Great staff . Steph answered all my emails promptly. Jeff was outstanding always smiling and gave me good tips for the Daintree. Katherine was lovely and very helpful. I was surprised at how big the hostel is. I would have loved it more if I was young as it had a good vibe. Being a boomer! One of a few! It was ok as I had a private room.

Noise! Got woken most nights early hours of the morning by loud guests. To be expected in a large hostel. I knew that from reading reviews. So I can't really complain.

UNIQUE! ✨ 9 out of 10! The most suggestive and particular hostel I’ve been in Australia so far. Suggestive atmosphere to be a hostel, it looks like more a camping zone with tents and nice rooms. I stayed in a Room Tent for 2 person, more than enough space for both. If you’re planning to stay in Port Douglas or in any all the surrounding areas, I only recommend to stay here. Don’t choose any other accommodation. You sleep with the sounds of nature and the light of the morning. What else do you want from an hostel? This is something different that you will love.

Not a big issue but obviously there is no aircon in the rooms (talking about the tents), and that might be few mosquitoes here and there. Not a problem at all, you have a huge fan that helps you through the whole day. You can easily survive.

Great bar with some food options. Variety of accommodation types. Stayed in the safari tent and appreciated the wall divider for privacy. Cute pool. Pool table. Washers/dryers. Cool hang out spots. Lorenzo was amazing. And the guys at reception in the morning were wonderful!! Made me feel special on my birthday.

Could use more bathroom locations. Not their fault, but the toilets all had toilet paper on the ground and the shower had hair all on the walls. (People are animals). Shower stalls were a bit worn out looking.

Ease of use of facilities. Kitchen is open 5:30-11pm which is reasonable times. Showers open all night which is great. The room has aircon! I went during one of the hottest times of year (unknowingly) and I was very grateful for the aircon. There is housekeeping daily at 10am which is a nice feature. Staff are very friendly. I wish I could have had a drink at the bar during my stay but I had extreme heatstroke. Would definitely love to come back and regardless of the heatstroke I had an excellent time here. Highly recommend Port Douglas. Lovely stay.

Kitchen fridge is way too packed. Would be good if you guys used a system where you let everyone know on the fridges that food will be thrown out at a certain date to keep leftover bags from over spilling since there is a lot of food bags there and I’m sure a portion of those are not being used. There has to be a better system than that.

Pool area is great to cool off in the heat and lots of areas to relax and chill. Big kitchen area for cooking which is cleaned regularly. Fridge in the room was great. Easy to get to 4 mile beach and into town. Free parking and staff friendly and helpful. Aircon in room and showers were powerful. Good value compared to other prices in the area.

There is definitely something living in the roof, likely a possum. It didn't matter to us we made a joke out of it and put our ear plugs in at night. The WiFi wasn't working - but this is due to the cyclone so can't complain.

A lively place to stay with a great atmosphere. Lovely spaces to sit when eating. Pretty good facilities catering for a high number of people. Very well organized. Wonderful staff. Very nice pool area.

Can be a bit noisy at night, but if you prepared to put up with that, it's a great place to stay.

Had such a great stay at Dougies, the staff are all so accommodating. The room was really cool and all the shared facilities were good. It’s easy to walk into town and the perfect spot to stay for day trips.

Unfortunately the wifi wasn’t working when we were there which wasn’t anyone’s fault but was a bit frustrating.

Nice environment, nice people, comfortable bed and good aircon inside the rooms. I like they have enough space to have food, drink, dinner, plenty kitchen and good events on different days. Staff were exceptional amazing.

Rooms a bit messy but that is not relationed with the hostal is with the people

I like the place with nature atmosphere. Facilities are good and appropriated for clients. All stuffs are nice especially, Jef. He helped and looked after me in everything during my vacation. I had a wonderful holiday there.

I think I booked for girls room but i stayed with 2 guys. It's understandable.

Very nice place to stay in Port Douglas, lovely garden and pool, extremely friendly staff! You live outside and the atmosphere is pleasant.

Could be cleaner and cheaper, and it should be better to have some facilities into the private rooms (such as kettle/coffee maker…)
