Room was clean and comfy. I loved that they had the option of same gender rooms with curtains along each bed for privacy. I felt comfortable and safe with my roommates for the several nights I was there. The breakfast was nice and you could eat indoors or out. They had a big screen tv in the event that you wanted to watch a soccer game.It was the perfect location near a local beach which was less touristy than Copacabana.

Showers could have been a little cleaner. Drains needed better function to clear hair and sand from the beach.

Well kept facilities, excellent location close to the subway, restaurants and shops and the breakfast is great! While the choices were the same throughout my stay, you get a lot of options including a couple of hot dishes besides the typical coffee, juice, cereal, fruit, yogurt and toast that you can pair with either some sweet spreads or ham and cheese.

Nothing major, my key card started malfunctioning mid stay but it was replaced.

Nice, clean, and nice old house in a safe area, with lots of restaurants and easy access to the subway. Little pool perfect to cool during the hot days. Very accommodating staff (they let me keep my luggage while travelling a couple of days to Ilha Grande and Paraty). Recommended!

It’s only a minor note, but the dorms are very small and my big luggage was occupying half of the room, as I could not fit it inside the lockers. A good solution for few days but maybe not too long.

The hostel is great, the staff is very generous, friendly and helpful- especially Francesco and Lias (hopefully I remember the name right). The breakfast buffet offers an amazing selection of fresh local fruits, cheese, ham, Brazilian pastries etc. The building is enchantingly beautiful and gives the flair of a five star hotel. The pool completes this luxury atmosphere. ♥️

The ladies bathroom in the 2nd floor could have some retouches.

The building is stunning and mostly very well kept. The staff is great (there is a 24h reception so you can come back any time and enjoy your nights out in Rio in peace) and breakfast is big and varied. The dorm beds have curtains. The Peruvian restaurant is apparently very good but I haven’t tried myself.

The bathrooms need a bit of renovations (female bathroom door doesn’t shut) and a tiny bit better cleaning in the showers there were female hair often… the WiFi password thing is a bit of a pain to be honest, first time in all of Brazil that I have to register and need to redo it every time you extend your stay!

Breakfast was pretty basic but I think it did the job and helped honestly. Not a big variety, juice wasn't the best but other than that I think it was good.

If you are looking to connect with travellers and socalize this isn't your go to place, if you want to relax more than it is your go to place. You could still meet lots of travellers there but they were majority Brazilians.

The breakfast was good however with no variation. The location of the hostel is perfect as it is very central and the nearest metro station is only 200m away.

The AC in the room worked pretty good but for me personally it was a little bit too cold. The door to my room squeaked really loudly every time someone entered the room, which was exhausting in the mornings/evenings. Regarding the bathrooms, some shower doors did not close very good.

Really nice place, comfortable and spacious beds, you have curtains, your own light and your own outlet. The rooms, common spaces and bathrooms were clean. Plenty of chilling spaces, great pool, and good breakfast.

The dorm rooms are very narrow, so you don’t have much space to pack your luggage. There are bunk beds with 3 levels, so if you are on the top one it’s pretty hard to get up and down.

I like how it was near the Santos Dumont airport. The vibes, ambiance, and aesthetic is great. It is also near the shops, local food, metro, and a lot of touristic areas. The bed is normal hostel type. I stayed in a 6-bed mixed room. They also had a pool which is nice.

The room has thin walls so you can hear the people from different rooms. I tried to get a nap but no avail - doesn’t bother me. It’s fine.

I really enjoyed my stay here. I worked remotely for the two weeks that I stayed. The internet was strong throughout the property. It was generally quiet during the day, which made it easy to work. I loved that the bunks had the privacy curtains. The rooms were cleaned everyday as well as the restrooms and the hostel in general. staff were constantly polishing, sweeping and cleaning. The restroom was always clean. The breakfast was AMAZING! There was a variety of pastries, fruit, eggs, cereal, etc! I absolutely loved it! Great way to start your day. The hostel is also located about one block from the Largo do Machado metro. They have day trips available if you want to do some sightseeing. I did two of the trips and had a great experience. The restaurant on-site was amazing! The neighborhood felt very safe. I would definitely stay here again when I visit Rio!

Make sure to bring mosquito repellent if you’re working in the lobby during the day!
