We have stayed here a few times initially just because of the great location in Miller Street. But now having had three overnight stays we love everything about this quirky little hotel. We are always greeted warmly by staff and escorted to our room. All the rooms we have stayed in have been spotless, good clean linen and different rooms have different amenities. There is a beautiful park across the road a great pub and coffee shop 50 m away and now the new Metro is a five minute walk down Miller Street which just makes travelling around Sydney so easy. Great low overnight tariff is just a bonus and the area is so quiet and so far has been very safe for us to move around after dark.

The garden was very pretty and gave the room a pretty outlook. The room was a very good size. Noise was absolutely no problem although it was at the front facing a main road. Proprietor was very pleasant and helpful. The room had a good air conditioner for heating. There was a microwave and fridge with milk provided. Tea and coffee making facilities were good. There was a very pleasant outside area which was sheltered from the wind. We were able to obtain parking for the car for a reasonable fee (considering the location). For public transport, it’s very close to the new Victoria Cross metro station which means you don’t have to sit in traffic to get to the CBD.

The bed felt a little lumpy. The sliding door to the bathroom needs better runners.

The room I had was very roomy, cosy and comfortable, despite being there as I had lost my father, the great room and the gentleman at reception ensured I had a base to decompress after daily hospital visits.

The bathroom was dated, which isn't a problem if it is functional and clean. However the shower had seen better days and requires some repair work.

The location couldn't be better - close to my family who live near Manly, very easy to take public transport into the city or to locations on the north shore. The room had absolutely everything I wanted and was very comfortable. The bed was also great, and there was plenty of space for me to put my things, airconditioning and WiFi which worked well. I hadn't realised the location was as convenient as it turned out to be when I made the booking, so that was a nice surprise! I also very much appreciated the staff allowing me to store my bag there when I arrived early, as well as leaving it there for the final day when they were happy to look after it for me until it was time to head to the airport.

We stayed in the family suite, so it was nice having a seperate bedroom and then a bed in the main room.

If possible, it would be a good idea to have a PowerPoint near the head of the bed in the main room. And access to more toilet paper in the bathroom. Maybe some scissors in the draw. And a plushier pillow. But they are all minor things 👍

Location was great for purpose of my trip which was to attend cricket at North Sydney Oval and was an easy commute into city via bus and/or train to do other activities. Really enjoyed the area, very relaxing such a contrast to the city. Had great meals at pub just a few doors away and breakfast at cafes a short walk away. Bed was comfortable and the air con although quite noisy worked well to cool down room in very high temp weather.

Only thing I didn’t like was the pillows, they were very firm.

I like that there was functioning AC as the temperature was really cold for us. I also like that there were basic facilities to prepare coffee like instant coffee, sugar and milk. Soap and shampoo was also available. Internet was good.

I would love to have drinking water readily available for guests to use. Tap water would be fine

Good value for North Sydney convenience. Will be especially good when the new metro station opens at Victoria Cross. Off street parking available if you get in early. Fridge and microwave handy. Gardens lovely. No street noise (we were at the back of the building).

A queen sized bed rather than a king in this room would give you more space to move around. Very tight. You can hear people coming and going but they weren’t too noisy.

Clean room, comfortable bed. Close to North Sydney oval, pubs and cafes as well as the Metro station to shoot into the city. It was the perfect location for our day at the football and a night out in the city for Vivid.

Ensuite was a little tired and could do with a freshen up.

Lovely spacious comfortable room. Comfortable beds. Great hotel for family on a budget. Lovely little garden.

The wardrobe shelf kept falling, needs repair. PLEASE oil the screeching bathroom door hinges! Would be great to have some plates and cutlery, as the room has a microwave.
