Staff was beautiful and friendly. The location is central and next to Flinders Train station.

I was at this accommodation when it first opened under Selina about 2 years ago and unfortunately, the condition and hygiene of this place has deteriorated a lot especially the kitchen. I know this isn’t directly a management issue but strict conditions / rules needs to be imposed on travellers to ensure they respect the kitchen area and clean up. It was a mess and the toilets aren’t as well kept as they used to be as well.

Nice staff and good common areas. I especially appreciate the soundproof booths for working and taking calls.

Rooms very stuffy and barely any circulation

Staff were absolutely wonderful - very friendly and happy to chat! The rooms were large and well-ventilated, beds comfortable with a great amount of privacy as a result of the curtains. The lockers in the beds were very useful however I did find myself bumping my head on them a lot. Bathrooms were well-maintained though some of the private cubicles did suffer with leaky showers. Water pressure was mostly good and temperature was pretty good too, much better than I've experienced in other hostels. I mostly ate at friends' places but I did visit the kitchen and it's large and well-equipped. The laundry facilities were great and reasonably priced as well.

It did get a bit loud occasionally (but all the noise was from outside - the other guests were very respectful of noise), especially on weekends but being in the CBD you have to expect that.

It was my first experience in a hostel and I was very suprised in a positive way. The building is obviously really old, you can tell by the squeaky floors and old lift but the rooms have been beautifully renovated and the beds are really comfortable. Extra points for the curtains and privacy on the bedroom. I stayed on the 3rd floor where the bathrooms were private (shower+toilet in the same room) so it was very convenient.

The bathrooms didn't seem to have been renovated in the same level as the rooms, they weren't horrible but they could be newer and a little bit cleaner. Maybe because it was winter, the hostel events weren't too social, I went to the winter market and it was me, the hostel employee and one more girl, but it was worth it anyways!

Great staff who are always willing to help. The location is amazing situated across the road from Flinders train station, a few minutes walk from Southbank and close to cafes, restaurants, city centre etc. Regular events for travellers. Kitchen is a decent size and has a co work area with mini privacy pods that you can use if you need a quiet space to work in. Beds are comfortable and clean with privacy curtains and a locker next to bed to keep belongings in. Laundry is in basement and accepts debit/credit card (located if you walk past the bar and past the curtain). $6 for washing and $5 for dryer (at time of this being posted). Make sure you keep your swipe on you as you need it to access hostel out of hours (entrance), toilets/showers, floors in lifts etc. All in all - a great quality hostel. Will definitely be staying here again at some point.

The staff are super friendly and organise lots of fun activities. The beds are comfortable and everything is very clean. Kitchen was great and cleaned by staff several times a day. Bathroom was nice and showers were really good- great water pressure. Cinema room is excellent, loads of comfy bean bags and pillows, air con and Netflix etc on the TV. Truly excellent location, minutes away from the tram and train.

The rooms were very very hot. There are fans which help with air circulation, but not the temperature. The rooms could really do with some air con, it would make this hostel near perfect. The lockers in the bed are big which is handy for storage but really gets in the way, I kept bumping myself on it and it was a bit annoying to get in and out of.

My favorite hostel in Melbourne. :) The location is great, the common area is good and the vibe is nice. The staff are the best though! Miguel and Dan and Rachel and team are always so helpful. And Silvia and Jessi are the hardest working staff I know! They always keep it so clean and helpful and friendly too! They're always running around keeping it so clean and tidy but always so positive and friendly and helpful too. It's amazing to see such happy and hard working staff keeping this place a solid 10! BOUNCE is a great hostel to base yourself at for a first timer in Melbourne who’d like to see the city itself. It is directly opposite the Flinders Train Station and is nearby most of the pick up points of day trips or tours. Plenty of shopping and sining options around too. Though the building is old and the interior is a bit run down, stay was really comfortable. The bed was soft but firm, blanket was enough to keep me warm. Im not sure if there was AC (for when its summer) but the ceiling fans and one fan on the open window kept the room cool and ventilated. The toilets and bathrooms were ok, but could use some more lighting inside as not all cubicles are well lit. Staff are very friendly and accommodating, felt at home!

Ideal location—right opposite Flinders Street Station, which made getting around the city super easy. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, especially Danny from Mexico, who was extremely helpful and went out of his way to make sure guests felt comfortable. The place was clean, well-maintained, and had a great vibe overall. Loved meeting people from around the world, sharing stories, and enjoying the positive energy. Highly recommend if you're looking for a social, well-located, and stress-free stay in Melbourne!

Love the private bunks with power and a shelf. Huge game changer for hostel comfort. The bar underneath the hostel is exactly the type of Melbourne bar you want to have close. Loved to funky live music on a Monday, defence worth checking out!

The shower facilities could be cleaner. With the amount of people using them they got dirty pretty quickly. The plumbing from the level above ran through our bedroom and was very loud every time someone used a toilet so ear plugs are a must!
