Clean, spacious with a Mountain View which looked out onto wildlife

The attitude of the chap on reception. I commented that when I had booked I got a message from Booking.Com ( alleging that my booking had to be reconfirmed by a different route by pressing on a link). This was obviously a scam. I emailed privately the Lodge and was told it was not from them and not to press the link. When I mentioned this to the chap on reception he was not interested at all. This has been my only negative experience during my trip to Australia.

Very close to the Grampians with scenic view of the mountains. It's an older looking style motel, but I thought it was part of the charm. Very close to the town centre and restaurants and shops, staff are helpful and attentive. Beds wer nice and comfortable, and the TV allowed you to sign into your own apps (youtube/Netflix) Tea, coffee and cookies were provided. Very quiet at night, great place to relax.

The grounds near the BBQ area were a bit dirty and rundown, although the staff cleaned it up once it was pointed out. The back sitting area weeds were a bit overgrown.

The view of the mountains from our room was lovely. The location is very convenient, most eateries and shops are within walking distance. The bed was comfortable. We liked having a microwave, plates and cutlery in the room. While there was no one there to greet us, the phone number on the office door was answered promptly and the management were helpful.

While this motel offers great views and position in central Halls Gap, it is looking tired and in need of a bit of attention. The town has had a difficult time recently with the Grampians fires nearby causing temporary closures. Don’t let that put you off though, it’s a beautiful place all year round with so much to see and do.

Views of the Grampians and the paddocks out back, proximity to town, all the kangaroos and the assistance we got with doing our load of washing. We were charged a fixed fee for doing a load of washing in the rear of the hotel, for which we received half an hour of assistance from the young man who unlocked the laundry for us and showed us how to use the washer and dryer. This was well over and above given what we paid for the service and the staff (especially the young fella who helped us) are to be commended for their outstanding customer service.

Walkable to town centre. Large & clean rooms. Walls are thin but located on quiet street. Good hot shower pressure & plenty vanity surface space. Great heater unit in room. Comfortable beds! Overall great value for money and would come back to stay at the units facing the mountains!

- Listing on booking.com advertised as daily housekeeping but manager on the day said otherwise during our stay after I asked why my room was not made. I stayed 3 nights and only left the sign for housekeeping on for 1 night. Though staff were quick to rectify issue when queried. - BBQ was dirty so decided against cooking.

I liked the position of the motel. The rooms were a good size, and the kangaroos in the garden were a treat. A lovely quiet location with lovely views of the majestic Grampians.

The bathroom has a mould issue between the door and the shower. The bench top was a little old/sad and the shower leaked. Tried turning the taps off tight, but it still leaked. Also the guttering around the shower was dirty with hair and other germy content. The mould issue needs to be addressed asap, as does the cleaning of the guttering around the base of the shower But in saying that, the room was good value for money. I would definitely stay here again as long as the issues are addressed.

The motel was in a great location as we were in walking distance to shops and restaurants. The room was clean and comfortable and you could park right outside your room. The room was a little bit dimly lit and the outside courtyard where you can sit at the table & chairs needs a bit of work to make it more attractive! There was plenty of birds and other wildlife to enjoy from the courtyard area!

The property is in quiet central location in Halls Gap. Close to restaurants and other amenities. It had everything we needed for a very comfortable stay during our Grampian Peaks Trail hike. It was comfortable and clean and we had access to laundry including a dryer. Moreover, the staff kept a bag for us before we arrived so that we had our food ready to go for the next stage of the trip. They also kept our bag till after our trip. A great service.

Room was a good size (stayed in room 4 for two separate nights), clean, comfortable and everything I needed. A nice display of local wildlife on the lawn in the morning was an added bonus!

Well, this is a tiny issue. But why is it so hard for motel rooms to have kettle that is easy to fill from the only tap in the bathroom - this seems to be an issue is most motels. I don't understand!

I have stayed here many times. the location is perfect, a short stroll to all the shops, cafes, restaurants and pub. The view from the rooms facing Boronia peak are excellent. The motel is in a quiet street behind the main shopping strip, accommodation is good and owners are always helpful.

I have never found any reason to complain and i have stayed here six or seven times.
