Excellent customer service at this hotel from staff, especially the wonderful Katia, who go out of their way to make you feel welcome. Initial issue with the room was resolved immediately. The new room was quiet, cool and spacious. Beds were pretty good, Smart TV worked well. Free continental breakfast provisions available in the foyer each morning. Tea and coffee facilities are excellent. Sydney is not the cheapest city to visit but 28 Hotel is really good value. It's also within walking distance to Haymarket, including the interesting Paddy's Market, Chinatown and the main George Street. You will have a good stay here.
There is only one lift and it is very old, clunky and very slow. It does not inspire confidence. Yikes.

It's very convenient, around 10 minutes' walk to train station and light rail station. Also, around 10 minutes' walk to Haymarket and China town so food is not a problem. There is a free light snack served for breakfast and a good coffee machine where you can enjoy coffee and tea 24 hours for free. The staff are all friendly, if there are room amenities that you need example shower cap and bedroom slipper, which is not in the room, you can request it at the front office. It is complimentary.
Need clearer instructions on how to use the coffee machine. I see a lot of guests are quite confused.

Very cozy, includes a microwave and fridge, bed is nice, shower is great, really nice helpful staff, and love the access to coffee, tea, and pastries in the lobby.
Bathroom has no air flow, should also update the aircon system, and add lock to the bathroom door. The shower fills up quick too. And there was a cockroach in the bathroom. I also don’t like the idea of the towel rack above the toilet. And the TV being beside the bed in front of the bed. Also having to move the microwave to a power point to use it.

The 24/7 coffee bar and the grab-and-go breakfast were lovely perks. The staff members were helpful and I really appreciated that they held my luggage for a few hours both before check-in and after check-out so I could go out for meals unencumbered. The hotel is on a side-street near Central station so it was an easy daily walk to Darling Harbour, China Town and surrounds, and I didn't hear any traffic during the night so it was a great location and quiet.
There's only 1 elevator so try to avoid needing to use it during check-out times during your stay. It wasn't a problem at any other time.

The location of the property to a lot of restaurants, but also to Central Station was very convenient. Room was lovely and clean very simple very basic. The bed was extremely comfortable. The bathroom Had a very large shower but just be careful as the showerhead is in the centre of the shower so it can spill out into the bathroom all over the floor.
The property itself was fine. It did tend to get a little bit noisy but that I think it’s because we stayed on Friday night and it was quite a busy night in the city so there was a lot of people coming back at 2 and 3 am. You hear a little bit of traffic depending on what side of the hotel you are on, but overall not the worst.

Convenient location: Close to central station so convenient to take public transport to visit places in Sydney. Easy to find restaurants at reasonable price. Coffee machine is good for making coffee, tea and hot chocolate. I enjoyed apple and nut bars as complementary snacks during my stay.
There was some background noise in the room. It sounds like a fan of air conditioning. The television was placed on the desk next to the window. So we couldn’t get the natural light into the room.

The bed was very comfortable and the location perfect for me. I had an early train from Central Station the following morning and it was an easy 10 minute walk max. The room was very spacious but not much room to hang clothes. There was a kettle and cups in the room, but no coffee. However it turns out you can help yourself to coffee from the pod machine any time you want. The booking said 'no breakfast option' but the coffee machine is there and they put out various pastries, biscuits and cereal bars, so I would call that a breakfast. Good security features. Don't let the surroundings put you off, I felt very safe.
The doors in the rooms are very heavy because they are fire doors and do not stay open so you need to take care when closing them as they are very loud.

I have stayed here before because of it's great location close to the central station. Rooms are basic but comfortable and clean and have everything you need and the coffee machine and breakfast pastries are handy if needed. Staff member on checkout was very helpful and friendly and the airport shuttle bus driver was very efficient and friendly at a great price.
Showers could do with the grouting and sealant either deep cleaning or replacing. Some staff members not as friendly as others which is important if you have been travelling long distances and are tired

The location is very close to the train station (about a 10 minute walk), which makes it very ideal, it's also in a quiet area of Sydney. The room was quite spacious and had a desk, chair and double bed, the bed was rather uncomfortable, but for the price and location I really can't complain. The bedding and pillows were clean and stain free, and the towels were soft and fluffy. There was plenty of toilet paper in the bathroom for the stay, and the towels were replaced daily. There were plenty of lights, including 3 lamps and 1 overhead light. The staff were friendly and helpful, letting me know when breakfast was, etc. They provided free fresh fruit 24/7 in the lobby for guests, which was a pleasant experience. When walking to the front desk, I never had to ding the bell to get their attention, they would just appear as I stood in front.
The only thing I didn't like was that the bed felt very hard and you could feel the springs. It did remind me of staying at a grandparents place and using their spare bed, so that was a little nostalgic. The remote took a bit to respond when pressed, but that could be because the batteries were old.
