is a gem! We stayed on two separate occasions during our two week stay in Albania. The staff was so hospitable, welcoming and helpful. Thank you Shaban, Shaze and Irian! Breakfast was coffee, tea, bread, croissants, ham and cheese, hardboiled eggs, fruit, yogurt and honey. Many options each morning. The rooms were simple, clean and had everything we needed. There was wifi available and a TV in the room. The staff provided answers to the bus system and gave us suggestions on what to visit as well as how to get there. We booked the first few days of our trip and were so charmed that we made sure to end our last night there, too. We met people from all over the world staying at the Jolly, too and the breakfast room was a great place to sit, eat and chat. We were able to safely stow our packs on our last day after checkout as well. We didn't even have to ask. It was offered at check out as the staff knew we still had several hours until our flight out of Tirana. A special place, a great location and wonderful people. 10/10 recommend.

Perfect central location in Tirana. The room was comfortable and clean. The bathroom offered complementary soap and shower gel. Owner was very kind as we were able to print our boarsing passes (which are actually not accepted at TIRANA aiport, you need to get it at at the airport from the airport). Nearby the hotel is ghe bus stop to airport (they kept our luggage) and the nice restaurant Oda for traditional Albanian food (make sure you book the table in advance).Breakfasy was good i could even toast myself a croque monsieur. Be sure to try the Tirana free tour to get some hints about the country

The hotel is not fancy, but is right in the middle of the city, walking distance to everywhere, which is great because driving in Albania is crazy. THe staff was very nice, helpfull. Hard to get the english but we managed. The value for the room was totally fine. The staff helped us to find a place to park the car during the night.

The breakfast was poor. But again, for the price, I think it was fair. Maybe more variety would be good. The air conditioning in the room took some time to cool the room, but after that it was fine.

Lively neighborhood with a lot of cafes and small local restaurants (and a market nearby). The neighborhood is close to the center (7min walk). The staff was incredibly nice, and the room was great!

The hotel does not have free parking (even though it advertises that it does). Parking is available in a nearby garage (3min walk from the hotel) for €3/night (mind you the garage is pretty steep). We've managed to find parking in front of the hotel, on the street (and in the end someone scratched our car there - so not great).

Hair dryer in room. Very big room. Good location in the city. 24/7 reception. Good and tasty breakfast included in price. Friendly hotel staff. Good wi-fi. Anyway it is still good value for money.

Noisy. You hear very loud every time someone open entrance door of hotel... There is no shower stall, the shower sticks out of the wall and all the water spills over the floor of the entire shower room. This is very uncomfortable, despite the fact that the hotel provides guests with rubber slippers. Heating not strong enouth. The hotel gives voucher for free underground parking, 300 m from hotel, but where is pretty difficult entrance to the parking - it's much better to park on payment parking in front of hotel.

The location is great, as we were able to walk to many places we wanted to visit, and we greatly appreciated the parking. The facilities were basic, but clean and comfortable, more than meeting our needs. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, always ready to provide tips about where to go and how to get there. I would definitely stay there again, and recommend it to others!

The location was perfect, everything is reachable by foot, the garage where we left our car was also very secure. Breakfast was nice, the staff is also very friendly. We had a nice balcony

Room could be a little bigger, also there was no hot water in the shower.
