The hotel is conveniently located to shops, restaurants and many sightseeing spots. The receptionists and bartenders were nice.
The reviews here were great, so that is the reason why I chose to stay at Martin’s Klooster. I was really excited to stay in a nice hotel, but I think I winded up in an older room that needs to be redone. I was a bit disappointed with the room. The radiator in the bathroom was rusty and the shower door was filled with limescale. When I arrived, the room did not look completely cleaned. I could see cobwebs in the shutter, an old champagne wire left behind the shutter and dust on the hairdryer. The cleaning lady was nice, but she did enter the room without knocking when I was in bed. I had expected more from a four star hotel.

A great example of how you can retain a historic feel and blend in modern accommodation. Rooms are well appointed and plenty space. The bathroom was lovely and a quality feel to all aspects of the accommodation
Not much to complain about to be honest. Maybe it could feature a spa but that would involve a large investment. It would be a good feature to come back to after walking around the beautiful city.

The room was quiet and in the old part of the hotel. The beds were comfortable. THe staff was very helpful in getting us a taxi as well as storing our bags and getting me ice when I hit my head on the low doorway into/out of the room. Loved the mini coffee machine and frig in the room. Wish we could have taken advantage of them more!
It was warm in the upper room we had (so I can't imagine it in the summer) without the heat on. We also had about 8-10 steps to go up, and though we were warned, it was a pretty steep climb with a suitcase. And though the building is old and beautiful, the doorway into/out of the room is really low. I am not tall and still hit my head on the doorway as it's a dark wood.

The facility is a very modern business oriented property, which also nicely accommodates tourists. It is very conveniently located to the areas of interest, and is very comfortable. The facilities are nice and the hours are good. The bar is very nice and the bartender is really very friendly. Beer is important in Belgium, and the bartender was really great in helping me try different types. The room also had a coffee pod machine and a really nice bathroom.
No complaints

Great location, walking distance from everything. Breakfast was excellent, the common areas are lovely.
The room for the price lacked some charm. They could improve it by putting some art on the walls and re-arranging the furniture. It looked like the furniture was thrown in just to be there. There’s so much more they could do to add character to the room so it matches the location and the charm of the building and area. The bathroom needs a little bit of elbow grease. It had a lot of built up grime.

Room was large, with a very nice tub. Fireplace was a nice touch. Large windows that opened were nice touch for morning coffee. The bar was very nice nightcap location with friendly bartenders.
The air-conditioning could have been colder. But I am an American, so we keep things frigid. Otherwise, was a very lovely stay.

Perfect location, just a short stroll to the main square. The building was lovely and the staff smiley and helpful. The room we ended up having (changed rooms due to air-con not working) was really nice and comfortable. Room 227 had a really comfortable bed and fabulous bathroom with jacuzzi bath. Being able to park underground was appreciated being so close to the centre and so many other hotels not offering it.
The hotel doesn’t offer any food services other than breakfast which seemed pricey. There is not kitchen for lunch or dinner. It would be nice to offer guests a few simple choices for room service or to eat in the bar or garden. We actually went to a sandwich place and came back to the bar and ate our sandwiches in the garden along with drinks from the bar which they didn’t object to. My husband and son were disappointed there were no gym facilities at all. Parking was €30 per day which seemed a bit too high.

Our room was very spacious, with large opening windows providing lovely views of the characterful streetscape. The position was perfect, a short walk from the historical centre. The staff were very helpful and professional. The breakfast was excellent, with a wide range of hot and cold choices. We would highly recommend Martin’s Klooster.
The two armchairs in the room were very badly stained /dirty. They spoiled the ambiance of what was otherwise a beautiful suite. They should be replaced/reupholstered immediately. There was nothing else to dislike about this lovely hotel.

Lovely big room, twice the size you would expect in a city centre for the same price. Excellent bed and decor throughout. Staff were helpful and friendly. Bike hire great.
Beautiful formal gardens but the restaurant and bar was stuck inside with the air conditioning set too high, so no al fresco experience.
