Nice and modern room. The breakfast was good, but not great. Staff was very friendly. The location is right at the main square.

The rooms and the hotel are modern but they feel loveless and lifeless. No plants. Lighting in the room was rather dark, the shower at the end of a corridor felt rather cold and the windows have insufficient curtains, so it got bright rather soon in the room. There was a construction site right in front of the hotel - which would have been good to know beforehand, to change to a room facing the courtyard.

Stayed during European Bike Week, easy parking for bike, but be aware that numbered spaces do not guarantee that space, had my motorcycle space occupied and was told just take another, not optimal but no issues. Bike spaces are small and have a cover. Rooms are good, clean, comfortable, plenty of space, but no air conditioner and can be a bit noisy with windows open, even with courtyard view, not an issue for us but need to be aware. Staff was 99% great, only one individual with attitude, but we left in a hurry to get in front of incoming weather and I forgot to check out, called, no issue, mailed back room keys, no hassle. Breakfast is great.

Great characterful hotel in center of Villach. Easy and friendly staff, with early check in and excellent bike storage. Really good value for design, comfort, and excellent breakfast. Villach has a car free core which is pleasant to stroll and found the great brewery across the river as well as a small bit friendly middle eastern place for casual dinner.

Room design may not be for everyone, as our room had split bath with glass(frosted) walls but bathroom noises clear to all. A late arriving staff glitch on Sunday morning meant no coffee, tea, hot water, or juice until over a half hour after breakfast had started! Assume this was a one off problem and rest of staff and stay was great. No kettle of coffee making option in room either.

I had to make a last minute reservation in Villach because of delays because Deutsche Bahn messed up on my way to Ljubljana, meaning I couldn't reach Ljubljana. Thankfully I was able to make a reservation here and get a late check-in. I only slept here for 5 hours, but it was really nice. Nice, clean shower and a large, clean, comfortable bed. I am glad I stayed the night here.

The price was a bit high, considering I only stayed one night (even less than that, 5 hours) and I didn't get to have breakfast (had to leave at 6:00, breakfast is served at 7:00), but that's just how things were at the moment. I don't blame the hotel.

Great hotel; we loved the decor and facilities a lot as well as super efficient, helpful and friendly staff. Our room was very spacious and well equipped, with AC (which was a blessing on a very hot day) and a small sitting area with a sofa and a coffee table. The hotel is beautifully decorated, respecting its history (it has very interesting past) and providing all contemporary amenities, such as fast internet service or private parking. Breakfast was delicious, with plenty of options. I strongly recommend Palais26 for either a long or short stay.

My room was very hot when I arrived because the sun had been beating through the windows. I tried to turn on the AC, and couldn't get it to work. I found out the next day that the whole hotel had been converted to heat for the season, but the staff didn't know that and sent maintenance to fix the AC. At night with the windows open the room finally cooled off.

The hotel is situated on the pedestrian street in a building with a very interesting history. The staff was very kind and always ready to help. The breakfast is served in an original way and is very tasty.

On two very rare occasions, we had to wait a while for a warm water to start when having a shower. On ocassions, the internet connection was lost. However, I must admit that we didn't report these problems. Otherwise, they would highly likely would have been resolved.

We were cycling the Alpe Adria trail as a family of three. The hotel is in a historic building in the very center of Villach. Upon arrival, we could park our bikes in a dedicated room in the courtyard. The rooms had a tasteful interior, appropriate form the building, everything was spotless clean and staff were very friendly. The beds were comfortable and the breakfast was very good . Best hotel on our trip, so far. Would definitely book again.

Very spacious suite with a large rooftop deck overlooking the city, clean and well equipped. The hotel is right in the middle of the old town, on the pedestrian Hauptplatz full of restaurants, cafes, shops and galleries. Excellent breakfast with plenty of options. Amazing staff!

The main entrance is through the restaurant that closes quite early, so if you enjoyed your dinner elsewhere and getting back late, expect to navigate through a little dark alley and code-locked entry to the parking lot.

Pretty hotel with a lot of history. Good breakfast included, but I missed the “private buffet” they used to have.

I asked for a quiet room when I booked, but they assigned me a room facing the main square. To get a room away from the square, I had to accept a downgrade at the same cost.
