The location was absolutely beautiful. Surry Hills has amazing bars and restaurants and is so close to everything you would need in Chinatown, Sydney CBD, Circular Quay etc. It is also right next to Central train station, and very connected to buses and trams, but everything I wanted to do was a nice walking distance anyway. The room (The Cosy Room) was gorgeous and much more spacious than I thought it would be, including having a completely separate bathroom with a door (the photos didn't look like this would be the case) and felt very luxurious. It also has lots of character, as the old building was once a convent.

The hotel is lovely, very boutique. The Honour Bar is a fantastic idea instead of snacks in your room and the variety was great. Loved the bath and the shower. Decor is modern and lovely and there are fantastic areas throughout the hotel to sit so you don't have to be in your room. I particularly loved the portraits in the stairwell and the stories of the criminals that inhabited Surry Hills! A nice touch of history. Staff were fantastic and very accommodating. Value for money in Sydney city was great Would stay here again.

Make sure you get a bigger room on a higher floor as they are much nicer. Family had a last minute room on the ground floor and it was very small. Ours on floor 3 was spacious and lovely. Not a lot of parking around and if you're walking be prepared for hills! Otherwise location is great!

The location is great, if you need to be in Scurry hills this is very central. There is a front and back entrance which is convenient. Self serfice bar with many drinks and free coffee. Very comfortable beds.

The breakfast was a bit underwhelming, it was a nice selection of pastries but not really savoury and the refill was not very accurate. The room I had was located near the piping system of the hotel so everytime anyone flushed a toilet or ran a shower or bath, it was very loud and noisy in my room. The door didn't close entirely so if someone slammed a door in the hallway, my door also moved in it's frame. Finally the door has a wide strip on the bottom that lets outside light in from the hallway. So for sound and light, room 304 is a nightmare.

We stayed as part of our honeymoon. When we arrived at 10am our room wasn't ready yet, but within an hour, we got a text that it was ready. When we came back, the agent at reception told us that they were upgrading us to their biggest suite since it was our honeymoon! The suite was so beautiful, and I was so touched by this gesture, I nearly started crying when we entered the suite. The suite was so spacious and comfortable, with the biggest soaking tub I have ever used, and a huge washroom complete with a double shower. It was a truly luxurious stay to kick off our honeymoon and we were very sad to leave.

No complaints! We had a great stay.

Work trip to Sydney was made very convenient and cosy thanks to the Crystalbrook. Great neighbourhood, a pleasant walk to public transport or even the city depending on the weather. All the little details like the amenities bar and the happy hour in the reception, plus the rooftop terrace made it a characterful place to stay. I would stay again for leisure so I can stay in and fully enjoy it.

Fabulous boutique hotel with wonderful staff and great attention to detail. Excellent location. Wouldn't hesitate to book again.

I'm struggling to find something that could have been better. My room was on the lowest level and so it didn't have a window. I would probably try and get one on a higher level on my next visit but I was only there for one night so it wasn't a big deal at all.

Location is great for fantastic cafes and restaurants in Surry Hills. Free pastries in the morning was a lovely touch. Rooftop is a gear spot to relax. Staff were very friendly. Rain water style shower head.

Bathroom is tight, especially the toilet there is little space between end of the toilet to the glass wall. Sink looks good but not functional as the tap is as wide as the sink itself so water splashes everywhere when you turn it on.

Check in was easy. Staff support to check in and explain the property very good. The location is excellent - 8 minute walk to Central Station and lots of cafes, bars, restaurants within 5-10 minute walk. Room was very comfortable, great aircon and QUIET!! Complimentary coffee and breakfast bar very convenient.

The smart TV did not function properly - unable to stream shows and stuck with ordinary free to air TV. Staff tried to fix without success.

Loved the location, loved the staff, the honour bar. We stayed for Alliance stadium but light rail was there for cbd and train to airport.

Our room was very very small and minimal natural light, not a common one for us so you did have to sit in bed, again not a horrible thing but when there is no where for your bag it is tricky. Also the main entrance is in a back alley, something to note especially when you are on your own. We never felt unsafe but it is odd especially being the only entrance at nighttime.

Location. Extra close from Albion to Central and rail to Airport. History of the old building that was once a convent when religious sisters ministry to the inner city poor. The Salvation Army is still operating a few doors down. Close to interesting restaurants.

Nothing to find fault with although the reception entrance is around the back of the building access. Maybe an issue if you are a lady arriving alone late in the day. Reception is super and staff super held.
