Funky little hotel situated right in Southbank with bars, restaurants and other facilities all within walking distance. Great little bar downstairs where you could get breakfast, snacks and drinks, and very friendly and helpful staff. The rooms are excellent value for money - not huge but spotlessly clean and tidy and certainly more than enough for a short stay. Would definitely stay here again.

Our room didn't have a window (it did have a skylight). If we had been aware of that we would have asked for a room with a window - or to upgrade our room.

Everything was nice, clean and tidy, and the staff were nice and helpful, too. The only thing I can mention on the negative side is the security bond release protocol. Even though it is not a big amount and even though it was said, it will be released upon checkout (I believe it was by the staff on duty), however it took min.2 weeks to get it back on the account. Not a big deal, but worth mentioning it as it was communicated differently upfront. Overall, it is a nice, boutique hotel tho.

I liked how it had a bar/cafe on site. It was easy to walk to bars and restaurants or anywhere else we wanted to go. It was lovely and quiet. Great shower and comfortable bed. Staff were lovely and helpful.

No parking on site. The car park that was supplied was close enough but card we were given wouldn’t let us in like we told it would. We had to ring for help from the car park going in & out which was annoying but also not too much of a big deal. The tap in the bathroom was so wobbly I thought it was going to fall off & the carpet was really worn in places. These 2 (small)things surprised me as everything else about the place was so lovely and cosy.

We loved our stay at Ink Hotel Melbourne. We were honestly sad to leave and wished we had booked for longer! The hotel was within close walking distance to both Woolworths and BWS (an absolute must for a Friday night) as well as local bars and restaurants, which was super rad. The facilities were amazing! Our bed was comfortable, the room was clean and we absolutely loved the vibe of the hotel. The staff were amazing! They were so friendly and accommodating. Plus, they knew how to make a killer toastie. I also saw there was a pet friendly area which was the most wholesome thing ever which I absolutely loved. I cannot think of one thing I did not like. 10/10.

Our stay at The Ink Hotel was absolutely exceptional—10/10! From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by Will and Hannah, who made us feel like part of the family. Their hospitality was unmatched, and they went out of their way to ensure our furry baby Arthur felt just as at home. The hotel itself is stunning—modern, stylish, and impeccably clean. The room was spacious, cozy, and had all the amenities we could ask for. The location was perfect, with easy access to everything we wanted to explore. The service was top-notch, and the attention to detail was evident throughout our stay. We couldn't have asked for a better experience and will definitely be returning. Highly recommend The Ink Hotel for anyone looking for a fantastic stay!

I loved everything!!!

In a great spot - outside of the hustle of the city but not too far out from there either. The Comfy room was great and had enough space for me to hang up fits I wanted to wear for the day. You also get a free drink basically if you put on outside your door a little tag (abt global warning)

The receptionists did come off (to me, personally) like they were agitated by me being there. Definitely not saying they needed to put it on heavy and be super excitable - it’s not like Ibis or Mantra. I just felt like they hated me hahah

I don't need a lot of space but your rooms use small spaces VERY efficiently. I love the quirkiness of the place. The room I was in was small but very comfortable, enabling me to also attend to work duties with the little office space. Shower was hot. Plenty of linen. Bar fridge provided to store snacks. Nice sized TV to relax with in downtime. The hotel is within walking distance of Southbank meaning access to plenty of sites and restaurants. The hotel is situated right on City Road but the rooms are very quiet. The staff are friendly and helpful and the breakfast you can have on site is excellent.

The hit-and-miss nature of the air conditioning. My first night and the next day it was a little sweat box in the room and the only air circulating was from the fan mode on the monitor. However, this was rectified by the staff the next day as they had to completely reset it. You do have to pay a deposit upfront even if you have paid in full - so be aware of that. You get it back but sometimes that is an expense people don't expect. The hotel does not have small bottled water at all but very generously provides flasks that you can take to your room (water or sparkling water) which is excellent, the only issue is the flask does not fit in the fridge, other than that it is a brilliant idea.

Location was good, close to the city and Southgate. Rooms were very clean, modern and comfortable. Favourite features were the blockout blinds and built in Chromecast on the TV. Staff were nice and there is a bar and good breakfast options.

Rooms are very small. There is nowhere to put your bags that is not in the way. The shower opens out into the room, there is no privacy to get undressed and dressed, which is probably fine for a couple, but not so much other family members and friends. Not close to public transport, requires a 8-10min walk.

The location is incredible ! On the side of the river where there are lots of things to see and to do, if you want more, there are lots of things also accessible by tram. Bed were very very comfy. And i loved how the bathrooms are made, super easy to use for couples. Cleaning is great in between nights when requested. Staff is very nice. The bar downstairs is great to have. Loving the art bits everywhere and the random bits the rooms.

It seems like a very old building that has not taken care of properly in the past mainly, but in the present too. Walls/ceiling are all cracked and paint is pealing. Showers do not have anything to keep the water from leaving it and get all the floors flooded beside it. When you get out of the shower, the bathmat is properly damp. The walls are all scratches and stained as if they havent been cleaned and painted in years and years.

The bed was so comfortable we had to write the down the brand to try and get the same mattress back at home! Great smart tv with Netflix, Disney, etc. Fabulous coffee selection and machine. Very central location next to Southbank which was our favourite area of Melbourne. We stayed at similar priced hotels in other Australian cities like Perth, Sydney and Brisbane and this was by far the best!

Nothing - we would come back in a heartbeat just to sleep on the comfy bed again!
