The artwork displayed history of Sydney. The room was not only spacious, comfortable, clean & perfect for a little getaway it was laid out perfectly! The stairs are perfect The easy access to the room and properly with an electronic keypad access made it simple and light to travel! The staff are so sweet, hospitable and kind, he was nothing but a gem and made our short stay better. The hotel is right on Oxford st which was perfect as we got to travel towards Bondi, Surry hills, the eastern suburbs and then the city quite easily and with the trains, bus and light rail it was no hassle to travel or move around which was perfect!! It’s quant and a perfect little retreat to stay and I’d recommend it in a heartbeat as we will be returning to stay in the future!

Construction outside was a little noisy but wasn’t impactful or ruined our stay at all!

My room at City Budget was more like a home from home; it wasn’t just functional. Considering that it rained heavily on the first day of my stay, I was content to seek refuge from the elements ‘at home’. The hotel itself is a fairly short walk from Central Station, although the Maps App led me up a fairly steep stretch. I went back that way more than once, so then it was downhill, of course. There are plenty of places to eat along Oxford Street. I went to Bad Hombres for dinner one night, had breakfast at Hydeaway in Hyde Park and had pizza a little further along, at Macchiato, on the corner of Pitt and Liverpool Streets, but also ventured further afield. Sleeping was a breeze.

In retrospect, all was well. There was a bit of a to do about access codes, but that was eventually resolved.

The hotel is very well located! We could walk to most of the places we wanted to visit. There are plenty of bars and restaurants nearby, which was very convenient. The bedroom was spacious and comfortable, with air conditioning and a television. It's an old hotel, but that added to its charm. They also kept our bags after the check out so we could enjoy the city before our flight.

The bathroom was not very well cleaned; there were some hairs from previous guests. If it had been thoroughly cleaned, it would have been a great place.

the space is really big and comfortable, and it's really great value for a location so close to the cbd. travelled everywhere with bus 333 - really convenient. the staff were really helpful and friendly - they accommodated to our requests and were very flexible with it.

there was small bugs in the shower and i spotted a small cockroach. the room gets cold in the night and morning during winter, and the heater wasn't working too well, but they had provided us with additional warm blankets

This is well located near eateries and public transport. Beautiful old building with stacks of character. Nice, stylish furnishings , balcony, spacious interior. Good choice of handwash - loved EVERYTHING about this place! Manager went out of his way for me and was extremely easy to deal with. He is a true gem!

Nothing - but stairs may be a negative for some travellers - not me. It is close to Oxford St so some traffic noise may impact guests, but the walls are thick. I always travel with ear plugs so I slept soundly

The desk person carried all of our bags up to our room for us and text us when our room was ready. We could leave our bags there until we were ready to leave for the airport. The staff were helpful and curteous and smiley.

We arrived off an early morning flight and had no access through the main door until then despite calling contact numbers and codes for the door. The area is good for proximity to city center but a bit uncomfortable to be standing on the foot path in the cold for a couple of hoursThere was no lift. We had lots of bags. They were kindly taken up for us but a mission of several trips up and down stairs to get them down again.

I had a fantastic stay at this hotel! Upon arrival, I was pleasantly surprised with a complimentary room upgrade, which made my experience even more special. The staff were consistently polite, professional, and incredibly efficient—they really go above and beyond to make guests feel welcome. The check-in process was seamless and impressively fast, making the whole arrival experience smooth and stress-free. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for both comfort and excellent service.

Fantastic location on Oxford Street! The family room was spacious and has everything you need for a short stay. The room and bathroom facilities were very clean and a bonus was the locitaine shower amenities. Very friendly and hospitable staff. Easy check in and great communication. I will stay again 💕

Limited tea and coffee facilities with no plates, cutlery or microwave, but there are plenty of food options on your doorstep that can easily cover those needs.

Location was perfect for visiting a family member in St Vincent's Private Hospital. Ease of getting in after hours with a code. No fear of losing room key...just needed phone to access code. Room was very clean.

Small longlife milk for tea & coffee. Better explanation of parking options. While it is NOT the fault of the Crecy, it should be explained that Wilson's Parking at 70 Riley Street is not overnight parking as such. The gates are locked at a certain time and new daily rates start immediately after 6am. It's a pity there isn't an overnight deal for interstate hotel guests between the Crecy and Wilson's Parking at 70 Riley Street. The nearest Wilson's open 24 hours with an overnight rate is the Domain and that is not as convenient distance wise for visiting St Vincent's.

Fantastic location with great connections to public transport and good amenities right outside the door. The room itself was excellent, more than enough room, comfy beds/couch and a gorgeous balcony view. Check-in/out was very simple and quick and the free luggage holding service was super convenient. Friendly staff, clean and fresh room and overall a lovely place to stay.

Found an old syringe in the bathroom cabinet left by previous travelers, presumably overlooked by cleaning staff. Apart from that the room was very clean.
