The staff were super nice and helpful, they kept our baggage in the morning as we arrived too early (in a non locked section, but under a camera). They have an all day kitchen open with basic needs like milk, bread, butter, jam and cereal. This was super helpful in the morning, but also when we just need some water or tea. Location is excellent, quiet and close to the metro.
The thermostat did not work so it was a bit cold in the morning, but we didn't ask for any help either, so that's our fault. You can hear a bit through the walls, but other guests were very respectful and considerate. The biggest negative is that we had no drawer or cupboards or anything like that in the room, just a small table and some hangers, but there was enough floor space to put our open luggage there.

My daughter and I stayed for one night before heading to an appointment at the US Consulate the next morning. About a 10-min walk down Miller St, super easy even with luggage. Quaint old hotel beautifully restored. No issues with noise. Comfy bed. Clean bathroom. Lovely common room with tea and coffee. Woolworths in walking distance up the road. Enjoyed a great dinner in the bistro downstairs. Staff were super friendly!
Check-in/out is via the hotel bar downstairs and unfortunately we didn’t realise it wouldn’t be open the morning of check-out for us to store our luggage while we attended our appointment. Not a huge issue as we only had hand luggage but had to take it with us to the appointment and breakfast. Just something to be aware of if wanting to store luggage before the bar opens.

Great location, help yourself breakfast, tea toast coffee cereal was very good, food at night was great, with one major exception, we arrived early and were let into our room which was much appreciated, we were told about the new metro station which was a five minute walk away, and brilliant for getting around the city
We had burgers on the specials menu, and they were disgustingly, Nothing but gristle and fat, Neither of us could eat them, all the other meals were great, especially the steaks,

I had a really pleasant stay at The Northshore Hotel. For the price, it was exceptional value for money — easily one of the best in its category. What really stood out: The breakfast room was bright, inviting, and a lovely way to start the day. The staff were genuinely friendly and helpful, which made the whole experience warm and welcoming. Lovely room, comfortable and quiet I slept like a log. If you're looking for an affordable, well-located hotel in Sydney with charm and great service, I'd definitely recommend The Northshore Hotel.

What a great opportunity to catch up with my 2 sisters and respective spouses. the upstairs dining/sitting area provided privacy. It was back to the home of the bears for us all. the kitchen facilities for breakfast were good and staff were happy to find things to suit our tastes. One night we ordered dinner at the bar and it was brought upstairs to us. The renovations to the pub are exceptional
That we couldn't stay longer

The King Suite was fantastic! Perfect for a quick visit to Sydney with a very active 8 year old. The large room gave him plenty to explore & get excited about. The bed was lovely & comfortable, the bathroom extremely generous in size. Nice to be able to open the big old windows for fresh air. The fully equipped kitchenette & sitting room were a welcome addition to our stay. Plenty of street parking if you're only staying for the night. The renovations of this grand old hotel are beautiful, I'll happily stay here again.

The kitchen /dining /lounge area is a great facility and nice way to meet fellow travellers. Also having breakfast included was really nice as it was an easy way to start the day with cereal and toast and coffee, felt just like home
Not much to dislike except that the pub downstairs was pretty rowdy after the Saturday game across the road but settled down after 10pm. Pleased that you don’t stay open too late as it would make sleeping difficult

Excellent stay..Staff are absolutely lovely. We had the shared bathroom which was perfectly fine and there is an additional toilet if needed. Probably about a 5 min walk to Victoria Cross Metro station which was excellent.
Would be great if there was a sideboard or table of sorts for your personal bathroom things in the shared bathroom, just so not having to place on the floor

Beautifully decorated room with the bonus of an opening window onto a quiet courtyard. Breakfast room and guest lounge were again, beautifully decorated, comfortable with all you would require. Bus stop beside historic North Sydney Oval directly over the road making it very easier to get around. Don't let the thought of staying in a pub put you off. As a single woman traveller I felt welcome and at ease.
I would have liked someone to carry my small bag up the stairs but that's probably being a bit precious.

Great location. Very handy. I didn’t really get to use the facilities as was a quick stay but I’d try the bistro next time, was nice and busy. Loved my room but could not get the aircon to play ball. Maybe it’s me!
Not much. I’d stay again. I suppose it’s not in the heart of North Sydney but it is great value for money and the rooms are better than you would expect.
