Parking for each unit right in front of the unit. Lots of room inside. It has hair dryer, soaps & shampoos, tea and coffee. Bathroom is very clean(one of my major criteria) bed comfortable, and a little treat left on the bed for guests. Meals can be ordered online from the restaurant and they are lovely meals, they have little breakfast cereal packs available at the office containing a box juice, small box of cereal, box of UHT milk, and a spoon and container to eat it with, plus a small muesli bar. There are bottles of water in the fridge for free (big +). The rooms are in a secure area with a gate needing a card to get in.

There is no view but the location is very good.

All Nightcap Accomodation set a high level of presentation and service and we find that all around Australia the standard is consistently high. We always take advantage of the gifts that come with booking, like a free drink each and 10% off meals and that makes for great value. I haven’t come across a Nightcap yet that doesn’t have great meals and great service associated with accommodation. Thank you Nightcap at Balaclava Hotel.

The layout and ease of access.

Checked it at 10pm. Reception was closed but security guard was around and very helpful n professional He paged the reception and another gentleman attended promptly 2 my check in a professional manner.

Everything was perfect. Only thing was there wasn't a washer amongst the towels to use in the shower. Shampoo, conditioner, and body wash was single use only so you weren't able to have 2 showers if you wanted to. More signage to Motel reception required.

I liked where it was located - it was near everything. I liked that it provided a place to stay at a very low price.

I didn’t like that the internet didn’t work, so we couldn’t watch Netflix or other streaming services. I didn’t like that there was no microwave, but I guess it is worth what we paid for.

The room service meals are yum! Not the best suburb in cairns, but always feel safe with the security gates. The beds are the best I've slept in, so comfortable, and lots of pillows. Great location, central to what I need to do when I'm in cairns.

Probably keep all the smokers in one area, I felt abit guilty smoking outside my room with non-smokers beside me. Or maybe set up a designated smoking area.

Balaclava Hotel was a great place for a one night stay. We stayed in a Queen Studio room which was excellent. Recently completely renovated and very modern. Bathroom and shower were really excellent. All facilities were very clean. The accommodation is at the rear of the hotel, so there is no noise or disturbance from the hotel itself. Car parking is also secure with car parked immediately outside room.

Stayed 2 nights with a friend and thought the little breakfast boxes we could get for both mornings but only could get for one morning. And water bottles got one each for the stay

We had to book a night's stay last minute and I was pleasantly surprised. The rooms were very clean, we had a lovely shower and a 5-star sleep. Felt very safe here and no noise disturbances. Secure car parking space included. Fast free wifi. We checked in late at 8pm and the staff were kind helping us and even offered a little breakfast pack.

Hotel itself was a bit hard to find, easier to find the bar and ask the staff there but not a major - everything was great really

I was very impressed with the security system you have especially considering the crime rate in Cairns. All staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Will stay again without a doubt 😊

The only thing I would say that needs to be improved would be the gate security locking device for walkers. It was far too low and not easy to read. In the end we just used the security gate for cars to come through as we only had to wave the card without putting in a pin.

Parking just outside room. Fenced-in hotel area (& parking).Kettle & fridge. Restaurant with good, affordable food.

Some distance from the city. Good with vehicle, but inconvenient without vehicle.
