Great location sitting between China Town and Darling Harbour. The hotel bar located in the restored build next door offered a great variety of tap beers and good food.

Very comfortable, great location, lots of places to eat nearby, clean and lovely vibe.

All the staff we encountered during our stay were very helpful and friendly. Our room was very well appointed and very comfortable.

The car parking is off campus, but a short walk to the recommended facility and we were able to pay via the Novotel. We were disappointed in the dining arrangements, which is not operated by Novotel, but has access from the first floor of the facility. On our first attempt to dine there we were told they did not have any available tables as the top floor had been booked for a private function. On the next night, our second attempt to dine there, it was very noisy with loud music playing throughout the restaurant and the staff were less than helpful in locating a table for us. Generally, this was a very bad experience albeit not directly caused by the Novotel, but they did not have an in-house dining facility other than for breakfast.

The location is perfect for tourists or visiting family from interstate. Like us, you can drive from home to Sydney, park at First Parking Darling Square and get to anywhere easily via the light rail, city rail etc. The shower had great water pressure and the temperature was well regulated.

I would like to give my thanks to Zoe, a staff member of Novotel. My daughter gave birth to her son on Christmas Day and called me from RPA Hospital at 8:30 pm. She wanted a newspaper from that day as a keepsake. I had no idea where I could find one so late. I quickly went downstairs to ask the young receptionist at the front desk if the hotel had any. The answer was, "Sorry, we don’t." I stood there disappointed in the lobby. A few minutes later, the young receptionist came to find me with her phone and asked, "Would you like to try Coles at World Square? They sell newspapers and are open late." With her help, I was able to buy the last two copies of the Sunday Hearld.

The location is fantastic, so close to lots of great restaurants and cafes around Chinatown, Darling Square and Darling Quarter, 10min walk to George St to get the tram and only 10mins walk from Town Hall or Central train station. Comfortable room, quiet too. Great buffet breakfast. Book in advance and better price.

We weren’t told much about the hotel when we arrived such as the pool or breakfast. The QR code on the card we were given didnt work which is where other info was located but couldn’t access it and hard to find the info on the website.

Location is fantastic to where we wanted to be, which was the Capitol theatre to see a show. Felt very safe walking around at night as it’s very close to Darling Harbour and Chinatown so many people around till late. Short walk to tram if you want to go to Central or The Star. Staff were very welcoming checking in and out. Room was very clean and roomy and quiet, obviously they have sound proof windows. Have stayed here numerous times, it’s our go to hotel when we are in Sydney

Not the hotel’s fault but a drug induced scary man out the front in the driveway both mornings pestering people (myself included). Also the aircon was alittle noisy while trying to get to sleep

Great location, friendly, helpful staff, rooms clean and tidy. Host in the restaurant at breakfast and staff were lovely. The kids were given a goodie bag on arrival, this was appreciated. The lucky envelopes for Lunar NY were also a lovely gesture.

Breakfast was pretty standard. Felt some items were not replenished. My kids liked the mini choc muffins but once gone, that seemed to be it. Also no fruits like bananas, apples, strawberries which are more kid friendly. Disappointed no full size bath. Rooms and bathroom very squishy. Also no vanity/toiletries kits, just a shower cap. Everyone needs a button, baindaid or cotton bud at some point!

Stayed two nights with the Novotel with my daughter. Had a room overlooking the chinese garden. It was a wonderful experience. room was clean and nice decor. The bed and pillows were comfortable and all our interactions with staff were positive. I really like the design of the hotel and the location was handy for getting anywhere in the city, either by foot or ferry or light rail. We used the parking and that was a simple exercise, even in the rain. The hotel had us drop our bags first and then gave us a map for how to drive to the carpark and then it was a quick walk back to hotel. I couldn't have had a better experience than the one at Novotel Darling Square.

I think they should make their sustainable practices more known and make it clear if there is omething not in the room you need, like water, that you can ask for it.

The room was modern and spacious, super comfotable. The bathroom was beautiful and spacious. The aircon worked fantastically, the smart TV was very convienent to link to netfilx and worked really well as did the wifi. The staff were warm and welcoming. The breakfast buffet was also really good and fresh.

There were dirty towels left in the bathroom when I checked in, as well as lots of sequins throughout the carpet that I kept noticing. I called reception about the dirty towels but no one came to collect them. The pool was closed and the only alternative was a public one ~10 minute walk away that had much more restrictive hours, was really dissapointed as it was a key reason I picked this particular hotel over others - wish they had let me know prior to checking in, I only found out as there was a stack of papers on the reception desk when checking in saying it was closed. The panel that controls the aricon was insanely bright and kept me up, I had to cover it with clothing to sleep.

Lovely location on a closed street facing greenery and local eats on darling square. It was lovely not to step onto dirty city streets and feel a sense of calm each day. In excellent proximity to tumbalung park and an easy walk to darling harbour, paddy's market etc. If you want to be a stones throw away, without being on the board walk - you will love this place. Breakfast was lovely and convenient - with all the standard inclusions, maintained to a high standard. The beds and pillows were comfortable. Room clean and in great repair. Wifi included, with connectivity to chrome cast on TVs - great internet speeds. Kids club in the holidays was a great space for little ones to let of a little steam playing PlayStation/ Xbox after a busy day exploring the city. It was beautiful to see an arrangement of snacks and drinks for children in kinds club - all free!

Swimming pool leaves a lot to be desired. They had some maintenance whilst we were there. I booked this hotel with the pool in mind to help keep kids entertained, but it was in quite a dull room, with very uncomfortable seating. Kids were scared of the drains. It's clear this might be part of an older part of building and they've had historical maintenance issues here. If you just want a little dip to cool down- I'm sure you will find the pool adequate. Lovely that pool towels were available - with carry on luggage- it was not possible to bring our own. Pumphouse next door looked like a great place for an afternoon beverage. Unfortunately was busy each night without us booking ahead so I wasn't able to spend time here.
