Last minute booking for only one night but really impressed. The pool area and decking looked very new. The room was nice, clean and again the facilities looked quite new. Far exceeded our expectations.

Clean modern resort. Lovely swimming pool which is a good length and has a really deep end! and decking area. Also, a BBQ and seating area. We liked the two cats that were lounging around on the lawn in the evening. The air conditioning in the room was fantastic. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Plenty of towels, including separate towels for the pool.
The tap in the bathroom needed repairing - a part had come off the lever of the mixer tap, making it hard to use.

We chose to stay here because it was within walking distance of the main Street and beach and because of the pool and communal kitchen. What we didn’t expect was the lovely Manager, Corinne and all-rounder Xavier who made it feel like a home away from home. We also loved chatting to the Argentinian guests who were staying at the resort longer term. We just loved our 12 days there and wish we could have stayed longer!
At the start of our stay the kitchen was a little out-dated but it was being upgraded by the time we were leaving. The resort is being improved under the new management.

Birch resort had the easiest check in process I have experienced. The room was very clean and tidy. Facilities were good.
Not sure what could be done about it but the rooms floor was extremely wet and slippery due to the heat, humidity and air conditioning.

Lovely, spacious, clean room! We had 2 very comfortable beds. The pool was great and the outdoor area that is provided for use is a really nice touch. Early check in was also organised for us quickly and efficiently at no extra cost. We would definitely stay again if we came back to Port Douglas.
The smoke alarm in our room was beeping constantly - I think it needed the batteries changed. We did WhatsApp the number on reception to ask for someone to come and fix it but never got a response. Overall it wasn't a huge issue, the beeping was just slightly annoying.

Last minute booking when we were flooded in. Helpful staff, clean, comfortable room.
We got locked out of our room but kids went around the back and got in to unlock from the inside

The manager was lovely and the cats were divine! It's a nice place, clean and tidy. Reasonable size room with two queen beds, coffee making facilities and a wee fridge, there is a nice shared guest kitchen and lounge space near the pool with shaded seats and a book nook. Nothing too fancy but a decent clean room, good shower, in a good location, nice staff, fabulous cats and a great Asian fusion restaurant, Bam Pow, an easy walk down the road (best to book for Bam Pow, it's pretty busy!)
The sticky door lock! I couldn't open the door, there was quite a trick to it.

Lionel was extremely kind and helpful. He went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. At night time he took me and my wife for a drive and showed us around port Douglas and upon arrival back to the resort had a surprise Barbeque for my wife and I 20 year anniversary. The resort itself is beautiful, it's about a 12 minute walk into town but it shouldn't be a problem if you enjoy talking at the same time. They offer star local shuttle discounts for customers at birch resort which is extremely handy if you don't have transportation. Gabe was amazing too , kind and patient and the check in process was one of the easiest I've ever been through in my life. I will definitely be staying here again when I shall return! Thank you Lionel and Gabe.
Everything was amazing.
