A perfect place to visit Melbourne - and it's close to the river next to some Restaurants and Bars as well. Caps directly in front of the door in case you'll check out the city.... The rooms are clean and comfortable equipped with fridge, microwave and water cooker (Tee/Coffee included).A Flatscreen in front of the bed with easy connection to your phone/tablet to watch your Netflix stuff etc.... Only the Sat-TV (just 5 channels to watch) was a little disappointing. But in total - a nice place to stay in Melbourne Southgate. The beds / pillows are cosy and comfortable and you can completely darken to room... The bathroom was clean - however, I would have liked a handheld shower and a hairdryer too. Generally a good price-performance ratio!

One Main lounge Lights not working on arrival. As we were there for eight nights it was not until the 3rd night this was fixed after our request. Similar with the TV remote, the battery was expired and flat. There were no checks taking place of these simple items, weather the house keepers or a walk in by the maintenance personnel. The Toilet seat. Usable but very loose. Again, no checks made or attempts to correct. Is it your policy to only fix items if and when a client complains??

I was not informed by anyone that my Partner had called the hotel and left his credit card details, as I had left mine in NZ. No staff member told me and no note was placed under my door , nothing. Was a bit unfriendly not being greeted by a staff member at the front counter upon arrival...putting in my details into your room scanner thingy was very un-welcoming. Front desk is a little small and not inviting at all...just looks like an extension of the bar.

Mercure Melbourne Southbank was perfectly located right on the riverbank, making for a beautiful and convenient walk along the Yarra. The hotel’s laundry room was a huge bonus—especially appreciated during our five-week trip living out of suitcases. A practical and pleasant stay in a fantastic location.

During our stay, there were some renovations underway which caused a bit of noise, but it wasn’t too disruptive and is clearly just a temporary inconvenience.

Comfortable room with everything we needed for the night. The location was perfect for us given we were attending an event at Hamer Hall. Breakfast was lovely with a great range of options.

Unfortunately there are building works nearby so after a late night returning from our event we were woken at 7 with the all the noisy machines. Also other than where the cutlery was we were not told about where things like plates and salt and peppers were so spent a bit of time having to search for these things in the breakfast room.

The rooms are spacious and comfortable the view from my room of the city and the river was definitely worth the extra for upgrade. I loved the location it is close to Everything trams, trains and the walk along the river was EXCEPTIONAL and there are so many places to eat or as I did take a river cruise it’s only a two minute walk away

The only thing was that I drink a lot of coffee and there was only 3 satchels in my room apart from that there was NOTHING to complain about

They cleaned everytime we left the hotel. The room service was also nice and fast. Shame they didnt have a pool or a gym like shown on their website. But the location of the hotel is fantasic. Right next to everything. Made our vacation enjoyable and easy. The price was also exilent

No Pool :( and the resterant look very difficult to access. When we went to go down to eat the reserant looked more like a coffee and tea place more than somewere to eat

Loved the location, the ease of check-in/check-out, room was spacious and had everything needed. The blockout curtains work really well. It is not affected by noise in the city.

The bathroom was very old and tired, showed signs of effort put into maintaining its cleanliness but unfortunately the drains smelt, the toilet didn't work properly at times, the shower was difficult to regulate temperature. I expected a higher standard for the price point.

We love staying here when coming to Melbourne for a weekend away. It’s great value for money, the location is great and it’s comfortable. A short walk to Flinders Street Station or there’s a car park next door. We are a small family of one adult and 2 kids, so we usually get a Queen room and have the sofa bed made up for one of the kids.

There isn’t really anything we don’t like, so the only feedback I would give is that the bathroom was a little outdated, the tiles looked worn/dirty.

Property was located in a great part of the city. Easy to walk Southbank. We were seeing Moulin Rouge and we were able to walk within about 15 minutes. Hotel was clean with fresh minimal decor. Parking was easy and close by.

Check in was slow and we waited in a line for at least 15 minutes. When we finally got to the check in, there was no acknowledgment of the excessive wait. We were then upsold breakfast for the next day at a discounted rate. The room was prepaid. Checkout I was left waiting while another guest pushed in front of me and my husband. The staff member did apologise for this. Overall the check in and check out left me really disappointed. It actually felt like staff were there to just do their job without showing much care to guests.
