The Howey is right in the middle of the CBD. The room was comfy (in a modern sort of way), the bathroom great and the TV options good. Staff were helpful in orienting us to some of our interests and explaining the transportation system.

Our initial staff experience at check in was a little disappointing, but subsequent staff interactions were fine. The bed was ok, but the pillows too large and hard.

The massive bath! The perfect location! The bed! It’s a great place!

The staff look you up and down each time you walk in and out, judgemental like. The water in the shower would change from hot to cold which made having a pleasant shower impossible. The lifts can be extremely slow and have significant waiting times.

Beautiful room - love the separated toilet and showers, really spacious. Great location. Very well soundproof considering the location.

Check in staff was lovely! Check out staff was lovely too. However I had stored my luggage at the hotel for the day as my flight wasn’t until later - I was greeted with a friendly smile by the desk staff at the time as she asked, “Checking in?” but as soon as I said no, I’ve checked out, just after my luggage that I had stored for the day (all with a smile might I add), and the way her smile just dropped as she seemed rather annoyed instead. She passed the bag across to me and not a single thank you or see you next time.

With a convenient, centralised location in the heart of the city, the Howey is a great place to spend the night on a trip to Melbourne. The rooms are modern and spacious with good amenities. The beds were comfortable with a selection of pillows. A large TV was available with Chromecast built in, making it easy to stream and watch media. To top it all off, the reception was open 24/7 and the staff were helpful and accommodating.

No major complaints. The light switches in the room were finicky at best, needing to be pressed a specific way to operate. There were small faded black marks on one of the sheets on the bed. A minor gripe was the wrong honorific (Ms) being used on the TVs welcome screen. Finally, there aren't any meal options at the hotel, although given its great location, this is not a real problem.

The rooms were very spacious and beautifully designed. Shower and bath tub were amazing. The front of the hotel is covered so you can walk across to the Union cafe (they have amazing coffee and jaffas-toasties)for coffee without getting wet if it rains. It’s centrally located. Short walking distance to ACMI, State library Victoria and Melbourne central, not to mention the endless food places. There is also a coined laundry room in the facility on the first floor. That was very convenient for us since we got to Melbourne from Fiji. Big shout out to every single staff member there, they are so accommodating and professional.

Very convenient and walking distance to anywhere shops like food, clothes, chemist and etc right across the road, trams to where I needed to be was very close which was a win for me. I was also able to come and leave anytime. My friend that gladly didn’t tag along I was able to have extra blankets and privacy. Staff were friendly and helpful. Staff was understanding when I lost a keycard and being straight up and honest.

I didn’t know about the $100 Security Deposit but looked again on the app I booked on and seen it. The alcoholic beverages and etc in the mini fridge were a bit pricey, especially since I had to pay for the room.

The room I stayed in was perfect for one person as there was a lot of open space throughout the bathroom, bedroom, couch area. My favourite part was definitely the location, everything was within walking distance. The noise was minimal despite being in a central location, bed was incredibly comfy.

I would’ve wished there was more of a view, some more lighting in front of the bigger mirror/hallway, if the doors were a bit more sound proof as the sounds of house keeping or other guests would seep in, the placement of the shower was a bit better to prevent water from coming out when turning it on and that the tv didn’t have interruptions while trying to connect every time, and on the day of checking in there was construction going on so we had to walk a fair bit with our luggage’s to get to the hotel so a mention of that would’ve been nice - but all in all it was okay!

Modern layout of the room. No view, but it was a very nice brick wall we looked out on. We were able to just drop and run with our luggage, and were able to check in easily later on. Friendly staff.

We had problems with the air-conditioning overnight so it was a bit stuffy. Also minor repairs/ cleaning needed with water overflow from the kettle (or coffee machine? we couldn't work out which). Entrance area not inviting as there was quite a bit of construction going on at the entrance of the laneway. Very minor stuff, and once the construction is finished and laneway cleaned up it will be much more welcoming.

Professional and very friendly staff members who went out lf their way to make my stay memorable. Great location, very close to Bourke Street mall. Very accessible to restaurants and shopping - The Block Arcade, Royal Arcade, Flinders Lane, Emporium, QV, Melbourne Central etc. Good value for money. Love the separation of shower space and toilet space from the vanity unit. Huge TV screen. Comfy bed. Safe box. Nespresso coffee maker. Huge windows.

Nothing really. One of the bath towels was torn but it was promptly replaced by the staff member when brought to her attention. Potential construction site in close proximity perhaps?

Massive room in a very central part of Melbourne. This is a new and modern hotel and it was really clean and very comfortable.

As well as having a non operating bar and kitchen, there is no room service available and no coffee shop open nearby until 8am, which is difficult when travelling for work. There are staff sitting at the front desk, and it's not a busy hotel, so they could make a coffee or pour a drink for guests and offer grab and go style food like many other hotels do.
