- 10/10 for the staff. Very friendly and knowledgeable. I don't remember his name but he was a tall guy - Location is excellent. Easy to walk everywhere and close to the boat taking you out of the island - They have a restaurant on site which is convenient if you don't want to walk around - Nice balcony -Nice partial view of the lake (though distant but still good)
- Stairs are terrible. Very steep and long - Too expensive for what it is - Room layout (the beds)

Where do I even start.. this Hallstatt is the most beautiful place i’ve ever been to, and this incredibly adorable pension augmented my entrance with this postcard lake town to the max! Hallstatt itself predates even Rome, with thousands of years of salt mining history, something I didn’t know and wouldn’t have experienced from this beautiful little town nestled in the ledge between Alpine mountains and a serene lake. There are no words fit to describe the beauty of the scenery here, and let me tell you, it comes from a person who has never been impressed by any mountain view! When I was dragged to Yosemite years ago by a group of more nature-loving friends, my thought was “ok these are just giant rocks.. what am I supposed to be marveled at??” Salzburg and Hallstatt completely changed that. Take the funicular up to the mountain either or both for the salt mine and skywalk, no pictures do justice to its majestic yet intimate, heavenly beauty. Take a leisurely stroll around the town , admiring centuries-old houses- i am so glad I chose this incredibly pretty pension, without knowing that the house of the hostess’s namesake is 400 years old. I think Pension Leopoldine is the prettiest one of all in Hallstatt!😉 It is like sleeping in a museum. Our family of four had a delightful stay, enjoying all the charming antiques around the rooms ( we had the 2bedroom unit) , had great sleep in the comfortable beds. The staffs were so kind and accommodating with early check in and storing luggages for hours after checkout . 🙏Even gave us 2pieces of delicious cakes and 2 cupcakes, and chocolate chip cookies for our departure gift. Thank you so so much for one of the most unforgettable travel experiences! Lord willing, We absolutely would love to come back and habe a longer stay.. God bless you and your family, Ms Leopoldine 💕 Oh , just wanted to add that the location is perfect also, steps from a small supermarket, ferry dock, Hallstatt museum, the churches!
Nothing, only wish I had booked 2 more nights ! My 11 year old daughter said the same

Big room and a patio with lake view over the rooftops. Great location and excellent staff Franz. He explained the local stores, restaurants and things to do. He made several phone calls and messages to finally got us reserved a taxi so we won’t miss our train leaving the town. Our train leaves before the first ferry or bus can take us to the train station. Didn’t pay attention to weekend ferry schedules until after booking the train tickets. Big thanks to Franz!
The property manager does not reply to my messages sending through booking.

The staff was super polite. The view was awesome. We were given I think the nicest room. The location was in the center of the beautiful town. The facility looks old and rustic, but it was easily the most well-kept place of all the places we stayed on during our trip. It had all the charm you look for on a trip like this, in my opinion.
It is a shared bathroom, but the bathrooms were very pretty, so it wasn't a deal breaker. Plus, we were the only ones on the top floor besides the housekeeper. And there were two showers and three toilets so I didn't feel burdened at all. I think all of the places directly in the village area have to be pricey, but it was kind of a once in a lifetime experience, so I think it was justifiable. It's definitely more justifiable than other cities in Austria.

Our stay was EXCEPTIONAL! It exceeded all of our expectations; from the staff, to the room, to the view - it was all far beyond amazing. Ferenz and Lukas were so incredibly helpful when it came to every aspect of our stay. They helped us carry our luggage, provided us with treats from the bakery downstairs and were overall very welcoming and made us feel like family. The room was very spacious; the front bedroom had a cute balcony overlooking the front streets and was a great place to sit out in the morning with a cup of coffee before all of the tourist charter busses arrived late morning. The back bedroom window looked down on a stream running between the buildings; really relaxing to fall asleep to! Kitchen was stocked with some coffee and tea which was a nice touch. Would recommend staying here if you are interested at all in visiting Hallstatt; it is well-located and very authentic! The amazing staff are just the cherry on top of all the existing wonderful amenities.
The only small detail that the staff did not make us previously aware of before arriving was where to park our car. We drove in from Munich and when we arrived to Hallstatt, the road our GPS told us to turn up to get to the hotel was blocked off. Apparently only shuttle vans are allowed thru - the main road is incredibly busy and we did not know where to park our car. For anyone driving in, you can purchase a parking pass for Lot 1 and a Hallstatt shuttle van will pick you up in the front of the parking lot and drive you up the hill. Our shuttle driver was also incredibly friendly!

It is a place with heritage, cosy, warm and peaceful. Our room was spacious for three of us and with a great view of the lake, next door to the ferry and straight in the centre of Hallstatt. The host is brilliant, very friendly and accommodating, we had everything we needed. Great place in a great location. Many thanks
We wish we stayed longer

The staff that helped check me in and out was extremely kind and helpful. He provided maps and useful information for my stay (affordable grocery stores, places to eat, points of interest, etc) and overall went above and beyond to make sure my time in Hallstatt would be well spent. The room itself had everything that was needed and also a closet space, small eating area, and the loveliest private deck and sitting area. I was given a free upgrade to a lake view when I had originally booked the mountain view. The common area had free tea, a fridge and microwave for guests. I would recommend this stay for short or long term guests in Hallstatt! The central location, friendly staff, comfortable accommodations and views will be great for any vacation (:

The view by balcony is unbelievable. The build was hundreds fo years old but its very clean, giving this mixed modern traditional feel and i love it. The bathroom is clean and well separated by type of use. The gentleman by frontdesk was super nice. He offered guide in hallstat, great service, nice attitude, even a complementary in the end. He asked if i would bring my family back here again. I definitely will! Thank you for such a great stay. It made my stay hallstat way more lovely. Very nice town and vibe. Despite a bit higher price, if you can afford it go for it. It's very worth it for me.

We loved everything about our stay! The location was perfect, close to everything so easy to stop back to the room for a rest if needed. The whole team was welcoming and efficient with check in, and also very informative about local activities and dinner options. The shared bathrooms were very clean, and we never had an issue with getting one when we wanted. Our room had an amazing lake view, where you could hear music wafting up from the main square in the evening. It was charming, and we would not hesitate to book here again if we return to Hallstatt once more.

What an amazing gem in the centre of Hallstatt. On arrival Ferenz was amazing in accomodating early check in @ 10am. I was lucky to receive a free room upgrade to a Seaview balcony room! He went above and beyond for me, giving me a run down of the town and everything it had to offer. He offered to take my bags up the steep staircase. Thank you Ferenz you are amazing. If you’re ever considering visiting, this place is great value for money! It was very clean and felt very homey.
