Super clean and nice design
Nitpick, but this hotel should stop marketing itself as 5 star. It is 4 star at best; I struggle to name a trait that makes it 5 star, it does not even have the basics like a swimming pool, gym, let alone things like valet. It is just a super new and clean hotel with some notion of interior design.

This is a colorful and quirky hotel. Perfect location and an excellent neighborhood near CDB. Not far from the train station and a short walk to many restaurants and pubs.
I can confirm what many other reviews say about a grumpy old guy at the front desk. I’m an old guy too. There is no excuse for that kind of rudeness. In fact he should know better. However, everyone else was helpful and friendly. If you don’t mind, light switches on the other side of the room from the bed,and extremely bizarre bathroom configuration. This is the place for you. Form over function.

The location, the decor throughout the hotel. The space in the room. Comfy bed. Friendly enough service.
There wasn't clear signage to the hotel reception v.s apartment entrance as it is in the same building with the apartment. Google maps took me to the apartment entry. The funky bathroom design/ set up is more for look than functionality. The carpet in my room can do with some deep clean/ wash as there were stains in a lot of places. None of the above are deal breakers though. Next time I will know this hotel is up on a hill and will be prepared as it is a decent hotel with the rate I paid.

The location, size of room, and staff members were all perfect. It’s a lovely hotel with loads of character in both the lobby and rooms. Location-wise, there were at least three bus stops within 1-3 minute walk that easily got you all over Sydney easily. There was a great cafe downstairs that we got coffee from every day and had a great breakfast at one day as well. Our friends also stayed here and they were allowed to check in very early which was super nice.
Only two things and these are probably personal preference: the lighting in the rooms was full-on blast overhead lights or way too weak bedside lamps and the carpet, though interesting, was quite busy so I kept tripping over things that I usually would have seen (and also should have been put up anyways).

Nice modern building with spacious rooms and a stylish lobby with lots of seating and a cafe. Bed was comfortable and hotel was very quiet. Clean laundry room located downstairs, but for exorbitant prices ($15).
Room was very oddly laid out — a large chair takes up a lot of space, requiring the bed to be pushed against the wall and giving access only to one side. The bathroom was also really weird — heavy glass door swings inside and out and is both the door for the bathroom AND for the shower. Not very accessible and the floor gets very wet with a shower.

Very unique design, comfy and exotic rooms with nice views
2 of the female staff members treated us really well, but there was one male staff was soo rude for no reason, not welcoming, not even good customer service skills, at the very first impression it was really disappointing for us but later on after that may be his shift was finished or something, two of the other female members were soo nice, very helpful. We get treated really well. That's what makes us giving positive review for the hotel, otherwise everything was so nice.

room was big, good to work in. Pretty functional too. Hotel was at a good location, had a little coffee bar with good coffee.
(this is one for Booking.com) my flight had to make an emergency stop halfway which resulted in me arriving in Sydney 1 night later. I contacted Booking.com what to do now, if the reservation could be adjusted. No reply until a couple of days later saying 'they were so happy it all went well'. It didnt go well, i paid for a night I could not use with 0 support. The hotel could not help me because booking was done via Booking.com (makes you wonder ....) for the rest, colored carpet looks great but needs a deep clean.

Smashing location near both Darlinghurst and Surrey Hills, close to numerous fun restaurants, a cinema, a rooftop bakery, and of course wine bars. A quick stroll gets one to Chinatown or the Museum. Easy access day or night, friendly front desk with a funky, colorful feel and mood music playing. Rooms were clean and comfy, no issues. Didn't eat breakfast but did enjoy several coffees in the morning. Wifi was fast and stable. Bathrooms clean and well lit. Highly recommend the Adge for folks who don't need a ton of amenities but do want to be in the thick of things.
Would have preferred a real desk or table in the room, but the tiny round one got the job done for using my laptop for 2 nights.

The hotel was as described and as the photos show. We liked the “funky”, colourful decor. The hotel served its purpose as a base, and had all the amenities we required. We appreciated the fridge and tea/coffee making facilities. It was close to a few bus routes and about 800m from the nearest train station. The coffee shop at the entrance was very convenient and served good food.
The bathroom “cubicle” jutted into the room. Although unusual, we expected this, as it is as shown in the photos, but does make the room a little small. It meant one side of the double bed was against the wall and made it difficult for my husband (who is not large) to get out without disturbing me. Although the room was clean, the colourful carpet did not hide many grubby marks on it. It could do with a clean. Would we stay again? Yes. The price is good compared to many others in Sydney.

I loved the overall experience at the Adge Hotel and Residences. The room was impeccably clean, and the bed was super comfortable and spacious. The facilities were excellent, and I particularly enjoyed the large, swiveling TV that allowed me to watch movies from my laptop. The personalized welcome message on the TV and the local recommendations were a nice touch, and I loved visiting the recommended Bourke Street Bakery. The staff was also fantastic!
Honestly, there was nothing I disliked. Everything was great! I did note, however, that the windows could open wide and the sill was quite low (15th floor), which might be a safety concern. I’m 5’1 and could lean my torso out through the window. Great view though :D
