Location was exceptional once we found it. The outdoor signage is not real clear. Easy access to the bus. The rooms were nice, seemed to be updated.

Pulled a 10-in snag of hair and slime out of the bathroom sink drain.

Very pleasant stay. Spotless, very spacious room with big comfy bed, cooking facilities. Very friendly welcoming and helpful staff. Exceptional location, 5 minute walk to Town Hall train station and trams.

The place is a little dated but it’s nice enough! Two small things - the first was the doors to enter/exit the room just slam shut! Wasn’t just our room, you could tell when someone else left their room because the door would just go BANG! The hotel could definitely look into getting some new hinges or something for the doors. It’s just so aggressive & unnecessary. Secondly the rubber on the shower door when you slide it close, was making an awful screeching sound. Sounded like a bird getting killed - not pleasant at all. Aside from the door concerns, I would stay again.

I liked the convenience of location. Close to public transport and shops. Staff were great and always had a smile for you. My elderly mother stayed 2 nights with me and she was treated with kindness and respect.

Choice of coffee and tea in rooms was average. Not to my tastes. But that's not really hotels problem.

Room was neat and clean - although room small, was enough room for the double bed and closet to hang clothes and place items at the bottom of the closet. The air con could be controlled from the room which is very useful. Bathroom provided a good shower and was clean and tidy. Very good location - close to wide range of shopping, restaurants and transport - trains, light rail and buses virtually outside the entrance to the hotel.

A chair could have provided to sit down - could only sit on the bed - maybe not enough room for a small chair.

The staff was polite and helpful; the room was well designed and clean; the location was amazing; there is a back lobby with complimentary tea, coffee, biscuits, a water fountain, microwave and cutlery available to all guests with pretty wide opening hours when usually lobbies are in the entrance and not welcoming but theirs is great; there is laundry service available that's pretty quick (drop the morning to pick up in the afternoon). I also really appreciated the focus to sustainability with a wide array of amenities available but only on-demand, built-in soap/shampoo/conditioner dispensers to reduce waste and obviously a system for towel and room cleaning where the room would be tidied up and the bed would be made every day but i.e towels and sheets were not replaced.

There were renovations taking place right under our bedroom window the whole 6 nights we were there, which made it difficult to fall asleep and deteriorated the quality of our sleep. While the hotel is not responsible for it, the soundproofing was insufficient and noise was hardly blocked.

The location could not be more central and close to all transport. Staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were quiet. Although small, the rooms contained nearly everything needed and we considered them good value for money in such a convenient location. A separate lobby lounge provided facilties like microwave, toaster, coffee maker, freezer, and filtered water that could not be accommodated in the small rooms.

Our only complaint was that there was a bedside table on only one side of the bed. This was a result of the restricted space, but perhaps a simple table that could be moved into a corner during the day could have been provided. The bed was a little soft for our liking, although many people would probably have found it comfortable enough.

Location - fantastic location directly across from the QVB. Close to the light rail and train stations, and bus stops making it very easy to get around the city and to/from the airport. Plenty of bars and restaurants near by. Great shopping on your doorstep. Quiet - did not hear any city noise from inside the room despite being in the heart of the CBD. Clean - common areas and the room were kept clean and tidy. Daily housekeeping for the room. Friendly - all the staff members that I interacted with were welcoming and helpful.

The beds are a little firmer than usual. Next time I’d upgrade to a larger room for more comfort.

I had a very pleasant stay at YEHS QVB during my recent work trip. The staff were incredibly accommodating and ensured everything ran smoothly throughout my visit. The location was perfect - close to everything I needed for work, which made things even easier. The hotel lobby was also a great space to wait before checking in, complete with tea, coffee, and biscuits. A special shoutout to the manager, Christine, who went above and beyond with her service and kindly offered me a late check-out - much appreciated! I’ll definitely be looking to stay here again the next time I’m in town for work. Highly recommend!
