Tinaroo Sunset retreat is a wonderful place to stay. It is set in a quiet rural location, but is only 10 minutes drive from Yungaburra.We stayed in the 2 bedroom cottage. Check in was easy, the house is set up with everything you need for your stay: beds and couches are comfortable, kitchen is well equipped. Modern TV, internet works well and the fire and outdoor spa on the deck overlooking the forest is wonderful. It was lovely to meet Lachlan when he delivered a fresh fruit platter/bread for breakfast.

Definitely a relaxing retreat, immersed in nature away from the bustle. Fireplace was loaded with wood ready to get toasty. Freshly made bread and fruit platter awaited us. There was a spa bath on the back deck (didn’t use, but would have been superb, as you look out onto the tops of trees). Service was excellent - Lachlan was very nice to deal with.

Only downside was we were two couples and one bedroom had a queen bed, and the 2nd bedroom had two singles (and advertised as a double bed in both rooms).

Tranquil spot, stunning route to property. Some really thoughtful touches, such as regular delivery of fresh baked bread, fresh juice and milk and provision of books, games, info. Beds were super comfortable.

Settees could have been more comfortable. Getting to and from the main road takes a little time, but it is the price of seclusion.

Separate Cottage accommodation, lots of bush around and a very quiet location. Cottage had all the essentials and more that a traveller requires. Wonderful host, friendly and only too happy to help in need.

Being up on the Tablelands temperatures are cooler; remedied by heat pump(s) and a wood burner.

Our stay was comfortable and relaxing, providing the perfect getaway from our busy schedules. The peaceful, calm, and quiet atmosphere made it an ideal retreat. The freshly baked bread and the best continental breakfast were delightful highlights of our mornings. A special thanks to Lachlan, our host, for his exceptional hospitality. Highly recommend for anyone seeking a serene escape.

The rainforest is stunning from the balcony. Great spa although a little cold this time to use it. Comfortable bed. Warm fire. Beautiful, relaxing and lovely spot.

Could have done with a little more firewood, however, that was only a minor issue. We ran out early in the evening so popped on the air conditioning in heat mode.

Great breakfast consisting of fresh fruits, bread, juice, milk, yogurt and cereal. Butter, jam and vegemite for toast. In the countryside. We spent 5 nights here. Loved waking up to all of the birds chirping and great views of the stars at night. Easy drives to Lake Eacham and Barrine in Crater Lakes National Park, Barron Falls, Yungaburra, Curtain Fig Tree National Park and much more.

Serenity as advertised

Car park for top cottage wasn’t as close to our unit as the other which isn’t usually an issue but we arrived in at night. It’s not a complaint just something to keep in mind if you need to be closer to the door of your cottage.

The apartment was spacious and really well equipped. We loved the outdoor heated spa. The bed was super comfy too. The breakfast hamper was more than adequate and a nice touch with the home baked loaf of bread.

Nothing. This place was really well equipped and thought about.

Property presentation was good, and the breakfast goodies supplied were a great surprise and very welcome with fruit platter and home made yoghurt appreciated!!

Would have liked to stay longer to enjoy the spa more!
