Incredibly convenient and central location where we could walk almost everywhere we wanted to go, including to the SkyBus Terminal. It’s within an laneway that is lined with a fantastic variety of restaurants, cafes and even specialty hot chocolate. Below the hotel is also a highly rated Thai restaurant. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable.

Only minor but one of the elevators didn’t go to our floor so sometimes it took a while to reach our room.

The room was small but suited our needs. We really appreciated the kitchenette and blackout curtains. The room was quiet (window faced an alley) and the staff was incredibly kind and helpful. And the location was great as well, with easy access to the Free Tram Zone on both Collins and Elizabeth.

We were so grateful that they honored our request for a bathtub, but we couldn't get the water to come out of the faucet for the tub so we had to fill the tub by running the shower. The bathroom also didn't have good ventilation/intake fan so the steam filled up our room, making things feel damp. We cracked the windows open but it didn't help much. We enjoyed our stay here but this is the only hotel where we've had this problem so I wanted to mention it.

We absolutely loved our stay in Causeway 353 hotel. The location is excellent, the staff is superfriendly and helpful, the gym was small but sufficient for a hotel gym, the room was amazing and peacefull. The bathroom was clean and had a bath which was nice to soak in after a day of exploring in lovely Melbourne :). The staff were very friendly and helped us with any question we had. Even helped us book a tour to the great ocean road for the best possible price. I am definitely going back to visit Melbourne again someday and I will most certainly stay again at Causeway 353.

I've stayed here several times over the years and quite like it. The location is amazing for a decent price and the best thing is that it is pretty sound proof, plus the blockout curtains are great. These reasons are why I keep coming back - there's not really any views (in the rooms I've had so far) but I'm happy to forego that if I'm not being charged too much, and the city sounds are kept out of the room! Plus it's an easy walk to the Mall, Marvel Stadium, the River, Flinders Lane...anywhere really. This time though the tiles in the shower looked mouldy in the grout - probably stained but they need updating (578). Otherwise the room was decent and clean with a microwave and really nice glassware! Wine glasses, and drinking glasses. It's a no frills accommodation in the way of not having its own restaurant, but the location with restaurants all around make up for it. Staff were friendly every time I walked through the reception area. Beds have always been top notch here too. Thankyou

Great location, central, tram stops close by and walking distance to a wide variety of shops, restaurants, bars and atteactions. Room was smaller than expected but comfortable for our 2 night city stay cay. Great communication when it came to parking. Divvy parking was literally across the road.Undercover and secure. Followed hotel instructions for discounted rate on DIVVY app. Entrance to hotel is actually in the laneway. Hard to see the Green sign with hotel name pending on which way you came. Had an idea as I google mapped before we arrived. Good little eateries in the lane way. Busy in mornings. We didn't get any noise from laneway of a night which was good. Good value for money. Would stay again.

Some cutlery in the room would be useful and perhaps a blanket in the wardrobe for when you want that extra layer.

The apartment was quite spacious so room to move around. Situated in the Melbourne CBD it was close to all transport and an easy walk to the main city shopping area. The twin beds were comfortable enough but close together with one right against the external wall which made the bedding difficult to tidy up.

Unfortunately, the hotel is situated in a lane (not the cleanest and tidiest of lanes) between Little Collins and Collins Streets. For two female occupants, the wardrobe space was very inadequate as it also housed a set of small drawers, the ironing board, iron and an electrical switch box which took up much of the hanging space. We are keen about helping the environment and although we left our towels on the rails (to save replacements), the staff seemed to ignore this and all our towels were replaced on several occasions even when we mentioned this to the cleaners.

As always the Staff were awesome! We come every year and it's the food choices in the alley and how close this hotel is to everything. The room was big enough small enough to fit me and my friend for the week.

The second bed had a little dip in the middle.. my friend felt a little uncomfortable - we brought a spare pillow (as we drive down from Sydney) - she used this to fill in the gap (hehehe). Second the fridge was on 1 setting.. frozen! (not that I didn't like it.. but I had to defrost my water before I can drink it hehehehe) this isn't a negative.. it was a plus in my books!

The location is great. So central in Melbourne. The lane where the hotel entrance is in has some excellent cafes and food options. The bathroom was perfect. All newly done. It had a large basin and some hotels have such small ones that you can barely clean your teeth. Plus an area at the back of the basin big enough to put toilet bags etc. the bed was very comfortable.

Some furniture might need a spruce up. Our room had a cupboard door where the fridge was, that needed fixing and perhaps a paint. But that was very minimal and not at all a complaint.

This is well run good for money hotel. It always has been and I have stayed at the hotel on many occassions.

The parking instructions in the email booking.com sent after the booking are not complete. This caused me to have to pay the casual rate rather than the discount rate, an additional $21. The first set of instructions is incomplete and does not contain the discount code. If you follow those instructions you will not get the discount. If you scroll down to the instructions provided by Causeway 353, this is not an obvious thing to do, it is very clear. As far as I can tell this a booking.com issue. The helpful staff at Causeway 353 explained they have no control over what booking.com puts in their email. They were apologetic however could not correct my overcharge and cannot change the booking.com email.

Location was great close to the Bourke St Mall and Flinders Street Station. Many restaurants nearby and cafes. Parking was off site but virtually across the lane.
