Very central, friendly staff, clean, enjoyed the refurbished rooms.

If you are after a couple stay away, best to avoid holiday periods. Packed with families and kids noisily enjoying the pool/ fitness area and running through top levels of hotel.

I recently stayed at the Mercure Sydney Hotel, and I couldn’t be happier with my experience! Everything about this stay was absolutely wonderful. The room was incredibly spacious, offering plenty of comfort and an amazing view from the 14th floor—such a treat to wake up to! The breakfast was another highlight, with a fantastic variety of fresh and delicious options to start the day right. I also loved the amenities: the gym, pool, and sauna were perfect for unwinding after a busy day, and everything was well-maintained and clean. Another huge advantage is the hotel’s location—it’s just a few minutes’ walk from the train station, making travel and exploring Sydney so convenient. I highly recommend the Mercure Sydney to anyone looking for a comfortable, enjoyable, and hassle-free stay. I’d gladly stay here again in the future!

We stayed 2 nights in the mercure with our two small children. The location of the hotel is incredibly handy as it is literally a 5 minute walk from central station, and surrounded by multiple convenience stores with on also attached directly to the hotels ground floor which made it easy to get small goods and snacks. The staff at check in were lovely and respectful & our room was ready 2 hrs before check in time. The lobby is often quite busy as this hotel seems to be popular due to its location and affordable pricing. We booked a twin bedroom & while the room was clean and updated with easy to use aircon & colorful LED lighting, the room itself was quite small.. leaving only a small pathway infront on the beds and between the wall & mounted tv. Unfortunately there is no streaming services for the tv, only normal TV. Although the tv does offer the option of chrome cast if you have the app downloaded on your phone. We attempted to connect ours but was unable to detect our rooms tv and kept picking up the tv from a room two doors down. We tried but failed on multiple devices. The hotels facilities were awsome, with a decent sized heated indoor pool on the top floor & sauna. They have a small gym but with limited supplys/machines. Buffet breakfast was also very busy/popular but with good reason. The quality of food was lovely & cooked well. Altho the selection of breakfast foods is not as large as we'd like due to the added specific foods such as fried rice, noodle dishes, congee, vegetables, but it does show the hotel has good diversity. Those types of meals for breakfast is just not our thing. The staff was lovely & respectful to everyone equally. The only real complaint I could make was that the lofts were incredibly slow. And although there was multiple lifts on each floor, it looked as tho only 1 lift was actually moving from floor to floor.

Stayed here before, friendly & approachable staff, great location - close to the Light Rail & Central Station. 5 minute walk to Broadway Shopping Centre, 2 minute walk to Haymarket & Chinatown. Off street parking available. Main bus stop out the front also

Wish the parking was a little cheaper ($50 a day, but you get $5/day off if you are an Accor Member), & the rooms had a bit better lighting. We couldn’t really feel the air-con working that well. Will still stay here again though as besides these minor issues it’s a great place to stay.

The breakfast was a lovely buffet. What you would except. The two men at the concerige desk were amazing. No question was too much trouble. It would have been extra helpful if they had suggested the light rail service instead of using the train. I asked them how to get to the station, I wished they had asked me where to was that l wanted to go! The light rail is great as you can see where you are going. That is why l choose to stay in George street. Unfortunately you don’t see any light rail signs when you leave the area, although it is a five minute walk.

They didn’t have a spa.

Everything was great..besides the concierge

The concierge, didn't appreciate how we asked for help from the front staff for our luggage, they said they would notify the concierge that in three minutes our uber would arrive and he was to take the cart with our luggage outside. Just a little over two minites he left to go stand elsewhere watching from afar not caring.. didn't appreciate that at all, rather it was really rude as we couldn't take the cart outside to the taxi due to it having an issue with the wheels so he just stood watching as I unloaded all my luggages in a rush and took them all to the uber, it was a struggle for me doing it all by myself as a physically weak person and this happened at 3:30am when it wasn't at all busy, just him doing nothing.

The location was great after a long train journey arriving late at night. Travelling to the tourist hot spots was easy with buses, trains and the light train network all within a few minutes walking distance, we stayed 3 nights at the Mercure. Proximity to ChinaTown and Spice lane was a bonus. The room was good (two large beds) for a family of 4 and we used the breakfast bar every day which was well worth the money with two teenager boys who eat and eat.

Kids used the pool which was a bit smaller than I anticipated from the photos and could be better ventilated which was my only negative comment.

The staff were very friendly and welcoming. I loved my check in process. It was super easy. The location was amazing, and we were surrounded by a multitude of choices in all directions. It was easy finding places to shop, have a coffee, go for a walk, or dinner. The room itself was nice and cosy. The bed was comfortable and decent views of George St down below. The toilet and shower facilities were clean and tidy.

The bed was comfy but I feel like it could have been better. I could have used a bit more pillows, as I found my neck and back hurting when I sat on the bed to watch the TV due to the lack of support. The TV itself wasn't exactly centred to the bed, which made it difficult for viewing on such an weird angle. The shower could use a slip resistant mat inside. Just my suggestion. I think it would go a long way to reassuring safety. Only one side of the lift went to the basement Carpark, which was strange, as you had to call and catch different lifts to get to your car in some instances. It was annoying. Also, using multiple cards to access the lift and not the room was a bit extra and vice versa. One card to do both would have sufficed.

Love the customisable lighting in the rooms and the location is extremely convenient. Directly outside is a bus stop, you're about a 15 minute walk all round from any main shopping centre or event and Darling Square and there are SO MANY food places nearby!

The beds could definitely use more blankets, it gets very cold in winter so you have to turn the heating up fairly high to stay warm. It would also be lovely if the rooms were equipped with microwaves so you can heat up food or heat packs!

Loved the Breakfast and ordered Dinner in Roon and it was hot and well cooked and presented

I was very disappointed with the lighting in the room as you could not read, I ate and could see clearer when the TV was showing bright colours! It might have been better if the lamp on the table was working but this was my only disappointment in my visit! There was a broken balloon behind the lounge chair when I pulled it forward, that had been missed by cleaners but room was very clean Thank You for the opportunity to say how unhappy I was with the lighting but happy with everything else 🙏🏼
