The property was well located to walk to many attraction. The room was a good size with other seating apart from on the bed.

No toilet brush in the bathroom and no air freshen to use. It would have been good to have more than 2 unmatched wine glasses, 2 smalls mugs and 2 water glasses. The coffee machine was good. Plates and cutlery (minimal) is always good for travellers. Lighting in the room could be improved. The food in the restaurant was very ordinary, perhaps the chef should taste before sending it out to the public. We sat one evening on a table for 3 and the waiter suggested maybe a table for 2. The lighting was poor which was why we chose the table we did. We nearly left.

Beds were comfy and location was great for what we needed. Meals were lovely, as were staff in Tram bar, opening hours could have been a bit longer.

Breakfast was good but a little inconsistent. Description of what was in room were not totally correct and was disappointed with not having what we thought we were booking. Also website & booking.com said 24hr room service and this was not correct. Also the fire alarms went off twice while we were there and had to evacuate once, was frustrating as it seems to be an ongoing issue. Our bathroom also didn't have a fan

Simple check in process, parking available although not secured or undercover. Good location near shops and a range of affordable dining options. Large, quiet, comfortable room with a bit of a view. Good bathroom with heater and a really good shower. Complimentary drink voucher provided on check in, very reasonable drink prices during "happy hour" in the restaurant bar (cocktails from $15, tap beer from $8) and a good choice of well-priced meals. We dined in the restaurant and the food was very nice. Good buffet breakfast or room service available and 11:00 am check out.

Toiletries provided but no washcloth. Not a big deal but the only (minor) negative of our stay.

Right in the middle of the city, close to shops and eateries etc. Basic facilities in room : couple of beds (twin share), a table with 2 chairs, one suitcase rack, wardrobe, tea/coffee facilities, fridge with milk provided. Toilet paper, tissues and bodywash/ shampoo/condition on wall. Had to contact reception if any other items needed (toothbrush, toothpaste, sanity bags, etc). Air-conditioner/heater in good working order. Iron provided. Only stayed a night. Breakfast was buffet style and a good range of foods to be had. Will stay here again when we need a nights accommodation in Launcestion.

Could hear people in the hallway as door thin and even when people not talking loud could hear everything they said. No other issues.

The hotel is located in the city of Launceston and easy to access to everything - shop/ restaurant / city walk stops. The rooms are clean but old style. The service is great and the reception when checking in and the first day are so nice and happy to answer all the questions.

The room is old style hotel and shower is inside the bath tube. Car park is small with limited spots. The price is a bit confused. Hotel charge 10 dollars one day overnight, however, the price on the label marked on 6 dollars overnight. The reception has explained about it the price was changed to 10 dollars and haven't changed yet.

We drove our rental car up to Launceston from Sandy Bay to track down some family graves at Carr Villa Memorial Park and get a sense of the place where my relatives first settled when they arrived in Tasmania from England back in 1885. We visited the cemetery before we drove on into town. The Best Western Plus has a convenient parking lot which doesn't cost a lot extra per night (and we only had to pay for one night), and the room was of a good size with among the most comfortable mattresses we've encountered in, by now, four and a half weeks of travel. We are hardy walkers and had no trouble getting to the Queen Victoria Art Gallery and from there on to the 65-million-year-old rock formations of Cataract Gorge and the Cataract Trail, with its stunning views of the South Esk river, followed by a stroll through nostalgic turn-of-the-century buildings, peacocks and wallabies less than six feet away from us and a thrilling ride on the world's longest single-span chairlift. The next day, we checked out of the hotel and visited the Queen Victoria Museum before wending our way down the East Coast of Tasmania back to Sandy Bay and our wonderful relatives. We can highly recommend the Best Western Plus.

I can't give an opinion of dinner or breakfast at the Best Western Plus, as we had made a reservation at Stillwater, a terrific dining experience, for dinner some time in advance and decided to eat close to the Queen Victoria Museum the next morning and head for the East Coast as soon as we had finished our museum visit. But everything we did experience at the Best Western Plus, we enjoyed a lot!

Proximity to the Princess Theatre meant walking to the venue easily.

Little things annoyed me this visit. No face washers in the bathroom, 2 lots of shampoo/conditioner bottles in the shower and no body wash/soap. Disappointing that rooms are not serviced daily unless you request it … this is new since our last visit and for what we pay a night, I feel it is very wrong. Cleaning service should be done daily unless you request it not to happen. I was also annoyed at the cleaning staff talking so loudly at 7.15am that woke me. When I was trained in house keeping we were told to keep voices down so as to not disturb guests. Very annoying.

What a hidden gem! We booked just for the one night, we had been travelling the north west and came down from Beaconsfield in the afternoon. Reception were very helpful and friendly. Parking was easy, it was just next door at a discounted rate of $6, you can park out the front of the hotel and drop off bags then go park the car, when leaving you can park at the back door and get your bags in the car from the lifts. So don't be put off by parking offsite, it's actually not what i would consider offsite. The room was big and spacious, plenty of room in the bathroom, with nice hot water and good water pressure. The TV was massive! We had a lounge to sit on instead of sitting on the bed to watch TV and we ate in the restaurant downstairs with the tram in the restaurant, how quirky! The drinks and food were reasonably priced and good value and it was great that after travelling all day we didn't have to go out of the hotel for food. The bed was very comfortable, the heating was cosy and appreciated as the weather had turned bad with wind and rain, but we felt very safe and secure in the hotel. The hotel is easy to find and is right in the middle of the CBD so lots of shops and restaurants are close by, so is the Cataract Gorge and City Park. Thanks again, we will be back for another stay if we are ever in Launceston.

Nothing, everyone was great.

Very last minute booking due to a hospital visit, but we were made feel very welcome & even given a toothbrush! Great restaurant on site - dinner was excellent & breakfast equally so. I'd definitely stay there again. Beds & pillows perfect.

Just one issue, no face washers. I've noticed this in accommodation recently & normally would pack my own. Even a disposable wash cloth - similar to hospital & nursing home supplies, would suffice.

This hotel is in a convenient location. The staff are friendly and helpful. The room was a comfortable size with places to open two suit cases. The room had working air conditioning. The hotel has breakfast available and restaurants. We appreciated to in house laundry room. We had a wonderful time in the very charming Launceston at this hotel. We probably should have stayed for a full week. There is so much to do in the area.
