Amazing location only around 800m away from central station and close to the stadium I was attending. Check in at 1pm which is so convenient, friendly and fast staff check in was so smooth. There’s one bathroom and two shared toilets, the bed is new and comfortable and rooms at airconed.

Can we quite loud for anyone intending to go to bed early as there is a pub on the bottom floor that’s open to 12am and the furniture is quite dated and old (apart from the bed) but that’s all shown in the photos.

Very Deco and rustic. Great bones, great location and bed was comfy. Great food and beer! Staff were friendly, and did I mention my steak was perfect?

Over all clean, maybe the bathroom could do with a better cleaning under the wooden grates. There's a few stairs to room. 2 toilets, one bathroom which is shower over bath. Air-conditioning in room. Kettle outside room. No fridge.

The Shakies is in a great part of town and the pub itself is excellent. Great food, great vibe and friendly, helpful staff.

The rooms and bathroom facilities need a little bit of attention but this is a minor complaint, sort of adds to the rustic, lived in feel of the place.

We loved the warm welcome and generous and kind care we received from Em, we loved the location and the food was good too. Also loved the happy good morning we received each morning from the cleaner, what a hard working smiley fellow he is!

Nothing not to like really. The old man living upstairs probably could use a lesson in toilet hygiene!

Perfect location. 5 minute tram ride to entertainment quarter, same for Central Station. Lots of places to get food nearby. The old fashioned rooms were a bit different.

Staff was really friendly, bed were really comfortable and the rooms temperature control was great

Wifi would have been nice but not a deal breaker. And the showers pressure was quite low, again the rest of the accommodation was amazing!! And I would gladly stay again.

Classic old pub with fabulous upstairs accomodation that you rarely see in cities. Lovely team, I hope nothing ever changes. Shower was amazing

Great spot, close to tram. Quiet, but also in central spot. Close to Surry Hills commercial center.

Showers were cold. Toilets upstairs were dirty.

The location was fantastic - easy to reach and close to great restaurants and cafes. The place has a lot of Australian character and a traditional pub vibe. The staff were casual and friendly.
