We really enjoyed our stay at Merool on the Murray with the kids. The cabins were clean and spacious, and the setting by the river was peaceful and beautiful. The communication and follow-up from the park staff before and during our stay were excellent — very clear and helpful.. The check-in process was smooth, and we appreciated how well-maintained the park grounds were. It felt safe and family-friendly, with easy parking and great views of the Murray River.

The games room was a bit disappointing — several machines weren't working, which made it less enjoyable for the kids. The pool was also closed during our visit, which limited the activities available on-site.

I loved this place! It's a holiday park and I traveled outside school holiday times, so it was basically empty, but that was nice. The little cabins are wonderful; very spacious, super comfortable beds, nice little kitchens, and even a porch to relax on. The park is also right on the Murray, so you can go safely swim in the river down near the boat ramp or in the pools which looked great as well. There's a massive games room and BBQs outside. The place seems to be themed as a sort of frontier town and the little shops are probably open during school holiday times. Lots of cockatoos and kookaburras, beautiful sunsets, and only about 10 minutes driving from the center of Echuca (just watch out for roos at dawn and dusk!). Great internet too.

Can't think of anything, but I do wonder if it would be a bit much for a solo traveler if the place was full of kids and families during peak season...

We were in a Premium 1b/r villa overlooking bushland between us and the river. (other cabins overlooked facilities or each other). Our cabin was very clean, comfortable, spacious, and well provisioned. The staff were attentive, helpful and friendly. The pool looked great but it was too cold to attract users while we were there. Only about 10% of the park was occupied so it was very peaceful. We expect that our experience would have been a lot less pleasant in the high season with the park very full!

Some upgrading of internal roadways and paths is needed (they were degraded, eg large potholes!). There's evidence that at one time there were areas that have since fallen into disuse and disrepair. It would be good to see these restored or cleaned up.

Location was great for us as we were there for a wedding with family staying nearby. River View and comfy studio with all amenities. Noise curfew was great as it was busy. Also courtesy bus to the RSL (our wedding bus pick up point) was great!

Nothing to do with the property at all: I didn't realise it was labour day weekend so it was packed and quite noisy with boats and groups of people in daytime. Also the flocks of noisy birds skreeching took a bit of getting used to at 6am

The caravan park was absolutely amassing, with friendly and helpful staff. The location was great, offering convenience and a peaceful atmosphere. The view of the river from our room was simply beautiful, creating a perfect spot to relax. A highlight of our mornings was the delightful visit from kookaburras. Highly recommended for a wonderful getaway.

The room itself was quite aged and in need of an update, as it felt tired and would benefit from a revamp

Loved the pool so much, we spent every afternoon there. It was a perfect temperature and great for adults and kids with the beach style entry and deeper points. The scenery was beautiful and peaceful with many birds and a quiet river location. Loved the native trees and palm tree landscaping. The design of the old shop buildings/ cottages are really cool.

Furnishings in the room were dated such as the sofa should be replaced but that’s my only complaint

We were lucky enough to spend a little extra to have a unit with a river view. We could have breakfast on front deck and watch the river and boats. Wrens and kookaburras visited right in front yard several times. Very picturesque watching the river change during day/night and different weather. We even saw a paddle steamer paddle past. RSL about 2.5klm away for a great feed but book in to ensure you have a seat they get busy on weekends/holidays. Definately a park we would llike to go back to.

No Negatives

The cabin had everything we needed, cooking facilities and microwave, a great fridge with a small freezer. It has a private bathroom. It had a great look over the Murray River from our verandah. I felt that it was pretty quiet as we stayed just after the school holidays. The park has a great games room and BBQ facilities, the pool was really nice, the pool area was clean. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Merool is close to the Moama RSL and Bowls club. Woolworths, BWS, McDonald's, and Sutton's Bakery just down the road. We really enjoyed our stay, it was relaxing and we can't wait to return.

Everything... In all the places I have stayed in my time this is my favourite by far. I went in late in the evening when was dark. Woke up next morning to a pleasant surprise right by the water with kangaroos ducks kookaburras and bunnies roaming through the Holiday Camp. Honest the photos don't do enough to capture the serenity of this place.

Stayed 2 nights in March. Pretty quiet. Site on riverfront. Cabin was clean and well appointed. Bed was comfy. Wifi OK. RSL close by for meals. 5-10 minutes drive to supermarket, Echuca sights and shops. Courtesy bus available.

Lots of SMSs pre arrival and check-in closed at 5pm. Lots of notices in the cabin. Odd layout: bed was directly opposite the front door. Site was quite crowded with cabins and river was a bit hard to access. Watch out for the high speed bumps on the access road. Pin access on boom gate.
