Location is great, next to a variety of transport including light rail, train, and tourist buses. Breakfast was also great, excellent variety, however the room was very dark/dimly lit. Not too sure why, made it harder to see, especially with kids.

Room service was a little slow. Ended up having to stay in the room for a day with sick kids. Had to wait til 3pm for new bedding to arrive which left us with few places to sit for the day until it was changed. We also had to request for more face washers each day. Not sure why only 1 was supplied when there were 4 people staying in the room.

Very central, friendly staff, clean, enjoyed the refurbished rooms.

If you are after a couple stay away, best to avoid holiday periods. Packed with families and kids noisily enjoying the pool/ fitness area and running through top levels of hotel.

Very central to the train station and close proximity to eateries, Woolworths and Chemist Warehouse. Quiet, hardly heard the traffic despite located on a main road. Buffet breakfast offered a variety of food and choices! Exceptional service. The swimming pool, gym and dry sauna were also fantastic additions and clean, hygienic. We were able to store our luggage with concierge and explore the city for a couple of hours before we could check in at 3pm.

Air conditioner didn’t quite cool down the room. The lights were controlled by a panel switch on the wall by the mini fridge which we didn’t figure out until the second day. Instructions on how to adjust the light setting and brightness, or some notice prior about the lighting, would have been advisable.

That the Hotel is so close to Central Station for country travellers to walk across the road with their luggage ( I am 62 and found this very easy and simple). The location to the shopping centre a block walk away or the take-away food shops across the road. Everything is at your fingertips.....walk to the trams

I requested 2 x blankets for the room as I am always cold - I don't like having the air con up high and with the sliding door to the balcony slightly ajar for fresh air I tend to freeze. The blankets that were delivered to my door were nothing better than to describe as "dog blankets" - rough, small frayed ribbon and simply bloody awlful to touch. Bath towels are small and should be king size - we are not all skinny tiny people who travel!

The location, you can walk to the city and also car park right under the hotel, unlike most hotel we went to always park some other place, which is not handy

The room been clean but there is a spot (toothpaste mark) that has been there since we came and thought they gonna clean them in our first morning, but no it was still there until we checked out, idk if they didnt see it or something, but even you have lots of room cleaner, they all missed the very one spot that i can see it straight away but they didnt? Also the front desk staff quite not friendly looking (most of the time) not smiling and rarely will greet you

We ended up checking in late as our plane was delayed. The person who was on the reception desk was so lovely and made us feel so welcome. The room was comfortable and exactly what we needed after a long day of travelling.

The lights were a little difficult to work out! There was no other light on in the room (we got in quite late), and so we were having to get a torch working on our phones to see what we needed to do. All ok once we sorted it, but maybe having at least a small light come on when you turn in the lightswitch would help people then work out the controls a little easier. We ended up having a small impromptu rave, with the lights changing colour every 10 seconds as we pressed control settings.

I recently stayed at the Mercure Sydney Hotel, and I couldn’t be happier with my experience! Everything about this stay was absolutely wonderful. The room was incredibly spacious, offering plenty of comfort and an amazing view from the 14th floor—such a treat to wake up to! The breakfast was another highlight, with a fantastic variety of fresh and delicious options to start the day right. I also loved the amenities: the gym, pool, and sauna were perfect for unwinding after a busy day, and everything was well-maintained and clean. Another huge advantage is the hotel’s location—it’s just a few minutes’ walk from the train station, making travel and exploring Sydney so convenient. I highly recommend the Mercure Sydney to anyone looking for a comfortable, enjoyable, and hassle-free stay. I’d gladly stay here again in the future!

Check-in was made very easy by the amazing hotel staff. Superb breakfast- the wait staff were exceptional, kitchen staff always ensured that the buffet was packed. Great location- within walking distance to the train station, convenience stores, Spice Alley, and a shopping centre. Clean room- very comfortable bed. I also liked the led lights in the bedroom (mirror, and balcony)

I had to step up to get onto the balcony, and also to get into the bathtub/shower. This can be a hazard. The wait for the lifts at breakfast time can take up to 15 mins from the third floor.

Close to Central and China town. It was easy to get everywhere. Good location. A lot of choice of restaurant just cross the street. Staff are very friendly. We didn't get the room we booked for the night but staff was trying to look up for us. My husband and I decided not to worry. Then we received an hour extra for check out. It was really nice from that staff coz we could sleep a bit longer after a long trip from train. The service from staff were very nice. We could left our bags after check out then went for sightseeing with friends before jump back to train. Thank you.

Bathroom was bit moldy. The swimming pool is good but sauna was a bit old and not hot enough, not sure if the sauna is due for maintenance.

We stayed 2 nights in the mercure with our two small children. The location of the hotel is incredibly handy as it is literally a 5 minute walk from central station, and surrounded by multiple convenience stores with on also attached directly to the hotels ground floor which made it easy to get small goods and snacks. The staff at check in were lovely and respectful & our room was ready 2 hrs before check in time. The lobby is often quite busy as this hotel seems to be popular due to its location and affordable pricing. We booked a twin bedroom & while the room was clean and updated with easy to use aircon & colorful LED lighting, the room itself was quite small.. leaving only a small pathway infront on the beds and between the wall & mounted tv. Unfortunately there is no streaming services for the tv, only normal TV. Although the tv does offer the option of chrome cast if you have the app downloaded on your phone. We attempted to connect ours but was unable to detect our rooms tv and kept picking up the tv from a room two doors down. We tried but failed on multiple devices. The hotels facilities were awsome, with a decent sized heated indoor pool on the top floor & sauna. They have a small gym but with limited supplys/machines. Buffet breakfast was also very busy/popular but with good reason. The quality of food was lovely & cooked well. Altho the selection of breakfast foods is not as large as we'd like due to the added specific foods such as fried rice, noodle dishes, congee, vegetables, but it does show the hotel has good diversity. Those types of meals for breakfast is just not our thing. The staff was lovely & respectful to everyone equally. The only real complaint I could make was that the lofts were incredibly slow. And although there was multiple lifts on each floor, it looked as tho only 1 lift was actually moving from floor to floor.
