I've been a loyal customer of this backpacker facility every time I visit the city. One of the things that keep me coming back is their commitment to improvement, which is evident despite their old establishment. The strategic location is also a major plus, being situated right in front of the tram and at the center of the city. This makes it very convenient to explore the city and its surroundings. Furthermore, the staff are not only friendly but also handsome, which adds to the welcoming atmosphere. Given these advantages, I always recommend this facility to fellow travelers and friends. Another significant benefit is its affordability, making it an excellent value for money.

It’s an old building but you can’t change it anymore. Pretty much this back packer was great.

Well situated, 2 steps from Central station. Good wi-fi in rooms and common parts. Each bed has a dedicated closet (you have to bring your own locker) and a small very practical bed lamp. There is a nice and usually quiet common space separated from the kitchen. Overall clean in rooms and common parts (even if as usual, in the kitchen, some people are just spoiled and don't clean after themselves :/). HUGE common refrigerators in the kitchens provide enough space to everyone (which is not the case in some other hostels). Enough showers and WC. Hot water in showers. Enough washing machines. Friendly staff. The clients are a mixture of long-term stays and a bit older backpackers. You won't find the pub crawls and all-night partys here, but you will get a calm and confortable home. I particularly appreciated the fact that there were separate trash bins (recyclable - non recyclable) in the kitchen.

Power sockets in the common room were not working. The breakfast was very simple (some muesli, corn flakes, toasts, jam, peanut butter, vegemite, milk, juice). I would have appreciated to see some milk products (a big common jar of yoghourt ? cheese?) and some fruits (a bag of apples?). It would be more practical if the rooms had more power sockets : we only have one per bed and it is inside the closet. We should be able to open the windows a bit more. The air conditioner was waaaay too cold (19°C !). Don't expect too much from the Friday free pizzas : pizzas are from Dominos and are not very good (even if it is for free).

Loved my stay here. First time visiting Australia. Got off the aeroplane and made our way to 790 on George. Very pleased. Good value for money. My friend and I stayed in a private room. I think it was roughly 6 rooms to a toilet area. On my floor there was a urinal, toilet and two showers. Usually I could get one or on the rare occassion I had to wait a few minutes or go downstairs. There was a social lounge but on the few times we went in, it was frequently by people on their phones who did not even look up to nod. There was the kitchen which we found as well as eating, people were more open to chatting. Striked up some good conversations about travelling whilst having a coffee and breakfast. Staff were friendly. It was in such a good location. A stone's throw away from the tram, shops and the market close by and not very far from parks and green space. Loved this.

The breakfast. Please invest in an extra table to put breakfast on. When it gets busy at breakfast, a few people do not understand the concept of speed and spend 10 minutes buttering their toast. An extra table or two would allow a bit more real estate to spread out so the spreaders can spread and then others can get their breakfast cereals and there is still room to move around. The windows. It would be great if you could give the windows a clean. There were days that were bright but we woke up thinking it was overcast. Also, it would be great if you could invest in openable windows. There were days when we would have loved to let some fresh air into the room.

Very central and quiet hostel. They offer breakfast every morning. It’s continental and quiet sweet but more than enough. Very friendly stuff! I came really early in the morning and the girl at reception checked me in straight away. Thanks for that!!! Would definitely come again.

The kitchen equipment is not good. Not enough pots, pans, plates, bowls and glasses or cutlery. The hostel could work on that! Not the hostel's fault, but some guests use the kitchen as a bathroom even though the toilet is just round the corner. They wash their faces and rinse their mouths where others wash their dishes, disgusting!

They have breakfast and pizza friday night. Common room was very cosy and nice place to hang out. Hot shower available. Kitchen to cook and store your food / ingredients in. Bed was decently sized and comfortable, blanket prepared too. It's literally within 2min walking distance from the train station that is a direct line from the Sydney Airport (10~15min travel).

Laundry and dryer were available but cost 4 AUD per usage for each machine, only found out upon arrival. Detergent is not free either, bring your own or purchase from the reception.

It has all you need. The building has 7 floors, and backpackers fluctuate a lot, so the facility is well adjusted to the number of people coming and going. Big kitchen, where everyone fits, with simple but plentiful breakfast each morning, you can leave there a luggage if you have a free morning before checking or afternoon before flight. Location. It's next to the train station, or metro (T), which is a few stops from the airport. A tram stop (L) is in front of the building, which can take you all the way to the harbour, Opera house. There is a bus stop that takes you to Bondi or Maroubra Beach.

I changed a room. There were quirks in the rooms that were unpleasant, but it happens in hotels, so it is o.k. A.C. unfortunately didn't work in one, in the second one, the bed light flicked and didn't work, wrongly installed locker, so the lock didn't fit in, but who locks it anyway.

The location, you can’t get much better. We’re travelling Australia and using the greyhound buses. This property was less than a 5 minute walk to the bus terminal and also Central train station. It had a tram stop right outside the property to reach other areas of Sydney at ease. The staff were very friendly and the hostel felt safe. It was clean. Yes, granted it is a little dated but for the price, location and cleanliness wise, we got a great deal. The room also appeared slightly better than the photos online. We were in a private double room.

There was a faint smell but honestly wouldn’t put us off staying again for the price and location. You spend most of your time out and about exploring anyways. One thing to be aware of but didn’t bother us, it isn’t the most socialable hostel. They do have a pizza night once a week which is a great touch to try and encourage meeting fellow travellers.

・Breakfast (bread, cereal, etc.) is included ・Free tea and coffee available all day. ・pizza every Friday night ・The staff are kind and friendly ・the place is cleaned regularly. I enjoyed my stay twice and would definitely stay here if I visit Sydney again.

・It would be helpful if there were some bowls for eating noodles. ・Storing food can be a bit inconvenient since there’s no freezer (there is a fridge though). ・I sometimes saw cockroaches in the kitchen and bathroom.

The location, first off, is EXCELLENT. Next to the light rail, a short walk away from Central train station, and you don't have to walk far for food, drink or anything really. Also there's a free pizza night on Fridays, and you can't go wrong with that. Also a fairly sociable place too if you're a solo traveler, with plenty of opportunities to meet people and go out with them (not to mention they DO offer some discounts for places around Sydney). Also, unlike other hostels, there's actually an elevator here for most floors, so it's VERY good if you have accessibility needs!

While you may not expect comfortable beds in any hostel, this one had less comfortable beds than other hostels I've stayed in. Also do remember to pull the curtains shut, being centrally located comes with the bad side of being reallyyyyy bright at night.

The location is perfect. Elevator is very important and helpful for a tourist who carries luggages. Room #307 is clean and comfortable and makes me relax after a whole day sightseeing in Sydney.

The sink area and floors in lady’s bathroom is almost wet all the time. The faucet is too closed to the sink so the water spilled when I wash my hands.
