Beach and view fabulous

For a Delux cabin,no 20, below average and disappointing for the price paid, needs complete fit out as 1970s cupboards and fittings. Floors were dirty on arrival, fan dirty, bench top worn,tv remote not working properly, ceiling needs patching, all cupboard doors shabby, cracked cups, no microwave dish and not even a bottle of dishwashing liquid just crumby little packets for 2 washes. Towel rack in bathroom was split and toilet with mismatching parts and looked unclean. Thin toilet paper. No hand towel or face washer. Tv could have been on wall so could watch from bed. A bbq on the deck would be a good accessory. Overall cabin very poor and we should have been offered a discount.

Loved the location and view from the bungalow. It honestly couldn’t get any better. We enjoyed the deck, the outdoor furniture and seating, and even the smart tv inside with Internet connection is a nice unexpected bonus. The campground itself was great. Respectful people and guests, quiet after 10pm, and truly an enjoyment to relax at.

The unit itself needs some TLC as some things just weren’t working right. These included: the kitchen tap was falling off, months worth of dust on the shutters, shelves and inside cabinetry. You can tell the unit has been swept and the linens are fresh which is great, but the unit honestly needs a proper deep clean. The exhaust fans are caked with dirt and dust, the cabinetry is brittle and old, and for the price you pay, a little upkeep would be nice. Older buildings are fine, but some basic maintenance, cleaning and upkeep is the base standard in today’s hospitality industry.

What I really liked about our stay was the stunning sunrise views from the ocean view cabins—Cabin 5 was a great fit for our family of three. I especially loved the idea of having the sofa bed made up by the entrance, as it faces the ocean and would have been the perfect spot to wake up. The setting was peaceful and beautiful during the day, and the kitchenette was convenient, equipped with a toaster and an electric kettle—great for slow mornings. We brought our moka pot and enjoyed our coffee rituals, and when we realised we’d forgotten our grinder, the Ellis Beach Bar and Grill saved the day with good coffee and generous portions of delicious food. And a huge bonus—it’s pet friendly!

I did find the highway noise at night, especially from passing trucks, a bit disruptive to sleep. The property lights were also quite bright, and while there were block-out blinds provided, using them meant sacrificing the beautiful airflow through the cabin at night. I’d recommend bringing a sleep mask if you’re sensitive to light. The cabin itself was lovely, but the windows and a few surfaces could have used a more thorough wipe-down. It didn’t affect us too much, but for guests with dust sensitivities or allergies, it might be more noticeable. These small things didn’t ruin the stay, but they did take a little away from what could have been a perfect experience.

It was everything i needed as my husband had passed 2 weeks prior to my stay. I had his ashes with me and sat him on the porch to catch the sunrises sunsets and ocean view/breeze. I needed it so much. Just perfect to be in the present.

The smoker next door... wasn't intentional , but I get headaches from the smell. Just closed the window and door to mask the smell.

This is true beachfront accomodation in cabins or camping. Cabins slowly being renovated once peak season is over. There is a Bar and Grill close by if you eat out but there are also a full kitchen facilities and crockery etc if you want to eat in.your cabin. Front deck of cabin overlooks the beach a few steps away. Listen to the waves and curlews at night. Other residents quiet and location perfect for long beach walks. This is an older facility but we are retired and prefer beachfront retro to luxury Cairns city prices. Nude beach mentioned in other reviews was a long way south so nowhere near us.

Some dated handles and a few cracked tiles. Could offer extra pillows. If you are fussy just bring your own.

linen changed more often. we were told no crocodiles for ages, however when we left we heard a person was taken by one from the beach 6 months ago. we would not have swum every day in the beach if we were aware of that.

Neat, clean and with its own deck on the beachfront. A decent sized fridge. Although near the main road, traffic noise was negligible and I noticed none during the night. Lovely to hear the gentle waves and wake up to the sunrise. The bed and pillows were really comfortable.

Proximity to neighbouring cabins means some lack of privacy when you're on the deck. Cigarette smoke from neighbours was inescapable. Decor and furniture is basic, but apparently cabin upgrades are in progress.

Exceptional because we stepped out of our cabin onto beachfront n patio was like an extended room to laze away n listen to sound of lapping waves / beautiful beaches to walk along either way - well & truly got in 10 000 steps! Grand service at Ellis Beach bar grill within east walk/very helpful office crew; couldn’t have asked for better weather & when heat stepped up great aircon still with beach views outside our front door so all in all a superb couple of days.

Furnishings are a little weary but it was still comfy and with the sea at our door, definitely no complaints. More than enough for our needs

You cannot beat sitting oceanside on your balcony and enjoying a drink, whilst listening to the waves roll in. Our stay was in summer, so we used the air-conditioning, however a stay in the cooler months, where you can leave the windows and doors open, to sleep to the tranquility of the oceanside, would be perfect. A stroll to the swimming nets and the pub across the road, makes for a great weekend away.

A delightful Holiday, A cozy hut which had everything we needed.. The large verandah was a great spot for dining. The beds were comfortable Our kids had a fun time-the beach, the pool, etc The beach was beautiful, as was the whole location.
