Easy to get to from airport and after hours checkin. As others have mentioned the whole place is very tired and in need of a refresh. That's not to say it was dirty, just the type of motel you stay in overnight for a bed and some great aircon. Beds were comfy, water pressure was great, room was clean (but worn) with fresh linen available. Pool didn't look half bad for a dip.

Very very dated and worn. Interior finishings and things like joins and seals were cracked or blackened. In saying that, fans worked well and aircon was lovely on a humid night. Didn't put us off the stay at all for our overnight stopover after a flight!

Friendly & helpful staff. Beach towels were provided. 2 mirrors in living space + big wide mirror across wall of bathroom. Heaps of lighting

Staff entered room without permission. We had a room with a bath but no plug. Towel rails kept falling off wall and another rail had a big crack in it. Toiletries, tea/coffee etc were supposed to be replenished daily but weren't at all. Bath was poorly designed & definitely a danger for infirm, elderly or overweight people. 1 very thin blanket /person with no spare. 1 average pillow /person with no spare. Chipped & scraped kitchen table made it seem a bit tacky

New management. Zac was super friendly and accommodating. He straight away offered to swap us from an upstairs room to a downstairs room then told us if we didn’t like the room for any reason he was happy to move us to a different one. Parking was secure & plenty of space (we have a Prado with a rooftop tent that needed opening to dry out).

Rooms definitely need some maintenance and renovating, which Zac acknowledged and they are planning on doing in the near future.

Comfortable room with all amenities in a quiet location, the room was well maintained and serviced during my stay. Front office service was excellent, which made my stay enjoyable during a challenging time whilst my partner was in Cairns Base Hospital. It was a convenient location within walking distance to the hospital and I had peace of mind leaving my vehicle and knowing it was safe in the car park especially as the gate was closed at nighttime.

The Manager Kisa was so helpful with the changes to our booking. She made sure we were happy with our room and went out of her way to accommodate us. Great value, great spot, quiet and comfortable, I highly recommend Tropical Queensland for a place to stay

My family and I stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment that was located right near the pool. Excellent location, not too far from the shopping centre and the Esplanade. There's enough parking space as well.

somes staff come everyday to clean the room, that a good point. You are at less than 500meters to the ocean. And with luck we had the swimming pool as view so good one again.

Maybe the distance with the center but that good with somes bus

Clean, tidy, excellent shower (powerful) which i like & great utensils (fridge, kettle, microwave etc)

I was happy walking into town as i enjoy walking but other guests may find this a problem

Easy access, friendly staff, clean and comfortable rooms, quiet, and good value for money. Almost rebooked to find a different place because of the reviews but I can't find anything to complain about. Will stay here again whenever I visit Cairns.

The beds were really comfortable. The room was adequate for a family, plenty of room for everyone. Kitchen facilities were good. Staff were friendly. Good location - walk across the road to the water and the park. Close to the airport.

The shower needs to have the plumbing looked at as the drain is blocked.
