The location is great, right on Central Station handy to trains, buses & light rail. The room was light bright & airy, though no ability (other than draughty windows) to get fresh air into the room. Blinds provided good blocking of light at night

The room I had was on the second floor directly above the night club entrance which meant noisy groups leaving woke me several times on the first night. Free earplugs from reception did help on subsequent nights, useful to block out heavy bass that sounded like it was coming from my bathroom, yet was 3 floors below me!

Pros: 1. 5 minutes away from the central station (connects to the airport). 2. Amazing programs - Free and inexpensive drinks and activities, parties, local tours. 3. Easy to meet fellow travelers. 4. Many amazing staff. 5. Kitchen has multi-use: Party and lounge area. 6. Great WIFI. 7. Quiet and respectful space - users and staff are courteous. 8. Good iron and ironing board at the laundry room. 9. Side bar. 10. Minutes from Paddy's market.

Cons: 1. Early closure of access to kitchen: Close from 10PM to 6AM and 1:50PM to 3PM is crazy. 2. Small room at 621. Staff Cerys immediately changed the room to 622, which is much bigger and quieter. 3. Thin wall/ partition - Could hear smacking doors and audible voice from the outside of the room. 4. One male receptionist was unhelpful when I moved in - request for extra pillow or two, and it was as though I owned him a few million dollars - he did not bring any pillow. 5. Only able to access the washroom on the floor I stayed - when the toilet is cleaned, out of luck. 6. Side bar can be a liability as users might be profiled whence negative experience. 7. Can be a distance from Circular Quay (30 minutes walk). 8. No open window - can be warm at times.

The location was fantastic, easy walk to Central station and there are numerous excellent cafes and restaurants within 5-10 minute walk. The room was a double bed and was very clean. It had a welcome pack of toiletries, which was very convenient and also featured a robe to hang clothes on and store suitcases, a desk and chair as well as a flat screen tv. The hostel has a very friendly vibe going for it and the staff were helpful and nothing was too much to ask, even leaving my bag before and after checkout was no problem. The kitchen was well stock with pots and pans and enough fridges for everyone and the dining room was clean. On a side note, there were no cockroaches.. unlike my first hostel :( I rang the night before checking in to say why I would be arriving at 8am.. and I was offered the key to the bathroom facilities so I could freshen up which I appreciated.

I would have liked to see some tea/coffee for free in the kitchen. While I know hostels are generally noisy places, it would have been nice to have a noise curfew after 1am to 7am.. I was woken up numerous times by yelling, screaming and slamming doors. In the third floor womens toilets, some of the toilet seats are not secured properly, leading them to slide to one side when sitting down. It was really nice to have a double bed private room but the mattress was super.. super.. thin and I honestly wouldn't have been able to stay more than two nights as my back would have given out. However, I would still recc this place to everyone and I wouldn't hesitate in coming back for another 1-2 night stay.

They call this a hostel, with its shares dormitories, but that's where the comparison ends! For all intensive purposes Wake Up! Is a hotel, with modern facilities, amazing cleanliness, and accommodating staff. Location is exceptional and a perfect stopping point in transit. Cannot recommend more!

Perhaps the only down side is that you cannot hire or borrow a lock for bags in your room. Lockers are provided however don't come with combination locks etc. It would be ideal if locks could be hired from reception rather than having to purchase one in the CBD.

2nd time we stayed for a night in this Hostel for a stop-over. Great location and good value for money. The check-in is easy and the staff is very friendly. It offers many activities as well as hosts event. Being a hostel, it is still a very good address for individuals or couples to stay in the private rooms as it is quiet. During the 2 stays we never had issues with loud groups or similar.

Unfortunately, there is currently (and temporarily) constructions going on next to the train station that are also carried out during night. We were unfortunate to have a room facing it. Though, with ear plugs (that you get for free) it is manageable.

The most sociable hostel ever!! It’s so easy to meet new people at all the events every day. Adam, Angus and Casey are the most welcoming and open minded people, no party would be the same without their entertainment (especially the singing at trivia)!! The kitchen is spacious and really clean, bathrooms are mostly good

Biggest downside is that the hostel is really missing a common room/ tv room or something like that… the lobby area just really doesn’t do the job, it’s not really set up to actually chill there and meet people (most other hostels have a space like this)

The property was clean and comfortable. The room was large with lots of storage space. The bathrooms were clean and overall I enjoyed my stay. I chose this hostel primarily for its location across from Sydney Central....this meant I didn't have to carry my bags as far to get to the airport.

I didn't like that you had to pay to rent a towel. I've stayed at many hostels where a towel was included. I also didn't love that there was a club in the basement every night. It was unnecessarily loud in the lobby during the evening when I needed to call home. The kitchen would've been a quieter space to make the call but unfortunately it is closed in the evenings after 10 pm. Also, the elevator was the slowest elevator on the face of the planet!

The experience was incredible!! The bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, all the common areas were clean and organized. The hostel has many activities every day and it was amazing!! It's not cheap, but worth it. If one day i go back to Sydney i will book again with you, guys!

The kitchen is small for how many guests they have, we don't have a good space to cook. The bathroom they have sensor light, but sometimes it didn't work, we were in the bathroom and the light turned off, like if we weren't there.

Location was perfect - right next to central station and also had great tram links. I also went to a free pizza night and was surprised at how much pizza they actually gave out! I was expecting one slice but the pizzas just kept coming!

I'm not sure if it's to do with the acoustics of the room or something, but the kitchen/dining area is always unbearably loud! I ended up eating my food in reception because I couldn't hear my music in my AirPods it was so loud in there. And it's like that every evening!
