I wanted to stay for one night after reading the good reviews. It really is perfect for families or those on a budget- with a car. I was a solo traveller but knew it was a bit far from the main centre. The staff were very welcoming. I used the pool with a pool bar which was be beautiful. My room was spotless and smelt lovely. I had dinner there which was very nice and enjoyed my cocktail. I had a very enjoyable stay there.

Complex was dated but very well maintained.

Loved the resort, great value for money, the pools were awesome, kids loved the water slide. Staff were great. Loved the cave spa, such an awesome place. Bar was good, food was good. They also made the beds daily, changed towels and replenished tea, coffee and milk daily which was really great. Close to the airport, neighbourhood seemed nice, ample parking.

Our room had a problem in the bathroom that smelled like sewerage. They tried for 3 days to fix it, but it still really smelled bad. They never once offered to change our room, so we just had to put up with the sewerage smell for 5 nights. So we loved the resort but really hated our room, and each night we got back to the room, it was like...omg forgot how bad this really is.

The resort was amazing. The staff very friendly. The place was great for children.

The only thing might change would be having a few extra bats and balls for the ping-pong table. Maybe even another table at another pool area.

We stayed in a basic resort room. The bathroom was refurbished, so it looks better than photos. Functional room with plenty of drawers and space to put your belongings. Beds were fine. There is only a sheet, no doona. But there is a spare blanket in the wardrobe. Lots of downlights in the room. There was no microwave in the room, but there is a common room near reception with a microwave. Guest laundry works great. There are 2 of them, so you're likely to find a free machine. Plenty of unallocated parking spaces at the entrance and back of the resort. Very family friendly resort. A kids movie was played at the main pool every night. Even though there are about 500 rooms, the complex didn't feel too crowded. There's mini golf and peddle karts open Fri-Sun.

If you have a basic resort room, they are near the main pool and bar, so it can be noisy.

Beautiful tropical grounds, choice of swimming pools, laundry facilities. Room was spacious for 4 of us plus bags. Location is good - just out of town. Some tours do pickup from there - which is convenient. Plenty of parking available

Grounds are big and signage not so great so finding reception was a bit of a mission when we arrived late at night. We had booked a room with pool/garden views & they gave us a room upstairs overlooking the parking lot. They did chang it the next day when I spoke to them about it. Located just out of town - highly recommend you hire a car to get around Rooms are a little dated & one of the beds could have done with a new mattress

We were three families on a holiday in Cairns and what we were looking for was a comfortable stay , not too far from the city and with enough and more for the kids to do on the days we are in the resort. And Cairns colonial ticked all the boxes. There are enough pools to keep the kids active. Cairns esplanade is only about 10 mins away and all the tours pick you up from the resort. There is a pretty good breakfast menu and there are multiple dining options

The other reviews also mention and it is kind of expected i suppose that the food is on the expensive side.

We absolutely love it here as there’s so much to do, you don’t even need to leave the resort if you don’t want to! The pizza pasta restaurant is amazing and the pools kept our kids occupied for days. I loved that each night movies were put on the big screen for the little ones.

Our first room backed onto the industrial laundry which meant we had a lack of hot water and noise all night - when we made reception aware of this it was rectified extremely quickly and we were moved to a new room, where we thorough enjoyed the rest of our stay. All of the rooms do not have a microwave though, which is a little annoying for families who may want to stick to a budget and cook some meals in their rooms. It is also a little frustrating that the pizza place isn’t open every night (closes Sunday until Wednesday) and that the buffet room isn’t utilised for breakfasts and is saved for private functions - you would make a killing offering buffet breaky to the guests!!

Amenities at the resort are excellent. The restaurants are great, the pool is fabulous and it is extremely family friendly. Stone's throw from the heart of the city. The property itself is massive and my son had a great time and we spent one full day doing nothing but relaxing at the pool

The rooms tend to get stuffy. We didnt open the window as people were passing by all day although everyone was very civil. But the bathroom would stink if we put the exhaust on

We booked this hotel for a quick, last-night-in-the-area, near-the-airport hotel. We were really impressed at the value—it’s such a nice facility. The staff was really friendly, and the pool and its waterslide were a HUGE hit with the kids. Even though it wasn’t very warm, it was very popular. Both staff and clientele just seemed in a good mood—this place had good vibes. Oh, and on-site coin laundry was very helpful.

We had dinner at the Thirsty Flamingo onsite. People were really frustrated (eventually we were, too), because it took nearly 90 minutes after ordering to receive our food. This wasn’t communicated when ordering. Many tables wound up canceling their orders. We stuck it out, and though it wasn’t ideal, once we got our food, it was great. Staff seemed very flustered, so I think this may have been a fluke.

We loved the pools and the landscaping is so lovely, lots of birds and the bats come out of an evening which is nice to watch. The room facilities were pretty good, and it was handy having two restaurants on site.

Unfortunately the wifi was so slow we couldn’t use it. It may have been the location of our room. Also it was a shame that a lot of guests left their dirty towels, drink glasses from the bar and rubbish lying around the pool area after they had left. However, this is not the fault of the resort and staff were always around working hard. Also no shade umbrella’s by the pools.
