This B&B was delightful with beautiful classy furnishings and very comfortable beds. Location was good and only a 4 minute drive downtown where we had the best pizza at La Cantina Italian restaurant. Had a 2brm room which was perfect for 2 travelers travelling. Would be good for a family of 5 as the second bedroom had 3 beds. It had a nice little balcony as well. Breakfast was ample with cereal, yoghurt, toast etc. The coffee excellent. Recommended this B&B especially for couples as it had a fireplace in the bedroom - very romantic!

Maybe a small table and chairs inside the main living area instead of the chaise so if we stayed longer, we could get takeaways and have somewhere to eat but otherwise, everything was great. Its a really nice place to stay

The building is lovely and very well cared for, breakfast was simple continental style, Location was quiet and walking distance to CBD but steep hill on homeward journey. Room was simply decorated but comfortable and the heater had been turned on prior to our arrival on a wintry Launceston day and was greatly appreciated. Bed was cosy and comfortable and plenty of hot water for the shower.

We parked on the street as were unsure off arrangements to park on the property but it was a very quiet street so were comfortable with that

Everything was perfect! beautiful tasteful rooms, wonderful bed linens and bed decoration, most polite helpful Susie, so pretty old victorian style house, atmosphere, the yummiest berry yogurt at breakfast and so freshly cut fruit salad, coffee excellent too, served in such a beautiful breakfast room, with the nicest balcony just in front. Excellent location, like just 2 minutes walk to a park where a french coffee place is. Our room was spacious, with a beautiful view. Coffee and tea and biscuits in the room. Highly recommend it.

everything perfect

The hotel is in an old building with lovely architecture. The inside of the hotel is also fascinating. The room itself was very spacious, with a high ceiling. We got a two-bed room, which we did not expect but welcomed. The hotel's location is okay, but at the top of a hill, so walking to the downtown area became quite a hike.

There is no parking in the hotel, but parking on the street was easy. The toilet was a bit small. The wifi was terrible; it didn't work at all during our stay. Breakfast was a bit disappointing.

A very charismatic place. The host gave us warm personal touch.

I like everything in the house. Just that the facility list in Booking.com was a bit confusing, I expected 2 bathrooms as the facility list in Booking.com mentioned shower, bath, toilet, private bathroom, bath or shower in ‘separate bullet points’. We realise there was only 1 bathroom sharing amongst our group when we checked in. But this minor misunderstanding did not affect us too much, we all enjoy the overall stay very much.

We really enjoyed our 3 night stay in this gracious old mansion. Our room was very light, spacious, clean and comfortable. A complimentary continental breakfast provided a good start to the day. We loved the area, an old part of Launceston high above the CBD with gracious old mansions and parks, and got good exercise walking down to the many restaurants and bars downtown, especially on the way back! Our host Susanna was very helpful and friendly

Nice big room with vanity sink in the bedroom, which is a bit weird in this day and age.

The address is High Street and it really is the highest street in Launceston. You can walk down to town but only fit people would attempt to walk back up! Breakfast was not worth it - just bread for toast and very small chunks of fruit - reminded me of tin fruit.

Very beautiful house and very clean. Susanna is a warm and welcoming host. Our room is very spacious and every time we came back to our room from exploring Launceston we feel like we are at home safe and relaxed.

Launceston is generally hilly so be prepared for the hilly landscape. This part of Launceston is hilly but gorgeous so I find it worth the effort and we found taxi in Launceston very reasonably priced so problem solved for us.

I came across Windarra as a last minute search for accommodation, close to Launceston hospital, as my wife had recently broken her ankle. All aspects of my stay exceeded my expectations. Susanna (host) is very kind, considerate, and was very compassionate to my situation. She responded immediately to my queries, being very flexible to my needs (late arrival, parking), taking the trouble to ensure that I would be comfortable. 'The Residence' is a very spacious apartment, with a large windowed central room (a tasteful extension to the old house), linked to the original (refurbished) building, bed rooms, separate lounge, and a very large bathroom. It met every possible need. This is very comfortable accommodation. The location on High Street (elevated on the ridge line) is central to all of Launceston's highlights.

We loved everything, it was such a beautiful property, it made us feel like we stepped back in time. Much easier to navigate the stairs than travel in the UK but with a similar feel. This place is fun, romantic and comfortable. The breakfast is just perfect to kickstart a day exploring this historically aclaimed city. The dining room fireplace if lit, says "come, sit a while, take time to wake up before going ut this morning". This family owned business is well worth supporting.

So sad that our stay was not longer 😆
