I was treated like one of the family here. Very friendly and was able to book at 9pm and easily check in after I finished my shift with my company. They are in the process of refurbing but rooms are what youd expect at $140. You still get tea coffee and biscuits. How many places give you biscuits these days? How ever the rooms are clean and comfortable. Nothing noteworthy happened after dark and is generally quiet like every other place in town. Id stay again as its the best place to check in easily without hassle of being interrogated like all the other place. When Im tired, all i want to do is hit the hay.

What you need to consider is that all motels in maryborough offer the same level. Its all old and built in the 60s or 70s - same and Bundaberg and Gympie and Rocky. I found this place exactly the same. It was clean, quiet and safe. Had no issues with the live on site staff. Infact they gave me directions to the pub and were more than accommodating. Its possible some may find this hospitality confronting but in all honesty alot of the other negative reviews on here are all rubbish where one minor issue like an insect made them say "OH the location is bad, OH the staff is bad, Oh its dirty" ITs clear these are not all true and basically whingers who have no idea about QLD accomm. All in all, Id recommend the place and would stay again. Theyre even adding some refurbs as we speak which is more than anyone else in town

I was pleasantly surprised

I can't speak highly enough about my recent stay at Arkana Motel Maryborough. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with genuine warmth and professionalism by the staff, who went above and beyond to make sure I felt welcome and comfortable throughout my stay. The first thing I noticed was how spotlessly clean everything was – from the reception area to the rooms themselves. The attention to detail in the housekeeping was second to none. My room was pristine, with fresh linen, sparkling bathroom surfaces, and not a speck of dust in sight. It’s clear that cleanliness is a top priority here, and it made for a truly relaxing and enjoyable experience. The staff were an absolute standout – friendly, helpful, and always ready with a smile or a recommendation for local attractions and dining. They created a welcoming environment that really sets this motel apart. If you're looking for a place that values cleanliness, comfort, and exceptional service, Arkana Motel is the perfect choice. I’ll definitely be staying here again the next time I’m in Maryborough! The other thing is, most motels in the area treat you like you're a criminal before you step in the door wanting to know why you're there or why youre in their town - this place does not. They have a you beaut automated check in system where you don't need to be questioned like you've don't something wrong.

Had no issues with the 3 nights I slept.

Had a quick stop over for work. Place was clean, shower worked well , and bubbly polite housekeeper walking around if you needed anything. Contrary to the narrative , its all overnight guests unlike other places and refurbs are currently being done to improve it. But its decent enough now. Places in maryborough are cheap as it is. Night time couldnt hear a mouse except for the odd dog in neighboring places. Best location as well as its easy to walk to everything and coffee shop directly across the road

I didnt have any issues with my stay

From booking to check-in the process was smooth. Check-in using digital pins is convenient and quick with no fuss and allows for arrival after hours without having to race the clock. Room was is clean condition. Bed was decent. I found it just an all round good country motel.

The rain as it was quite wet when we were there but no leaks or anything so it's good to know the place is solidly built.

The previous time it was different. On this occasion everything has much improved - I got a renovated room, aircon cold, bathroom looked and smelt immaculate. Also the clientele have improved vastly. Has the potential to be one of the better place in Maryborough once the upgrades are complete.

Bed was a tiny bit hard but used getting variety of beds when travelling.

Easy and efficient check in with very helpful onsite caretaker. Night was quiet and had no problem sleeping. Look at some of the previous comments, I can say completely unfounded. Would not hesitate to stay again and having stayed at all other motels in maryborough I can categorically say, the rooms are the same standard yet here is much cheaper.

I suggest this is the place to stay if you have a large vehicle. Carpark is huge and we could even fit our trailer. I'm surprised, whilst an older style motel, like all in this area, it's exceptionally well looked after and spotless. Any accommodation under $200 these days is ridiculously cheap and this place fits the bill. Rooms range from $130-170 AUD and in my opinion that's a winner any day of the week. Even the people in the neighbouring rooms were so nice.

Weather was a little average.

Slept very well during the time we stayed. Had no issue with arriving late and seamless check in process. Staff extraordinarily friendly and helpful and a nice coffee place directly across the road. The room, had all we needed and spotlessly clean with free tea and coffee a bonus. Suited our needs for a quick and quiet stay.
