Location to our night out (Forum Theatre) was great.Enjoyed lunch at Ms Ava and breakfast at Mr Tompkins.

Don't think exhaust fan in bathroom worked.Loose tap fitting at bathroom sink.Our vehicle got it's passenger front window smashed in the recommended Secure Parking next door.There was nothing of value inside taken but obviously they thought there was.We reported this to Rendezvous and they were nice and apologetic about it but could not help further apart from sending someone to clean up glass from the parking spot.

Firstly the room we booked had a shower over the bath which was very awkward, we then asked if we could change which we did an upgrade to a suite as the only option available. The staff were very helpful at this stage but contacted me to say unfortunately we would have to change back to the standard room due to heavy bookings. This was acceptable as they offered a breakfast in exchange for the additional payment already paid for at the upgrade to the suite. The staff went above and beyond to be as helpful as they could. The young Greek bar employee at the Ms Ava Bar was a standout employee. Concierge was extremely helpful also.

Perhaps the dining room was a bit drab and the breakfast was lacking in attention to topping things up. One could see they lacked additional staff in this area.

Nice mix of new and old. Very impressive breakfast at a very reasonable cost. Good location.

Hadn't put room heating on prior to our arrival. It was 13 C in the room. Not nice. The sliding ensuite door had a habit of sliding fully open. Also not so nice. Only two lifts; one was out of action for our entire stay (four nights). There was no stair option so getting the lift was sometimes an exercise in practising patience. There was 'secure parking' available next door. It was horrible. I would not have liked to leave a good car in there. It was filthy, broken glass on the floor (not cleaned up in four days) and didn't appear to be 'secure' at all.

We had a lovely time staying in this well maintained hotel with old world charm. We were given a room on a high level with lovely view of the Yarra river and beyond. Our room was not big but it was very well furnished and very comfortable overall. There is an excellent bar down stair for drinks and coffee. Also, the staffs were great.

The breakfast experience could be better- Breakfast was in the basement restaurant with the lighting kept very very low and background music very loud. I suggest to turn up the lights and turn down the music, or move breakfast to an area up-stair with natural light. and outlook.

The location is great, though I could still hear a bit of the train from across the street, nothing my ear plugs couldnt solve. The rooms were modern and sleek, and enjoyed using the chromecast to watch netflix.

The staff were in general friendly and polite, but the day I checked in, there was a problem with their key card system and I couldn't go up to my floor in the lift nor open my room. I had to go up and down twice and on the 3rd time, had to wait outside my room for the staff to tap me into my room (with their master key). It was quite an unpleasant experience while checking in, exhausted and just wanted to finally get to my room to rest. No compensation was made, not even offering a free breakfast. A few days later, I saw a couple also facing the same issue, so apparently that week, they really had a lot of problems with their key card system.....

I love the location, the parking garage is right beside, the train station is opposite, 24hour walkers donuuts, Starbucks, massage place around corner (we got deep tissue and omg! Go, try!) We got nightly cocktails with our room which you just go up to bar, quote your room number. I love the character of the building, our Edwardian room was fabulous, tall ceilings, big windows, coffee machine. The shower is big, pressure is wonderful. Staff at reception and bar were fantastic. I will probably stay here everytime I come to Melbourne because of convenience and location and price.

Having stayed here before, I guess my expectation is high. On this occasion they dropped the ball a little.... we were attempting in room dining and it honestly felt like phone tag, we could not get through, then it went to reception, then we got hung up on... we put the thing on the door for our room to be made up only to come back after our day out and our coffee cups were in bathroom sink... nothing major, but this is why this time our stay was very good instead of exceptional! Amazingly friendly staff at check in. Lots of history attached to the building. Lifts to all floors, although sometimes we had to change lifts to get to all the places we wanted to go in the hotel p. Location - across the road from Flinders Street Station; easy walk to NGV and other cultural places; close to free trams, covering virtually all areas of inner Melbourne; huge choice of eateries within easy walking distance

On seeing our allocated room, we just turned around and went straight back to Reception. Apparently our specific requests (twin beds and walk in shower) had not been noted. First room was especially small, but second room was much better. No instructions in the room as to how to change rain shower to standard hand held one. No bottled water available in the room. Breakfast buffet food was disappointing.

We were welcomed by busy but friendly smiling reception staff Bennett looked after us , he was courteous and very helpful Have walked passed this beautiful old styled hotel for years , so was thrilled to be staying here for 2 nights Our room was comfortable , bed was amazing , good pillows as well and quiet considering how close we were to Flinders Street. Terrific Location for doing any activities in the area , we walked to Marvel Stadium and Lightscape and back easily A huge thankyou to Kim , Kevin and Tony for sorting out the issue of getting our car out off the secure parking, our mistake 😬 very inexpensive charge to staying here :)

We have stayed at Rendezvous many times, and each visit has been consistently excellent. From the moment we arrive, the staff make us feel welcome with their friendly and professional service. The rooms are always spotlessly clean, with comfortable beds that guarantee a great night’s sleep. The breakfast is another highlight of our stays — a wide selection of fresh and delicious options to suit all tastes, and the service is always attentive without being intrusive. The overall atmosphere of the hotel is relaxing, and we always leave feeling refreshed and well looked after. Rendezvous has become our go-to choice whenever we’re in town, and we can’t recommend it highly enough for anyone looking for comfort, great service, and a truly enjoyable stay.

The only small downside we’ve experienced is with the lifts near reception. On every stay, only one has been in operation, which often leads to long waits — sometimes more than 10 minutes. On a few occasions, we’ve opted to take the stairs instead, but anything above the 3rd floor is quite a climb.

We loved the old world charm of the motel, the restaurant onsite as well as buffet breakfast. We loved the location, easy to get to using public transport, close to shopping and dining precinct, easy access to the aquarium if travelling with children. The rooms where quiet, the robes were soft and luxurious, we would stay here again

It was difficult to pick something we didn’t like but I would say the placement of spreads near toaster, they are down low where people stand in front of to wait for there toast… and keeping up with the supply of eggs, bacon, mushrooms seemed difficult as there wasn’t much available at the time we went.
