Quiet lane way hotel. Our room faced towards Swanston Street with views over neighboring rooftops. Received plenty of sunlight throughout the morning. Lovely staff. Plenty of space. Partner was able to work in both the room, and in the lobby with no issues (plenty of power points in both locations). Will be even better once cafe opens up.

Pillows looked nice and inviting upon arrival, but ended up not being perfectly comfortable to sleep on. Appreciated the length. However, by morning, found that I had sunk through the fluffiness. Unfortunately double layering made it too high to fall asleep on.

Great location. Nice room. Huge tv. Great shower and use of the space.

The doona was literally a quilt between two bed sheets. Also house keeping don’t seem to check the toilet paper stock. Once I had to ask reception for another roll and then housekeeping still didn’t refill the extra in the drawer. It was only when I was totally out of toilet paper and purposely left an empty roll on the holder that they actually provided a new roll. The alley also felt a little sketchy to walk down alone as a female at night when coming back from AO (but I did appreciate someone manning the reception at all hours). Wish there was more room in the fridge to put my own bottles of water. The fridge was waaaay too full.

The hotel had a very good overall modern feel to the interior. Our room was very clean and the staff were very friendly and welcoming.

Since we stayed in the opening week, the only facilities open was the gym. Although the hotel had just opened up for business, we could’ve been notified about this. Otherwise, the hotel was great.

The room was super comfy. The bed was lovely and I loved the extras like robes and a book about Melbourne. We had booked two corner rooms and mine was on the 4th floor so I had a view but my sons on the 2nd floor didn't so definitely request higher floors if you want a view. The hotel could not have been better located and was a stones throw was restaurants, cafes and shops. The tram was close by too.

Although I asked for quiet rooms both my sons and my rooms were overlooking construction work which started at 7am so woke us up early after a late night the night before! There are no facilities so it just serves as a bed for the night.

Cleanliness and location was great. Close to the trams and food places. Walkable distance to a lot of places to see. Good place to stay for a few nights. The modern finishes were pleasing. Large smart TV was great to watch Netflix and YouTube. Bed was comfy, sheets were clean. Great storage space, made it easy to keep the room organised. The mini bar range was quite good, but I didn't try.

The view was a bit disappointing, our window faced a construction site. Also, there wasn't a master light switch so it was annoying to get up and turn off all the lights before sleeping. The powerpoint next to the bed was so low and close to the side table that my charger didn't fit so I had to move the side table to the side. Also, the shower door kept opening a bit by itself after closing so water would get everywhere. Bath towels were a bit dated with usage.

The location is amazing, so easy to get out and explore Melbourne CBD and the surrounding suburbs. The bed was very comfy and we slept so well, which isn’t always so for us.

The rooms are really nicely designed but there are a few quirks on the bathroom that were a bit irritating. The shower water was leaking under the screen into the toilet space and the sliding doors that enclosed the bathroom, while super cool and a great design idea, weren’t on a floor track so they hit the wall every time they slid into the cavity. It’s clearly been patched already so it seems like an ongoing issue. The mini bar is too small, you can’t fit a bottle of wine in it.

we loved the aesthetics, as soon as you walk up to the big glass doors it looks incredible, we were greeted by Big smiles on our arrival, all the staff were lovely and very helpful throughout our stay. the tiny details on everything were exceptional! we were blown away for having a bottle of Moet on arrival for our anniversary, as it was super special for me and my husband to share this time away as it never happens with being parents to 2 young children. We loved the bath and the mood lighting in the room, the velvet couch was extremely comfortable, as well as the bed, we had the best sleep of our lives we agreed the next morning. loved to wake up to T2 teas and the fact it was very easy to cast our phones to the tv to stream movies made the stay very relaxing.

tv wasn't near the bath. not enough milk for coffees ( i like a lot of milk, but it was definitely do able.) also the mugs were to big for the number of coffees provided. as they would need a double shot to not be watered down or bitter. robes in the bath suits would be a great add in :) the location of the hotel i marked 9 out of 10 as it was a bit ere walking back at night, as there is not parking right by. We had parking a street away. so it wasn't a long walk. but I'm sure once the construction on the opposite side if finished, it will be perfect. these points didn't affect our time, just noted. its honestly the most luxurious place.

We recently had the pleasure of staying at The Howey in Melbourne, and I can confidently say it exceeded all expectations. This boutique hotel is perfectly situated in a central location, within walking distance of everything you'd want to explore in Melbourne — from shops to restaurants and cultural attractions. Our room was incredibly spacious and modern, offering plenty of room to relax. It even had a lounge area, which was a pleasant surprise, making it feel more like a home away from home. The room was also impressively quiet, which made for a peaceful stay. A standout feature was the two TVs — one in the lounge area and one near the bed — providing plenty of entertainment options. The bathroom was equally spacious, and I particularly appreciated the beautiful local products provided. It was clear that great care had been taken to ensure comfort and style. Additionally, the coffee machine in the room was a nice touch, ensuring that we could start our day with a perfect cup. Despite being in such a central location, The Howey is in a quiet area, with block-out blinds that guarantee a restful night’s sleep. The beds were exceptionally comfortable, adding to the overall relaxation of our stay. We were in town for a staycation, and had originally planned to drop off our bags early. However, we were warmly greeted by the lovely two ladies at the reception who not only made us feel incredibly welcome but also accommodated an early check-in. The reception area itself was funky and spacious, offering a perfect spot to relax. When it came time for check-out, we were again greeted by the same warm and friendly ladies, who made sure our departure was just as smooth as our check-in. They even remembered my husband's birthday and wished him a wonderful weekend, which was a lovely personal touch. We were also pleasantly surprised to receive a thoughtful birthday card from the hotel, making us feel truly appreciated.

The room was lovely, modern and clean. The mattress was super comfortable. Tv was huge and I lived the coffee machine (would have been even better if there had been a milk frother) Location was excellent so close to the mall and great eating places, coffee, trams and close for walking anywhere else. Staff were so friendly and helpful. One amazing staff member organised us a new room when he found out how noisy ours was (we were staying four nights so we very much appreciated it). NONE of the noise was the fault of the hotel, rubbish trucks late at night and building works across the street…

Our first room was very noisy, no fault of the hotel, we were given a different room by a lovely staff member who organised it so quickly (it certainly wasn’t expected)… we loved everything about the hotel!

The location is great, room was very quiet despite it being next to the lift, no sound at all, not even construction noise.

On arrival there was a holding bond fee of $100 taken said to be credited on departure, however it was debited from my account before reaching the room and apparently will be credited at their discretion in the coming weeks. That is not acceptable. I had also left a pair of script glasses behind but was told they aren't there without even looking..Have to su k that one up.
