The hotel is in a really great location. It was close to the things we went to Sydney for. It was clean, comfortable and a great price. You can hear the trains all night but that was to be expected, it is across from central railway station. The staff were nice and friendly. It was easy to check in and out. There was a good pub style food menu for lunches and dinner. It was excellent for the price.
We stayed on a weekend. It was a bit tricky tracking down a reasonable place for breakfast on Sunday morning. Most places nearby were closed or had limited menus, which wasn't great given food intolerances, but this really was minor overall.

So many positives. All staff were very friendly and helpful, particularly the lady that checked us in on our arrival Monday afternoon. She was exceptional in giving us all the information we needed, including happy hour times and the dinner time special. Our room was large, clean and comfortable and provided plenty of tea, coffee and milk as well as complimentary waters. Also plenty of toiletries provided for our three night stay. The room was made up each day which we didn’t expect. The pub drink prices were reasonable, particularly during happy hour times. We ate at the restaurant twice and the food was excellent and reasonably priced, particularly the specials. The position was excellent with Central and the light rail stop directly over the road. We will definitely stay again on our next trip to Sydney.
The only complaint we had was that the shower water was only just warm with the hot tap completely on and no cold on at all.

The location. I flew in to SYD on Thursday evening and left late morning on the Sunday. I wanted something close to Central Station and to the Light Rail lines, as I was going to train up and back to Newcastle, to spend three hours there, on the Friday. On the Saturday I was meeting family and friends throughout the day, and joining family to see. “Hamilton” that evening so, being in my mid 80’s, the Light Rail service was perfect and much used. I had Room 4, on the corner and on the floor immediately above the Bar area. The room was large, well furnished (I did admire the red cedar wardrobe, sideboard, desk and the very comfortable bed and chairs) The en-suite was good and quiet and spacious. For a city centre room, I found it quiet enough - I would’ve been disappointed not to hear some noise but there was not that disturbed my sleep. Although I did have a nightcap in the Bar each evening as I arrived in from my forays, I didn’t eat in as I was sharing meals downtown with family. Never did noise from the Bar area intrude into my solitude in the room.
There was nothing I didn’t like.

The location opposite Central Station is great to be able to access all parts of Sydney and beyond. The room was very spacious with stylish furniture and a very comfortable bed. Large bathroom with an excellent shower. I had room 4, which faced the front of the building on the first floor above the pub. The pub was very quiet, but I was there on a Wednesday and Thursday night only. House maid staff very friendly.
The tram line is right outside, and the building shakes when they go past. That may be a problem if you are a light sleeper. They run quite late and start early. The staff are not over friendly apart from the Asian lady behind the bar who always had a smile... Overall, it was a very pleasant stay, thank you.

My sister and I shared a deluxe double room: two queen beds with good space, and a neat en-suite. The location, close to Sydney's Central Railway Station, was perfect for our further travel. I've stayed here a few times now and it has always been a comfortable hotel. The generous quantity of toiletries was remarkable. The staff member who first allowed us to leave our large luggage (we arrive two hours before check-in) and later checked us in, was efficient, friendly and thorough in her introduction to the hotel's facilities and other matters.
Being mid-Summer, the room was quite warm, despite the air-con. The TV worked but it was impossible to actually get a program to watch.

Beautiful room with classic decor, lots of space. Bathroom very classy. Big telly, comfy bed. Easy walk from central. Handy to 24hr pubs. Staff extremely friendly and welcoming. No noise from pub below, and no need to even go into the pub aside from check in, if pubs aren't your scene. Could not hear any other guests. Cheap and quick uber to Moore Park for an event.
No fault of the venue, just found the light rail a bit noisy during the night/early morning hours. Would have loved to open a window for fresh air but made do with the air con which was just as lovely.

Spacious room, has all the necessities. Love the bistro for dinner downstairs. Perfect location.
I was accidentally double charged for the room on check in and due to the weekend couldn’t receive my funds back for 4 days. $764 is a lot of money for me to be missing so it was stressful but it was resolved. I would still stay here again but will be mindful on check in. Tram right next to the property also takes a bit of getting used to when sleeping but no fault of the hotel.

Fantastic location. Clean, comfortable with everything we need. We could walk into the city or go anywhere very easily with Central Station right across the road. There are plenty of food choices close by and cheap pub food right here. There's also a park across the road. Great price.
It's a little noisy but not bad. There is a little too much light from behind curtains. Can't open windows for fresh air. No access to catch-up TV, etc. Bed lamps are not bright enough for reading. All this is usual anyway, though. Can't complain given the cost.

Big room with everything we needed. Quiet. Secure -- separate key card entry from pub downstairs. Hotel is perfectly placed for transport -- light rail, trains and buses. It takes less than 15 minutes to get to the airport by train. The bistro down stairs in the pub serves good food, so is very handy.
The huge lights which illuminate the building which come on at 7,15pm daily and stay on all night seeped into our room, The curtains kept out the light but light shone in above and to the sides of the curtains making the room very bright all through the night. We asked for 2 key cards but it seemed too much trouble to make a second card, A single key card was inconvenient,

Hi. We had a 2nd floor room right next to the lift and therefore just above the trams as they go around the curve. We brought our earplugs and we really needed them to sleep. Having had the room below on our first visit and finding the trams shook the room and made a lot of loud noise we were apprehensive, but the combination of double glazing and good earplugs enabled us to get a decent sleep.
A room further away from the trams would have been good. I did request this., but we still ended up over the tram. Otherwise our stay was great.
