Great location, very comfortable bed, recently updated room with all facilities. The staff were friendly and helpful.

The hotel is being renovated at the moment and the lift is out of action for a fairly long time. Staff are readily available to carry baggage up and down the stairs. We only became aware of this by receiving an email after we had completed the booking. The hotel was worth the inconvenience but being told about the lift after the booking seemed below Booking's normal transparency.

Great location for walking access to trams and shopping. Very clean room and bathroom, comfortable bed and air conditioning. My room was in a corner with no neighbouring rooms so I rarely heard anything from other occupants, but could see how in a different room the noise might travel a fair bit. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room had a mini fridge and kettle which was nice.

I didn't have noise from other residents but the room is right above a busy street alley, so there was a lot of noise of drunk/loud people through the night however ear plugs blocked it out. Definitely don't plan on staying without a pair. Fixed shower head was a really weird height and position, making the water come out almost horizontally and was annoying even at my height of 5'3 so if you're an average height or tall person I'm not quite sure how you'd manage.

Had a single room with a separate little nook for the bed and a "lounge" for the telly. Very spacious for a single room! Clean!! Window in "bed nook". En suite with all toiletries. Mini fridge, iron+ironing board, hairdryer. Found the writing on the spare toilet paper wrapper funny: "who gives a crap"😁. Loved the brick wall.! Reasonably quiet too, considering the central location. About 400 - 500 meters from central train station. Light rail just around the corner (Paddy's Market and Chinatown stops). Takes roughly 30 mins to walk George street to Circular Quay. Obviously Light rail gets you there quicker. Woolworths 100 m away. George street and Pitt street with all the shops almost on your doorstep.

The Ultimo is in a great location, close to restaurants, shopping and just a short and easy walk away from Darling Harbor, where I attended a conference. I normally stay at one of the hotel chains near the ICC, but will likely chose The Ultimo next time. The room was small, yet cozy with a very comfortable bed, clean bathroom and shower and coffee making facilities. The hotel itself has a nice vibe. I had an issue with my shower (no hot water) in the morning and the communication flow from reception, keeping me up to date with the maintenance progress until it was fixed was fantastic.

The aircon, which was needed for heating, blasts directly on the bed and is quite noisy (earplugs fixed it). I had an issue with my shower (no hot water) in the morning which was fixed within an hour. I still missed a meeting, which is not so cool.

The Ultimo Hotel is in Sydney's haymarket district. It is located in a restored old industrial building so ceilings are very hight, there is beatiful feature brickwork and the property has a uniqe character. the rooms are not as large as they appear in the photos and the extra space that may be available in some rooms was not ther is my room (no chairas to asit on, only stools). The bthroom was huge, the shower hot nd poweful and the facilities well if not perfectly provided (no shelf space in the bathroom).

There was a lot of advice that the lifts are currently unavailable due to work to add an extra storey to the building. While the hotel provides people to carry luggage up t the rooms, they do not carry you - there are 50 steeps steps to the second floor which is fine if you are young and fit but for an older asthmatic in the cold the journey was challenging!

We were upgraded to a family room which gave us a lot more room, so as we were staying for 2 nights, this was much appreciated. Proximity to Paddy's market & Chinese town is brilliant. Also we walked from central station & it is a very easy walk down to the hotel.

I didn't like that the lift wasn't working due to renovations even though we were aware of this beforehand. I didn't realise that accomdation starts on the 1st floor, so still had a lot of stairs to climb & seeing I have a knee issue, this made it very difficult even though the guy in reception took our bags up and down when we left, which was greatly appreciated. The guy also supplied ice for our wine drinks.

Location, large bed and washroom, mini fridge, full length mirror, key card access, front desk staff were friendly and said hi every morning

Noticed some small stains/dirty places in my room on the first day (not bothersome but you would expect it to be spotless). The room is a bit small so not sure where they expect you to be able to open up a large suitcase. Two of the front desk ladies weren't very helpful/friendly compared to the male front desk workers, and didn't give me any information about the hotel when I checked in (e.g. check out time, how to enter the hotel after late hours, where the stairs to go up were, etc.). I asked for a lotion refill in the washroom on the second day but never got any, but it's not a big deal

Brilliant location, clean, comfortable beds. All of the staff were extremely friendly, and made us feel welcomed. Check in was smooth. We appreciated the luggage storage at the concierge desk when we arrived before check in time. By the time we checked in later that evening, the suitcases were already waiting for us in our room.

Space was indeed tight, as accurately described upon booking. Might be difficult to unpack and spread out if planning to stay for more than a night or two. We only stayed for one night so this wasn’t an issue for us, and we thought the place was well worth the price!

Very friendly staff. Also liked the fact that there was an iron and ironing board in the room, and plenty of toiletries. TV has Chromecast too which was great. I liked the exposed brickwork in the room too. Gave it a loft-like feel. The location was particularly good for Central Station, Chinatown and Darling Harbour. 20+ mins walk to Surry Hills and beyond.

Improvement work was taking place at the hotel resulting in the lifts not being available and losing access to the main staircase for short periods of time on one day of my stay. The hotel did inform me well in advance, and communication was good, but it was still a little inconvenient considering it wasn't particularly cheap. Couldn't be helped though and I wouldn't mark them down for it as it was handled well.

A unique situation for us but the staff were outstanding - such excellent service!! I had booked this as a feature was accessibility (for wheelchair) - however as they had renovations happening, the lift wasn't operational. They notified me of this but I was only booking the day prior so was out of time. When we arrived and confirmed we couldn't stay - they did everything under the sun to arrange accommodation for us, and of course issued a refund. I was incredibly pleased with this kindness and service - rang at least 6 hotels to arrange a booking for us.
