Hotel Austral Ushuaia offers both rooms and studio accommodations. It's ideally located within a 5-minute walk of the Montiel Viajas Bus Sur bus terminal. It's also very close to the main street, San Martín (with its many dining options), and the bay in the Beagle Channel. A delicious, extensive breakfast was included and served in a large common area. The helpful staff at the reception desk were happy to arrange an airport shuttle.

We stayed in a well-maintained studio, which is offered for three nights. This meant we had to pay for the night we couldn't stay due to transportation issues (buses to Ushuaia don't run every day in winter). They didn't inform us or offered to change to a room in the main building.

Austral Ushuaia Hotel is the type of property the majority of Ushuaia visitors would be quite satisfied with. It is centrally located, although somewhat uphill. It has comfortable rooms, although somewhat on a simpler side and is overall convenient and functions as a good base for both Ushuaia and its surrounding area. I would not hesitate to use it the next time if it happens that I visit Ushuaia again.

The bathroom is relatively outdated and it has a fixed wall shower that does not allow a proper body showering. The breakfast is the least desired detail in the overall hotel offer. It has very limited options and it should be definitely improved. The fact that the most accommodations in Argentina offer quite limited breakfasts in general, should not be a justification.

Great location! 100/200m from Main Street with a lot of restaurant options. Bedroom is very comfortable, good and hot shower. WiFi works fine. Staff was very friendly as well. No parking lot available however there are plenty space in front of the hotel!

Breakfast is basic: coffee, milk, breads, some cakes and cereals. If you want something more as scrambled eggs they charge a fee. We stayed for 5 days and only one night the shower’s water was not so hot. One minor point but it’s important to mention that there is no blackout in our room - curtains are shorter than the window.

The room was great and included cooking facilities. We liked that our room was on the ground level so we didn’t have to carry our luggage up any stairs. Breakfast was good, and the hotel was only a few blocks from the main tour departure location. The staff were very helpful when we needed to find a bus to take us to Punta Arenas. We were at our wits end, but they found a company that had seats available. They also had a good recommendation for a Korean restaurant close by.

The hotel is very nice and the personnel were outstanding. The rooms are spacious, although the bathroom could use a bit more space. The ambiance is homey and comfy and everything is close by.

The location itself is not a problem, but there's a dance studio near by. They were teaching their classes late at night, one time 15 past 11 pm. That didn't make any sense at all. Very rude in my opinion, especially being right next to a hotel. The breakfast wasn't all that great, it was just very basic and no omelets or scrambled eggs, only hardboiled eggs. They had ham and cheese, jams, jellies and toast plus other pastries, but nothing extraordinary.

Comfortable property in a good location, near the main street of the city. The staff provided good service. The breakfast was simple but good.

The shower temperature controller didn't work properly. A slight adjustment would make the water either too cold or too warm.

Staff was truly friendly and helpful. They were interested in providing what we needed and great to talk with albeit in Spanish. the hotel is an older classic building and well maintained. this too us was a bonus instead of the modern and lacking character. The rooms were large and the common areas spacious. Quiet area and nice view of the city.

I’m very happy for my stay at Austral Ushuaia. I booked for 1 night before our expedition trip to Antarctica. The location is very close to town center and all restaurants/ activities. The room is clean & comfortable. The owners are very nice & booked activities for us . The front desk lady Aracely is very sweet & helpful . It’s ok to pay with US dollar . The casino in downtown Ushuaia is the best place to exchange money , not local banks .

Very comfortable hotel with friendly staff. Our room was very well appointed with hooks, shelves and cupboard space. The 2 luggage racks were very welcome as you don't want to unpack everything. They even printed out our boarding passes for us. Would stay again.

Nothing really about the hotel. You just need to remember that Ushuaia is very hilly and the hotel is 'up' from the main coast road.

Convenient location, very friendly and helpful staff. Adequate room and facilities. Small, intimate, hotel.

Nothing to complain about. A suggested enhancement would be to have tea and coffee making facilities available in the lounge/dining area during the day (not just at breakfast).
