Hurstville may not be a known Sydney name to most travellers, I stumbled across it few years ago when the women’s World Cup filled Sydney hotels in the normal haunts A quick trip on the train from airport, Wiolli creek change, lots of lift at station then 10 mins to Hurstville The hotel is 5 min walk, it’s a big sport bar with plenty of space , they serve food and full bar with pleasant staff, and giant screens u check in at the bar, there is a Westfield shopping centre 5 mins walk so every shop, cinema is there. The room in hotel are old and could do with a bit of paint, but very clean, air con, quick wifi, bed very comfortable , fridge and free water and loads of coffee and milk on the tray The bar noise does leek into the rooms but if you’re just wanting a room for a few days to recover from flight and lag , then this ideal, only a twenty min train ride to the city. For £50 a night it’s a bargain

Staff and manager Giorgio were excellent 👌. Hotel premises and gaming area lovely. Good food. Rooms a bit old, definitely not the Ritz 😆 but had everything that we required, cleaned and stocked daily. We had a triple room for more space. Close to train station, buses and Westfield Shopping centre. Cannot praise all the staff enough. Thank You.
Only, thing was the spiral staircase, but we managed, would not stop me staying again if in the area. Also, can't cloak bags until hotel opens at 10am.

Check-in was very easy, the room smelled super nice, it was spacious with fridge, cups, glasses, coffee and biscuits, everything was clean, the soaps and shampoos they give away smell super nice. The location is also very good. I did not give top marks for cleanliness because I found some dried noodles. But I didn't see any insects and all surfaces, sheets and towels were clean. The carpet was in good condition. 100% recommendable.
I have no trouble sleeping, but for someone with a light sleep, at least in the room I stayed in, you could hear all the noise from the street and the pub downstairs. Luckily it is not a discotheque :)

Going to sydney and seeing multi culturism working and seeing all walks of life flurishing all hours. Even the trains were fantastic for a city that never sleeps .ONLY 5minutes away from transport hubs the hotel keeps a very professional standard in all departments .As a hospitalitity worker i commend the ritz for real smiles and they deserve recognition to the industry . Alot of tourists dont get to hurtsville however the ritz is more than value for money . The owners should give all staff a mini bonus after this review as i will be passing on business to them from queensland. A big thank you regards Paul Maguire 40 years in hospitality
Only street jammers a lottle close and late . Not hotels fault after trading hours.Like i said Sydney never sleeps

Conveniently right next to train station. Clean room with own bathroom, fridge and basic coffee station.
Noisy at night due to traffic and street cleaning. Some windows were not blocked out by curtains which allowed street light to come in and therefore interrupted sleep. Room 14 needs a curtain on the milky glass and the window above it and a new curtain on a window close to the bathroom.

We loved it here!! The location; so close to the train station, shopping malls, cafes. The staff were really friendly and always happy to help. We were able to drop our luggage off prior to check-in, which allowed us to start our exploration of Sydney without carting luggage around, so very thankful. The room had everything we needed - comfortable bed, mini fridge, TV, aircon and ensuite. Everything worked, very neat and tidy. Seriously, could not fault it. 👍 The Pub! The food! Soooo good! Great value 😊 We ended each night having a meal and a pint before retreating. Such an awesome, chilled atmosphere 😊
Cannot fault the stay at all. There wasn't anything we didn't like.

This is a classic old Sydney building with a few original features, including some quite small but extremely cheap rooms. You do not expect anything above basic for this price, and you have to be okay with some quirks, but it's clean, the beds are comfortable, there's enough tea, coffee & biscuits to keep you going and you can always duck down to the bar for a drink. These guys came through when I was in a huge scrape, had lost my purse and missed my train and was in a massive panic stuck in Sydney with nowhere to go. The manager even carried my suitcase up to my room for me. Thanks heaps!
The rooms are very small and the bathrooms are shared, but that was well and truly made up for by the price.

The location was great, closest motel to the main highway. The staff were great, the concierge was exceptionally helpful and friendly. Rooms were tidy and clean, bathroom was clean and the shower had great pressure and was easy to set at the right temperature. The Hisense TV was already connected to the hotel wifi, so using all my favourite streaming accounts was easy. The aircon was good, and quickly removed any humidity and cooled the room.
Despite being comfortable overall, the rooms were fairly dated in appearance, and had that distinctive 'old room' smell. The water from the taps was very slightly brown, but I'm told this is because the water is from the Murrumbidgee river nearby.

Didn't eat a breakfast during our stay, although we ate dinner there and the food was excellent . The location was the main reason we booked at The Ritz.
I can't think of anything I didn't like about the Ritz I enjoyed my time there, and would return in the future.
