Cairns Gateway Resort is in good location just outside of Cairns, Close to shops however gives you the quiet resort lifestyle. Staff are very friendly and accommodating. This is now for second time staying here and this is my hotel of choice. Swimming pool is amazing, and rooms are clean and tidy. Parking is close by to your room and the little convenience store at reception has all the necessity you need. Roughly 30 minutes from the airport and a short drive to esplanade. Highly recommend this resort for families, couples or traveling friends. I had to travel to Cairns to say goodbye to my grandfather. Cairns Gateway Resort were very understanding and accommodating as I also needed an extra room for my mum, and they were able to assist last minute and CGR really came through for my family. We really apricate it. Now we will be staying here again for my grandfather funeral.

Have nothing bad to add, this place is amazing and highly recommended it. No bad review to give.

I was very happy with my stay here. I arrived in the evening and was greeted to a lit room with the aircon on, and a big jug of cold water in the fridge. Simple things like that matter. The room had block out curtains, and was soundproof, with a balcony overlooking the garden. Vicki at reception is awesome, I ended up extending my stay and was given cheaper rates the longer I stayed. She could have billed me the rate I paid when I booked and I'd be none the wiser.

For me, there was nothing negative. Great budget accommodation giving you the most for the price. Won't find better, trust me, I lived in Cairns

The resort is a clean and enjoyable place to live in. The room is comfortable in many ways including having a king size bed and an extra single one which our daughter used for a few nights before she went to her accommodation in the city. The staff are friendly and helpful . The physical environment provides a captivating experience and the facilities give maximum recreational benefits.

Nothing have I seen has made me dislike the place. Maybe , a check for those who are booked for a week - that a replacement of the towels could be done.

The facilities were excellent and unbelievably clean and well taken after, the pool and barbecues are a delight, and everything is convenient and close. The room was just perfect, AC and ceiling fan made us forget all about the incredibly hot Queensland summer and sleep perfectly. There even was a smart tv in the room so we could connect to our Netflix and watch movies. 10/10 stay, would definitely come again.

The only thing I could complain about is the location, it is a little bit far from the centre. There are supermarkets and stores close nonetheless.

I’ve stayed here a couple of times before. It’s close to where I need to be in Cairns. Nearby are an IGA mini supermarket and serveral restaurants. Comfortable and clean facilities. The staff are always pleasant and welcoming. I slept well in the air conditioned room…a wonderful respite from the humid heat outside. Enjoyed a quick dip in the pool too!

Liked the location: far enough out of the CBD to be cheaper, but not so far that it was inconvenient. We used public transport (bus) while there. The bus stop was close by, the fares good, and traveling time not too long. The resort is starting to show its age, but was clean and comfortable, with good facilities. There wasn't much road noise, which was a surprise being adjacent to a major highway.

Didn't really dislike anything. There was a slight chlorine smell occasionally as the pool was in the wind path to our room, but it wasn't a problem.

Great value for money, they have cheaper weekly rate (~60$ a night). Pool area is nice. There is a small wardrobe, fridge, iron, microwave (plates, glasses, cutlery & dishwashing soap provided), TV, soap & shampoo, balcony, many towels. You can do a laundry for 4$, small laundry powder packet sold at 1$. They have plenty of free car parking.

A bit isolated so you must have a car. The balcony floor was dusty/dirty. It's really a pity the way they fixed the TV against the wall because all the inputs (e.g. HDMI) behind it were totally unreachable. So forget about plugging your laptop on the TV to watch your own movies.

Our room was nice and comfortable, bed and shower great! Excellent value and central to everything we wanted to do in Cairns and as a base to explore outer areas. The office staff were lovely, my husband lost his glasses , the lady in the office did everything she could to help us, as did the cleaning staff. Thank you.

The cleanliness, it's cleaned at a 5star standard which I loved by karen, nothing was to much effort. I stayed for few weeks, made use of pool and great facilities. Very cheap stay for excellent quality. Highly recommended. It's next to major rd, but u don't hear noise. Close to shops & bus stop. Staff are amazing only to willing to help. Very much appreciated. If your on a budget this is definitely the place to stay. You won't be disappointed.

What a lovely stay we had and all the staff at reception and the cleaner were really lovely and so helpful. The beds in the room were super comfy and also included in the room was a TV, fridge, cutlery and crockery. There was a great barbecue area within the grounds of swimming pool and the swimming pool was beautiful. Everything was immaculate. Would most definitely stay again if I visit Cairns. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay. Very highly recommended.
