I stayed during Festivale (there weren't many last-minute accomm options left) so chose to stay here rather than spending a ridiculous peak surcharge amount at a hotel. I didn't realise the bathroom was separate until I arrived but it wasn't a big deal, it's just across the hallway. Good soft/clean bed linen. Cold filtered water in fridge was appreciated. The room was fine - as expected and quite suitable for my short overnight stay. Lots of parking and check in/out was easy. Very good value, overall happy with my stay and would suit anyone on a limited budget.

As others have mentioned, it gets a bit noisy from other guests. (I sleep with earplugs anyway so no issue). The bathroom could've been a bit cleaner (there was some hair in the shower and the taps/fittings all needed a good scrub around the edges), the fan didn't work, and the soap dispenser/towel rail need refixing to the wall. A face washer would've been nice in the bathroom too. No aircon in the room but there is a ceiling fan, and room door was very squeaky so needs some WD-40 on the hinges. Pillows are very thin, I've never had to use 2 pillows ever! A couple of different higher/firmer options would be nice.

This was an awesome spot to stay. Great location, welcoming staff - nothing was too much bother! The food in the bistro was well priced and delicious, and the venue was lovely. Even the guests staying there were good fun! I will absolutely return when I can. I was travelling for work and will bring some clients with me next time we're in the area.

I guess perhaps the signage of where to check in could have been better but even that's not really necessary. I just asked the first person I saw and they knew where to point me! I was travelling with heavy bags so didn't want to cart them around while I looked for a staff member.

The room was larger than expected and clean. An extra blanket was available, which was required. The bathroom was modern looking and very clean. It was situated a few meters away from the room and in a cluster of a few individual bathrooms. Yes, you read it right! I had my own bathroom! Like an ensuite, but not in the room. Although there was a musical performance in the bar and the restaurant was busy (Thursday evening, public holiday), the noise didn't permeate upstairs to cause any discomfort. The man in charge that morning allowed me to store my luggage as I arrived in the morning for an afternoon check-in. There were several cafes a few doors away for breakfast, lunch & dinner.

The street was quite busy. The hotel was of a moderately walkable distance to the town centre, but distance was not an over-riding consideration in my selection. I only wanted a cheap room for the night before being picked up the next morning to embark on a tour. There were no tea/coffee making but a small fridge was available.

The bed was comfy, the room was very clean and the separate private bathroom was great as well. Good sized room and fantastic sound-proofing...I could hardly hear the pub underneath at night. Lovely friendly staff and great food in the pub. Also a good location, I could walk to other restaurants and parks and shops as needed. Pretty easy to get there and street parking available if you can't get into the small car park.

Could have been better with some curtains or something to block out the street light that was right outside my room, which the blinds couldn't quite block out. That's the only thing for room 9.

With a name like Sporties Hotel I must admit I had fairly low expectations, expecting some sort of a sports bar - and there are a lot of big screens in the bar where you can watch all sorts of games, but this is a very good, comfortable, respectable, old-fashioned pub. The meals are generous and the staff are great. We had our own large bathroom and had no trouble getting a park onsite. Only a 10 minute walk into town too.

Very nice hotel in old building with a bar at 1st floor. Everything is safe and sound, old but clean, good locations with lots of restaurants nearby. And price is super affordable for a room with private bathroom. Staffs are very friendly and supportive, helped me with the luggage storing for 2 days when I went to Cradle mt.

The only thing that you need to be mindful is bad sound-proofing so if you want to stay here, make sure you can sleep with the noise. As hotel is located at the crossroad so there’re always people driving in late at night or early morning. Weekend is a bit tricky as the bar downstair would operate until late (probably after 11pm).

Everything. The pretty location with many eating choices, the heritage, the bar and bistro downstairs had great food and good if limited wine choices. Proximity to the airport. Comfortable room with a ceiling fan on a hot night, a window I could open and a proper fly wire screen to prevent mosquitoes flying in. Clean spacious private bathroom. Immaculate bed linen. The pub closed in time for us to have an early night and sleep. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The bar patrons were mixed. It was not a ‘rough pub’. It was half the price of other options. Car parking was easy and free. Coles was a short walk away.

I liked everything about this property for the inexpensive price I paid. Slightly tired carpet on the steep staircase to the rooms.

Great location, staff friendly, very easy check in, room and bed comfortable. Overall a good stay in the city, the hotel is a bit old but its clean and has everything you need. The bar downstairs is also great, and we were pleased there was absolutely no noise whatsoever from the pub as it closed early and we had no disturbances whatsoever

No coffee/tea option in the room, that was the only thing missing for us, otherwise all good

Very comfortable compact space, clean tidy with a window that could open!

check in instructions were a tiny bit unclear and text for late check in arrived quite late- but we did get in after some initial confusion- message read ...the key is in lock box on the right hand side of front red door.... accommodation is through the black door- we were looking for the black door and then realised we had to go in the front red door to get to the black door!

Great location, super close to lots of food and shops. Staff was amazing and welcoming. Larger room than expected! Bathroom not attached but clean and close by!

It was a little noisy at night as the room is attached to the bar downstairs, however it wasn't too much of an issue as it quietened down early-ish. Shower pressure was tempermental as I think it might be linked to other taps near by.
