The city location is brilliant. Walking distance to pretty much anything! I love that it is family friendly too. Beds were super comfortable and we had a great nights sleep. Staff were lovely and helpful. The valet parking is a lifesaver if you have small children!

There seems to be some construction going on within the hotel so we didn’t get to experience it on all its glory. Looking forward to seeing it when it’s all complete. I suppose the whole hotel could do with a bit of a refurb. But none of that would turn me off staying there again. You just can’t beat that location!

Brilliant location. Fantastic shower with no door to get in the way. Good pressure and temperature too! Timely room service and delicious pumpkin soup. Yum! Lovely woman at reception on Tuesday, 11/3/25 who stored my bags. VERY quick check in and check out. A recent stay at The Asian inspired Dorset took 20 minutes to check out and cost MUCH more. Your hotel was a bargain.

Surly Asian women at reception on Saturday 8/3/25 who barked at me when I asked about booking breakfast. Room didn’t look like a 5 star hotel. A sofa awkwardly placed next to the bed. No microwave in room. Less than 1 roll of toilet paper on arrival. Bed a bit soft and pillows too big but that’s personal preference.

Reception staff were not able to think outside the SQUARE in that I booked (and paid for with Booking.com) the accommodation in my name for 2 adults and 1 child, I rang the day before our arrival and advised that my daughter and granddaughter would arrive at the hotel before me and I asked if they would be able to enter the room when it was ready for occupancy. The receptionist advised that "no" my daughter could not enter the hotel room until I updated my booking with Booking.com to include my daughters name. This I did, the next day the same receptionist still denied my daughter and granddaughter entry into the room because Bookin.com had not provided them with the electronic advice she required. After some kerfuffle my daughter was eventually let into the room at about 15:36 -

Reception staff to be able to handle requests like mine a bit better.

The location was fabulous and easy to get to from the airport and also to navigate around the city during our stay. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The atrium was beautfiul and made for a lovely view from the room.

Needing to use 2 lifts to get from the street to the room was a bit inconvenient but nothing major. We never knew what towels we were going to have each day - there was a sign informing guests to hang up any towels they didn't want to be replaced and leave any they did want replaced on the ground. So day 1 we hung everything up as we were happy to reuse all of them. However they were taken and only some were replaced. Then day 2 we opted to just put everything on the ground given hanging them up didn't achieve anything and again onmly some were replaced. Day 3 everything was on the floor and nothing was replaced so we had to go to reception to request towels given they had all been taken. Nothing major but was just inconvenient to have the sign that was then irrelevant.

We did valet parking for our stay for Grand Final eve long weekend. It was easier for sure given the location and how busy it was when we checked in. The pool was great. We got room service for dinner and it arrived quickly and was fresh. The staff who delivered it and the valet parking staff were nice and friendly. Oh and they noted and actioned our request on the system for a room away from foot traffic. That is a surprise as lots of other hotels have missed this request (in our other experiences of late).

It smelt like vomit as soon as the lift opened to their "lobby". The reception staff did their job but looked tired and like they couldn't be bothered. No customer service e.g. smiling or thank yous from reception staff both at check in and check out.

Excellent location. Spacious room. Liked the fact that it has a little lounge chair as well for comfort.

The phone didnt work so couldn't call for room service. There is an overnight menu however no coffee or other hot drinks - e.g. capuccino, hot chocolate. Overnight menu had "heavy" meals, some lighter snack options would have been nice to see on the menu. No bathrobes - at that price per night having a bathroom to wear down to the pool/spa would have been nce.

Breakfast was excellent. Big selection to choose from. Everything was clean and staff were friendly and helpful

Everything was excellent. The room was clean, mattresses were very comfortable, the facilities etc pool, gym. Location was great , within walking distance to the theatre, wonderful choice of restaurants and cafes. Maybe one suggestion is that the bed pillows could include a firmer pillow and a soft pillow for those that need a little more neck support but cannot sleep comfortably with two pillows, That’s all

Upon arrival we were greeted by the friendly valet who took care of us straight away. Helping us with our bags & including our kids making the whole experience fun for them & relaxing for us as parents. We also noted on our booking we were celebrating a birthday & anniversary and we were surprised with a lovely treat in the room. Everything at the hotel was perfect! As a family it was the most enjoyable hotel stay we’ve had in the city. With the pool being a big A+ for our girls. Location is perfect also! Highly recommend and will stay there again.

One of the challenges staying in Melbourne with a young family is city noise. In the past we have mitigated this by staying in serviced hotels a bit further away from the action, such as closer to Flagstaff Gardens. This time the main focus of the trip was to watch a musical, so we booked Novotel to be close to the theatre. This hotel has got to be Melbourne’s best kept secret. You can choose rooms that face Collins or little Collins if you wish to have the city views, or a room that faces internally. The slight drawback to this is that it can be a little dark (less sunlight), however it is so quiet and worked amazingly for our family. We really enjoyed being smack in the city, with access to everything at the hotel doorstep. The hotel is not new, but still well-maintained and clean. The buffet breakfast is great, as is the restaurant service. We also ordered ala-carte for dinner one night and had a really good meal. We ended up staying an extra night as our child unexpectedly fell ill and had a very high fever. There is an excellent medical centre just four doors down. Novotel’s FOH manager was so helpful in extending our stay and making sure our child could rest quietly until our new room was ready. Overall this was a great stay and we wouldn’t hesitate to book again.

Location.

Reception struggled to understand payment request, I wanted to use debit card, had to transfer money onto a credit card at reception to pay. When asking “can I use debit card, she acted like a credit card is a debit card. House keeping was very late in the afternoon, one day we got missed. 5 nights no new bed linen. Drinking equipment washed in bathroom, felt unpleasant, also no detergent used. Only one cup, provided. Window view was air conditioning ducts, was hoping to enjoy city lights at night. I hope all this information helps.
