Older style but very clean and comfortable with good instructions for late night entry. Close proximity to the Cairns Esplanade and some lovely coffee shops for breakfast. Arrived after midnight on a late flight - this hotel is one of the closest to the airport - only $19 for taxi. Hotel cost just over $100, a real bargain, given an unexpected overnight stop thanks to Jetstar changes to an international flight.

Carrying luggage up stairs (only one flight) might be problematic for some people.

I had a fantastic stay at the Reef Palms Motel in Cairns! The room was clean, comfortable, and had everything I needed for a relaxing stay. The motel has a really nice pool that’s perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring the area. It’s also in a great location—just a short walk to plenty of shops, restaurants, and public transport, making it super easy to get around. The staff were friendly and helpful, and I felt right at home. Highly recommend it for anyone looking for a convenient and affordable place to stay in Cairns!

The staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. We had a slight dripping tap and the manager came to the room straight away and organised a plumber. Great service. We were close to a small supermarket and bottle store. There were also several small restaurants. It was perhaps 5 minute walk to the beach and coffee shops along the front.

I can’t really think of anything that was in their control to change. Perhaps to add handles to the shower area walls

It was quiet place beautiful swimming pool but it was a short stay had not much time to swim in the pool. Very comfortable room. It was difficult to get in at first. Slept in darkness without reading the instructions of what to do and how to turn the lights on. But Im glad I worked it was happy after all. 😀

All the lights turn off when the card is taken out. That lives the hole room in darkness.

The size of our accommodation/ room. The price and how wasy it was to just unpack and enjoy. The staff was super friendly. Location is close to convenience stores and essentials. Our room/ apartment was plenty big enough for 3 adults and 1 teen to have enough space and enjoy ourselves. The pool is beautiful. The air-conditioning was great and welcoming

Some of the dishes in the kitchen were unclean/ dirty. Which is why i mention it as it is listed as something the visitors need to do before checking out, clean up after themselves. Apart from that, it was a great place... The weatherwas so blah, hot and sticky but obviously Palms hasnt got anything to do with that

The room was a good size - with a double and two single beds, and being an older property, it had quite a big kitchen area, including a good-size fridge. The balcony faced a nice park area, and was quite (we couldn't hear street noise). There was a nice pool and BBQ area that we didn't use - but it was attractive. The shuttle service to the airport at 8:00 am was very convenient.

There were a few minor maintenance issues (such as lights not working) that we discussed with the manager, and they were addressed - nothing too major. It's not located right in the centre of Cairns, so it's a bit of a walk (around 2.7 km each way) - but it's quite close to the waterfront esplanade, so the walk was scenic.

Overall a great little motel. Location amazing. Steps from the seaside and bus stops. Bus or walk to Tabuk swimming pool and huge Botanic Gardens. Soap, shampoo, conditioner and body lotion in bathroom. Drying board, iron and board along with brush and pan provided. Plenty of drawers and wardrobe space. More than sufficient cooling fans and ac.. Nice size balcony.

No pots or pans, I would have been happy to even hire these for my stay. Could use some plastic items ie spatula, measuring jug, microwave tubs. No printoff in rooms to advise were bus stops, swimming pool, shops and beech are all located. Could also do with directions to laundry and bins. Arrangement of furniture. Seats, dining table and TV on same wall.

Nice and quiet, nice bathroom. Staff lovely.

The old recycled sponge in the kitchen was a bit shocking. Had obviously been used by many before us, a bit gross. If only they hadn't done that, the review would have been perfect. Trying to save 50 cents isn't worth the bad vibe it causes.

Shower broke and dripped all night. Arrived late and too tired to go looking for restaurant so no dinner. Left 6am so no breakfast either. Was scary being told to lock doors safely because of intruders. Would have liked a biscuit with my coffee..

No courtesy water provided. Many of the conditions/demands printed on the door came with threats of fines! Gave the impression I needed to clean my room and remove rubbish or else! Woman on reception was co ld and not personable. Would probably reconsider staying again.
