The facilities/room were clean and tidy and had everything we expected. The location was excellent, within walking distance to the village and platypus viewing nature walks. It was quiet and away from the traffic.

These gripes are only trivial - the room had a smell of fake chocolate which I didn't find pleasing (it wasn't a bad smell, this is only my preference). I loved the big fluffy towels, however the towel rails in the bathroom are not mounted high enough to adequately hang the towels without them hanging on the floor.

Quiet, pleasant surroundings, adults only, no pets and a small number of rooms. Problem with toilet was fixed promptly by the cheerful manager (?). The towels were large and thick. Good to have a microwave but didn't see it on their website so wasn't prepared with any crockery/cutlery.

The woman at reception was a bit grumpy, not very welcoming. The soap for the shower didn't lather, certainly didn't want to use it as shampoo, used handwash instead.

Absolutely beautiful property. The rooms were spacious & very clean. The bath towels were big & soft which made it feel extra luxurious. I had a cabin facing into the property which felt very open. The front patio/outdoor seating was clean & great for keeping my bicycle, felt very secure. Great that car parking was not directly in front of rooms which meant it didn’t feel like you were staring at a car park. Would stay again

Location is quiet, being off the main road. Beautiful gardens and walking distance to everything in town. The place is immaculately clean. The towels are very good quality. Bed is very comfortable.

The room has big sliding glass doors but no windows. The small fridge is in the bathroom next to the bin and a metre from the toilet. It could be moved to fit in the room.

This motel is conveniently located to reach all the main attractions in the Atherton Tableland. The room was nicely decorated, quiet and clean. It was also equipped with a microwave and a small fridge, so we could warm up some dinner and breakfast.

The motel allows guests to self-cater, but the room setup is not ideal to that end. We'd have appreciated having a kitchen sink, as well as some additional crockery and cutlery available (instead of having to ask for them at the reception during opening hours). The fridge is located in the bathroom and there's limited space around the microwave, which we found also not ideal.

Cindy our host was very helpful in pointing out local areas that catered to our particular requirements, also providing maps to assist in locating these place of interest to us. The room was very quiet, at night wonderfully dark, two of the best nights sleeps we had during our time in FNQ

It was beautifully clean and comfortable. The position was quiet with no street noise. Town Center was at the end of the street- walked to the local hotel and shops, with ease. A week stay was no problem. The gardens were lush with bird life visiting. The owners were friendly and accommodating of our requests.

I loved the decor, wrought iron towel racks etc, very homely, and authentic and gardens were just lovely, car parck close to unit, I would choose to stay there again when I come.

The step into the shower was very hard to step over. And there was no biscuits put in for cuppa on the second clean. But they were only small things.

Although it's walking distance into the little town its so quiet..we have stayed at the kookaburra a couple of times highly recommend if you love birds beautiful gardens and tranquil setting.. staff are so helpful... looking forward to our next stay..

A beautiful motel set in gorgeous gardens. We had an outdoor setting which allowed us to have a cup of tea in the beautiful setting. The room facilities were thoughtful and there were unexpected extras - thick fluffy towels, makeup remover, shampoo and conditioner, lovely big cups.
