I felt that we had gone down a time zone back to the sixties. The decor made us feel relaxed. Our room was fantastic. Must had been recently renovated. It had all we needed and lots of power points. Comfy bed, kitchenette, ample pillows, and presentation. I loved that there was a 24/7 amenities room. In there are microwaves, irons, ironing boards, glassware, stoves, pots & pans if you should need it. Great concept. At the front of the property an old caravan (same era) making fresh coffee to buy. A favourite with the locals. This hotel although was a 10-15 minute walk to town centre it was still close enough. Staying at this hotel was wonderful and is what I needed. There was no real staff contact. You get your code and room number by text when your room is ready. The are staff around the premise.

All was very good

The room was clean and sweet with good tea selection and toaster, the share kitchen was 24/7 access with a freezer for my food and also very clean, the staff were lovely and helpful and the beach was a 20 minute walk with a slow dog so it was very affordable for such a popular beach stay. There was an enclosed yard with a pool and dog shower where I could sit in the sun and have coffee in the morning and let my dog wander around and lay in the sun. I enjoyed the relaxed feeling there.

The big shower head wet the bathroom floor a bit but the cleaning staff had unlimited new towels for me and there was an option of daily full service so it was fine anyhow. Nothing bad to report !

Easy to find and easy to get into by key code, clean and tidy. Good communication to advise room was ready. Refreshed look, nice products supplied and good quality linen. Lovely little window bench and seating even though weather didn’t permit using it. Good supply of power points.

No suitcase stand supplied, no where to place your toiletries in the bathroom, very simply equipped kitchen (no microwave) parking bays not numbered to rooms so we had to park a very long way around the back and it was raining when we got back from dinner. Didn’t realise dogs were permitted…interesting!

Clean, comfortable beds & great value for money!

I feel that this wasn’t a very child friendly space in terms of the doors. My 2 year old daughter was tall enough to reach the handle & because of this there was no child safety latches. Even if you click down the latch on the door it opens with the pull of the handle so I had to put the wooden bench against the door & stack our luggage on it so my daughter could reach it. Also, the shower pressure wasn’t the best & the temperature was very hard to get right, it was either too hot or too cold & took a while to get it right.

I love this funky motel in Kingscliff. The rooms are really beautifully decorated and well laid out and the bed was very comfortable. Check in is painless, a PIN is sent to you by text when your room is ready and you just enter it in the keypad and you are in. There's a convenient coffee van in the property open from early morning. It's a delightful 20 min walk into Kingscliff along the promenade or a 3 min drive. The staff are very friendly and made my stay at The Blue Water very pleasant. I'll most certainly be staying here again when visiting Kingscliff.

It was very retro and groovy with simple decor. It was also very clean.

I upgraded our room to one with a terrace and the plan showed a hammock. Well, it was just a small back alley with two chairs facing the fence. We didn't use it at all as it was more interesting sitting at the high bench at the window. I felt that was hardly an upgrade, wouldnt all those rooms have the same set-up?Why not reserve those two cars spots against the pool wall for Unit 1 and 2? That would make it feel more exclusive. I would stay here again but I wouldn't pay extra for something that didn't really exist. I talked it up to my husband too, as it was his birthday, so it was abit of a let down. I can see that it would be a fun place when the bar or coffee caravan is open.

A lot of care and effort went into this little motel. Everything has a fresh modern, yet retro style. Small details in the room like an integrated Art/TV, usb outlets, dimming lights, unique art and dishware completed the super clean, cozy room. The share kitchen was amazing, sparkling water on tap! The little swing and outdoor sitting area was nice. There are so many good things to say. Can't wait to come back.

Out of the control of the motel, but the road out front is busy. However, the motel does such a great job at making the outdoor spaces comfy and well covered with foliage, it's hard to notice the road.

Everything about this motel is excellent. Clean, fresh and new feel about the place. Reception and service staff were friendly and helpful. Great walk-in shower with easy temperature adjustment and neat wall-mounted shampoo-soap dispensers, small but adequate in-room kitchen with a large communal kitchen also available 24/7, firm comfortable bed, great wall tv, small garden terrace at back. No-key entry coded entry so you can't lose the key. They even have their own coffee caravan on the premises. They've really put some thought into this place. Highly recommended. 10/10

I'm digging deep to find anything, and this is only a suggestion: I'd like to have a grab handle in the shower as my balance is not what it used to be.

Cute fit out, very quiet and relaxing, great location - although you would need a car to get to the shops, clean rooms, loved the coffee cart. We also used the bikes and boogie boards, which the kids loved. Kingcliff is lovely if you want to get away from the hustle & bustle.

The sheets smelt damp/musty, I thought it might have been the humid weather, but then we had our bedding changed and it was a lot better. Also too much water run off in the shower.

This is the cutest place I’ve stayed in in Australia – and I live here! The property has been lovingly refurbished with a cute retro vibe. Lots of handpainted touches and very tasteful and cute little bits of attention to detail. It was immaculately clean and it was the most comfortable bed I slept on for this trip up and down the East Coast the hostess even gave me a free bottle of wine because the power happened to be out around the Vicinity and we didn’t get back until the evening. (It didn’t bother me at all because these things happen) they had string lights in the evening and it looked like there were bikes available to hire and surfboards available to hire as well. I just wish I had been staying longer. In fact it made me want to come back to Kingscliff just to stay here.
