Excellent location - right in the middle of the city and just a short stroll to Myer. The staff were very friendly, helpful and efficient. The room we stayed in was quiet with very little city noise. The bed was very comfortable and the linen felt luxurious. Breakfast was included in our deal. There was plenty to chose from and it was very nice

The room was quite small as was the bathroom but we didn’t spend too much time in the room so it didn’t really concern us. One of the lifts was out of order, which caused some waiting issues at certain times. The staff were very apologetic and the problem was rectified by the following day.

Super location right in the heart of the city and easy walk to shops, food, and entertainment as well as the Yarra River precinct. Nice clean hotel, friendly staff, groovy elevator music! The bathroom was newly refurbished, and there were a lot of TV channel choices. Beds were clean and comfortable.

No view out of our window but that really did not bother us much as we were out and about most of the time anyway. The bathroom, which was actually very spacious and nice, had no cupboards and only a tiny shelf, so there was limited space to put our personal things.

Once we found the motel we found it a comfortable venue to stay in central Melbourne. It is not far from the train station or the shopping mall. We had never been to that part of Melbourne before and we needed the street signs telling us property numbers along the lane. We walked in from Swanson Street and walked past your property and ended up a long way along the lane. Properties on the lane do not have clearly labelled property numbers. We soon became lost. The Myer store security guard was very kind and showed us where you were located. Approaching from Swanson Street you have a distinctive mural but there is not a clear sign labelling the motel. Your sign is above the lane door and is easy to miss.

You are hard to reach by phone and your 1300 number is always too full of messages so one cannot leave a message. This is crucial if you have walked along Little Bourke and lost the venue.

The bathroom was impeccable. The location of the hotel is fantastic, and I appreciated the offering of the buffet breakfast. Basically all staff I communicated with was friendly; one being extremely friendly and welcoming to the hotel. The free access to Foxtel and On Demand movies was a highlight of the accomodation, as is the modern design that made everything feel relaxing. I would definitely recommend family to come here.

Lacked a swimming pool facility. This would be outstanding and increase my ranking. The room also had a strange sweet smell upon entry but this grew on me - I believe it was just cleaning product!

I was able to get into my room at 9.30 am in the morning after an early morning flight. The room ( 930)was mostly quiet, no traffic noise, clean and comfortable for my stay. I booked the Standard Queen Room (23 mt square) with breakfast included. Being a Coeliac, I found enough to eat for breakfast with Separate GF cereal, toast, cake etc and they cook your toast separately in the kitchen and will cook poached or fried eggs as well. There was other food on the buffet I could eat. I love the location in town and have stayed here on numerous occasions. The self check in and departure was easy to use.

The room wasn't serviced or towels changed during the 3 days I was there, but I suppose I could have asked for fresh towels. One morning there was a lot of door slamming, people going in and out of rooms. The last night about 1.30 am there was a bit of noise coming from the room above, jumping or similar.

The location of hotel was excellent, incredibly close to the major shops and Melbourne Central mall for the cinema. Many restaurants nearby and choice of trams stops and access to train stations. The staff were attentive, service with a smile. Even asked and got poached eggs as there were only scrambled eggs available.

Room 449 was at the end of a narrow corridor. Manoeuvring a wheelchair into the room on the right was difficult. It meant I had to get out of the wheelchair before entering the room. The room itself was fully accessible otherwise. Also felt the fruit salad was not a good selection at breakfast time, especially the pears were still defrosting and hard.

This was the third time I have stayed just in the past 6 months, and I doubt I will ever go anywhere else for great budget friendly accommodation, positioned in the perfect spot central to everything. Could not fault anything this visit. The room was immaculate, and the aircon on at arrival with the current heat in Melbourne. Everything fully stocked in the room & nice respectful guests on the floor. Hallways and common areas were neat clean and tidy. I missed the name of the desk lady who checked me (it was a long name), but she was fast efficient and welcoming. Naomi checked me out and was just as wonderful. A MASSIVE compliment for Ariel, he was absolutely beautiful, a really happy and joyful light. I had him greet me at the outside entry on several occasions, and each was met with a compliment, which really makes a huge difference. IMO on how you feel as a guest and a human being. He also took my luggage for minding and retrieved it when I returned. His kind, caring, and happy disposition was just so lovely, and his farewell when I thanked him as I was leaving is definitely why I will be back. So many customer service attendants across all professions that I interacted with during my stay are just conditioned to be fast and churn out food, drink, etc, that they don't have manners and just stare when you say Hello at the start or thank you at the end they don't have a response but not Ariel. Well done on having such an amazing employee like him.

Mercure was very good in the heart of the CBD. Walkable to lots of places of interest. Great breakfasts lots of choice and well presented. Would stay there again.

Having been out all day, I decided to order room service. It took a while to arrive and when it did, it wasn't very warm. I phoned reception and they sent the guy back for it which they said they would reheat it. I said no, I wanted a fresh one and I wanted it very hot! By the time all this passed, it was 10pm when I finally got my meal. The notion had gone off me by then and only ate a little I discovered the next evening, from another resident, that it came from the sister hotel adjoined to us, hence the cold food.

I like the location, breakfasts are good, I can manage to find enough Gluten free food to eat, muesli, bread ( toast) which is cooked separately. Hot foods eggs, bacon , sometimes mushrooms or tomato. Rooms are comfortable and so are the beds. The staff are pleasant and friendly especially the breakfast team.

I stay here every 3 months or so,but the price keeps going up each time. Rooms are only serviced every 3 days, although you can ask for clean towels it would be nice if they had laundry facilities to use, might make travelling some of the time easier.

The overall facilities of the hotel were exceptional. The things that stood out to me was the kindness and professionalism of the staff and the variety of food options at the buffet breakfast. Also as someone who uses a mobility aid the location was quite beneficial as it’s a minimum 10 minute walk from everything and public transport is a short walk away.

When staying here keep in mind that the walls and windows are quite thin. Could hear (quite loudly) other guests returning to their rooms and vehicles and people on the street all throughout the night. Not that this can be improved, it’s just to keep in mind when booking here.
