The hotel is very big, but it is so well built that it is not noticeable and you can always feel an intimate atmosphere. It has retained a lot of the original spaces and furniture from the seventies (extremely well preserved and maintained), reminding us of earlier times when we were skiing in the region a lot. There are an abundance of activities available and the large structure is effortlessly located in a place filled with woods and meadows though it is only some hundred meters away from main road (that you can't see or hear from the hotel) and a comfortable walk away from the centre of charming Schladming town. Small creeks and a river are very near, perfect for strolls. Access to main attractions (especially beautiful mountains is fast and easy. Parking spaces in abundance, mostly in the shades of trees (we were visiting during the summer) with easy access. Hotel issues Summer Cards for free public transport and many other activities. Breakfast and diner were above expectations. Everything was perfectly fresh and first rate, ingredients were local whenever possible, cooking was far above average for the hotel of this size and it meets all requirements for a high quality restaurant. Breakfast was especially rich and imaginative, different in many details from most of hotel breakfast buffets. All staff was very professional, quick to help and superlatively discreet. There never was a time that we sat down for a coffee of a drink that did not result with an immediate appearance of a polite and helpful waiter or waitress. Cleaning staff is beyond reproach.

It was not clear to us when booking that the swimming pool is also a public pool but this did not affect our enjoyment.

Very friendly staff, really good service and excellent food and drinks. The hotel is in an old-fashioned style which I loved. Very clean as well. Try their cocktails and eat at their stuberl. Breakfast had a great selection of fresh bread, live cooking and lots of other fresh products.

WiFi is unreliable, especially in the rooms. Single room bed is small and there is no airconditioning. No A/C two things was known upfront and no issue as it was not hot that week but with Austrian summers it can be a demerit. I'd come back, but book a double room even as I travel solo.

The property is clean, neat, nicely decorated and well maintained. The swimming pools both outdoor and indoor are absolutely fantastic.

The only one thing which bothered me was sound isolation. My room was in the first floor directly above the discotheque and load music in the night was irritating. Ideally the sound isolation system in the newly built Hotel is very high but that was not the case here.

The staff at Sporthotel Royer is amazing. Really helpful by chat, they arranged for a pick-up from Schladming HBF and they allowed for a small bag to be kept at the reception, while I was Joling the Schladminger Tauern Trail. Breakfast and Dinner options are superb! Nice and big pool, both inside and outside, which are very welcome when the temperatures reach the 30’s.

There are so many activities to do. Squash,tennis, gym, sauna, bowling, shooting, swimming. The swimming pool is really big, it has a quite big slide. The saunas are good, with Finn, bio , infra and steam saunas. The room is bigger than we anticipated. The breakfast buffet has many selections. Overall really good experience.

It was nice breakfast. Good swimming pool for children. There are two swimming pool. So children really had a great time. Hotel room is crean. I was very satisfied with this hotel. I enjoyed everything. I will go to this hotel again if I have chance. There is a McDonald's not far from hotel. The hotel does not have a pool, they offer free acces from the hotel to the public pool. It would be nice if they would offer free access to the public gym hall, otherwise their gym hall is very poor The coffee they sell was terrible

We had a wonderful time and really enjoyed our stay. There's plenty of things to do at the hotel itself, including free entry to the swimming pool. It only takes 5 min to walk to Schladming center and there's a supermarket around the corner. Our room was big, cozy and perfectly clean! We loved the breakfast buffet as it had such a variety (even some vegan options) and everything seemed to be freshly prepared. The staff was always friendly and helpful and we'd love to go back there someday. We also recommend the a la carte restaurant, our dinner was delicious for a reasonable price.

There's not much to dislike...I would have loved a kettle in the room though.

The rooms don't have AC which could be problematic on warm days, but we asked for a fan and that solved it
