From the moment I stepped into this charming hotel, I was greeted with warmth and hospitality. Everything : reception, kindness of the staff, clean room and bathroom. And when you arrive and leave you feel as part of the family

Very tiny things which don’t affect general meaning : it was not possible to pay by card. And the fact there was no lift. But I understand that in some buildings it is better not to put a lift because they are protected or it could harm the authenticity. My husband and I got each a knee prothesis earlier this year and that’s why a lift would have been welcome. But when we go back to this hotel our knees will be all right again.

The hotel is located on the way to Rita Monastery, which makes it very convenient. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and the family running the hotel is a delight. I was lucky to be the only person staying that night, so I felt like I had my own private concierge! I had dinner at the hotel, which was wonderful. Breakfast in the morning was very filing! I would definitely recommend the hotel.

The hotel itself is on a hill which means there are stairs up from the small parking lot out front to the reception and restaurant. From the reception there are more stairs up to the building with the rooms. There was no elevator there. It wasn't a problem (and honestly, it can't be helped given where it is), but for someone who might have trouble with stairs, it could be an issue.

Family run hotel which made it very cosy and welcoming. They were very hospitable and took the time to explain everything to us despite the language barrier. Comfortable and spacious rooms. Grandma runs the restaurant and her dishes were delicious. We had a really good stay!

Would have liked a kettle in the room for tea/coffee but these can be bought in the restaurant.

It is impossible to capture the magical essence of this fantastic guesthouse in words here. It was one of the most tranquil places we have ever stayed. Alexandre and her grandson David were amazing hosts! Alexandre’s food was so delicious and looking after her guests’ every need was always her priority. Nothing was too much trouble - she provided the most delicious lunch when we arrived several hours early and always went the extra mile to make us feel nurtured and welcome. Vladimir drove us to the monastery himself as buses are infrequent now - the whole family is amazing and we loved staying here.

I loved Alexandra the old lady running the place. She barely knows English but really tries and has a lovely friendly disposition and cooked us a nice dinner and pancakes for breakfast.

The room and bathroom were freezing when we checked in but with time they warmed up with a heating airconditioner and she gave us many blankets.

Clean and well maintained. Pleasant surroundings. Restaurant is accommodating and food is homemade. Easy access to Rila Monastery, yet located in a small village with accessible hiking trails to explore the natural surroundings.

Convenient, comfortable, and very clean guest house in Rila, about 20-30 minutes down the mountain from the Rila monastery. The hostess was very kind and helpful, in spite of the lack of a common language. Breakfast and dinner were extra, but abundant and very reasonably priced. Cash only (euros or leva). The rooms (we had two) were spacious and extremely clean, and the heat worked well. No toiletries provided, but that’s not surprising at a guest house. There’s an outside area that looks like it would be very pleasant in warm weather. Overall a very good and extremely reasonably priced accomodation in Rila. (There’s a very pretty and sweet resident cat named Caesar as well :)

Parking is on a very steep hill, which was a little tricky, but the hostess came out right away on both arrival and departure to help guide us in and out of our spot. No elevator, but that’s common in Bulgaria - just be aware if you are travelling with someone who has trouble with stairs.

Spotlessly clean! Very well maintained. The people are super friendly. The food is excellent. Check-in and check-out was very easy.

For that price and for that overall high level of everything else, I would expect to have towels and shampoo included.

Aleksandra and her family run business are top notch! I couldn't be more happy to have found this location in the city of Rila, close to the Rila Monastery. Aleksandra is warm, caring and personable when it comes to hosting multiple ethnicities. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!
