Nice friendly reception and all staff we encountered during our trip. A great selection of restaurants with a variety of foods. The Spa was enjoyable once we sorted the confusion and mixup in the booking. The gym equipment was nicely spaced out and didn't feel cramped.

More sun beds and shading umbrella's around the pool area would be better as it seemed busy when we stayed but was told that the hotel wasn't at capacity. Probably could use the grassed area between the pool and convention centre for additional space. Spa reception didn't seem to know what was fully included in the different packages which led to a mixup in the booking. A print out of what is included in the packages for the reception staff to read would be a quick and easy solution.

It’s beautiful really but when we went there it was crowded. The staff at reception, breakfast, lounge, and room service were all amazing, helpful, and extremely polite. It’s not my first time there and it certainly won’t be my last. I thank the property, management, and staff for their utmost hospitality and professionalism.

The staff at the spa were almost rude. There were no clear appointments or anyone to answer questions really. They were vague about their work hours. They were NOT helpful at all or available for booking or even answering inquiries. I strongly advise against using the spa here. Find something better until they fix the staff rudeness problem and find a better solution for appointments other than waiting to speak with spa staff or directly speaking to one of them.

I stayed at the Gulf Hotel in Bahrain last week and had a fantastic experience. The hotel is very well located, close to many of Bahrain’s main attractions, and surrounded by a great selection of restaurants and cafés. One of the highlights was the convenient Formula 1 shuttle stop right at the hotel—an excellent bonus since we were visiting Bahrain to attend the Formula 1 Grand Prix. We stayed in a room on the 10th floor, which offered stunning views of the Manama skyline. Despite the central location, the room was exceptionally quiet, allowing us to rest peacefully. The staff were absolutely amazing—friendly, attentive, and always ready to go the extra mile to make us feel welcome and well taken care of. I would definitely recommend the Gulf Hotel and would gladly return on a future trip to Bahrain.

Nothing, everything was perfect.

Absolutely loved our stay at the Gulf Hotel Bahrain. From location to service, everything exceeded expectations. We stayed on a higher floor and didn’t hear a single noise from the bustling nightlife nearby—great soundproofing. Despite the intense summer heat, the suite stayed at the perfect temperature with the A/C barely running. That was a pleasant surprise. The breakfast spread was generous and full of variety—definitely one of the best in town. The pool area is a standout for families—spacious, fun, and easily a full-day experience for kids and adults alike. What really made the difference was the staff: • Ahmed (part of the Bahrain GP organizing team, featured in one of the lobby photos) went out of his way to arrange transportation to the Formula 1 circuit for us—even after the last official coach had already departed. That level of willingness to help is rare and truly appreciated. • Alam from room service made sure everything was done to our exact preferences, maintaining top standards throughout our stay. Highly recommended whether you’re in Bahrain for business, leisure, or F1!

Minor things such as light either all 15 bulbs on or all off. No light beside big mirror to dress up. Toilet door can be opened from outside.

Fantastic location adjacent to the best area in Bahrain for restaurants and night life. The hotel is huge, with 3 separate buildings. We booked a two bedroom suite which was in the executive apartments, and was excellent and great value. Two bedrooms both with bathrooms (not mentioned on this site) a guest toilet, and a lounge and kitchen diner. The hotel has a diverse range of restaurants of high quality. The Spa is top notch and the health club/gym is great. All the staff are extremely friendly and very helpful.

Nothing. I would recommend this hotel unreservedly.

More or less a perfect place to start sightseeing’s from this place. Restaurants and Bars are very close. Staff acts professionally and friendly. Food is good, prices are reasonable. Many different restaurants in this hotel. Nice.

We were not satisfied with the housekeeping service. (RoomNo: 250).Although we are a couple, they never managed it to give us enough towels. Either they took the old ones and didn’t leave new towels. Water wasn’t provided appropriately. Coffee bar was just refilled after request. Room was just cleaned in the afternoon after we complained at the front desk. Except housekeeping the stay was perfect

The staff were amazing, kind, courteous and so so helpful. The included breakfast was lovely and me and my daughter had a great time playing in the pool whilst the wife was sunbathing 😊

Originally the bed was extremely uncomfortable and the duvet was so thin i was waking up in the night shaking but when I spoke to the staff they fixed it all for me and by the time I got back a topper was on the bed and a thicker duvet was on place. The only bad part across the stay was that it would take literally 10 minutes for the water to heat up for a shower and there was no ventilation in the bathroom (one bed exec apartment)

Staying at Gulf Hotel Bahrain was undoubtedly one of my best experiences worldwide. I was truly impressed by the professionalism, hospitality, and dedication of the staff. It’s evident that their ultimate goal is to serve guests and exceed expectations—whether reasonable or unreasonable. The team is incredibly friendly, always smiling, and ready to assist without waiting to be asked. A special thanks to Mr. Khalid at the front office for his professionalism and genuine attitude. He exemplifies excellence in hospitality and sets a standard that should be taught in professional hospitality institutions. The hotel itself is immaculately clean, well-maintained, and elegantly luxurious, representing the true essence of heritage and timeless elegance. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a world-class experience!

Overpriced and Underwhelming Buffet Experience: The Friday brunch buffet, priced at BD 25 per person with no discounts for hotel guests or children aged 12 years, felt overpriced and uninviting. This may explain why the buffet on January 3rd was not busy, and a significant amount of food—such as a whole turkey, lamb, and seafood—appeared barely consumed by the end of service at 4 PM. This raises concerns about profitability and highlights the need for management to review pricing strategies, introduce promotions, and enhance marketing efforts to attract more guests and make better use of such a lavish spread. It's also a must to consider offering special prices or discounts for hotel guests to encourage participation and ensure the buffet’s success and profitability.

The hotel is very well presented and the staff were excellent. We liked the apartment we stayed in, it was spacious and comfortable. The pool area was pleasant and not too busy. The location was great, just a short walk to lots of cafes and restaurants along with several restaurants in the hotel it meant we had plenty of options for food. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would definitely return.

There wasn't a lot of cooking utensils provided to say it was an apartment with a cooker but we only used it for breakfast so it wasn't a massive issue, the mattresses were a bit hard and there was not enough pillows - however a quick call to reception and they brought extra pillows for us. Another minor negative was that when the bars in the hotel were busy, the recirculated A/C brought a lot of cigarette fumes into the room but that seems to be an issue most hotels with that system have.

We checked in a night before my wife's birthday and whilst I asked for a better view because of that, Frances (a member of staff) was kind enough to upgrade us to a suite and even offered to send a birthday cake to our room. We're very touched by her kindness and will definitely stay at Gulf Hotel on our next visit.

This is the oldest major hotel in Bahrain, so you may find some of the facilities outdated. But they still are grand for a five-star hotel. Also, some other guests were not palatable (especially those drinking and making loud noises by the pool), but that was not a major concern/irritation for us.
